Basically, I'm trying to test a ROM, and being that it's AOSP, no ease with getting data working on it as I'm on a Sprint MVNO. I would like to know if there's a possible way to merge my settings from stock to this current ROM.
Thanks.

How do I get the stock rom for my vzw tp2? If I put another rom on it and want to go back is why I'm asking.
Thanks.
This is essentially a rebuilt stock ROM for the Verizon TP2:

Awesome, thanks so much.
PPCGeeks Tp2 forum has the stock roms, as well as any other CDMA rom needs.
Question.
My understanding if I'm on stock ROM and over the air Froyo comes from ATT I'll be able to upgrade preserving all settings/applications etc.
Is there such a possibility with current ROMs from community? That is upgrading OS in place while preserving both applications and settings?
Why would you want to go back to the broken crappy Samsung bull?
Sent from my Captivate.
he doesnt. thats the point. he wants a comunity rom with convienience of att ota updates. well as of right now i dont believe there is. it is usually recomended to flash back to stock. there were early cognition/sre roms that didn't wipe data but right now working with froyo leaks each rom my be built off a diferent build. add in the variable of mods tweeks and hacks and there is no telling what data on your phone will cause a problem. some devs offer update scripts for updating to a newer version of there own rom if you have the previous version but most roms at the moment wipe data.
You are better off upgrading from stock. Your playing with fire if you update a ROM OTA and the ROM you are using has some pretty heavy customizations, different kernel, or different modem.

Everybody misunderstood what I wanted to do. I want to upgrade to custom ROM and continue upgrading to the same type of ROM but upgrading in place while preserving all the settings. I don't want to have OTA ATT upgrades, I want upgrades in place for custom ROM. I just don't understand how ATT can do that with OTA upgrade and yes none of custom ROMs available here can not do the same thing.

its harder to do without SOURCE available for our particular device. what we have right now is messy and hacked together. if samsung would just release source for the captivate we would have this in place already. i seem to remember no-wipe updates available on 2.1 roms
I've been asking around a lot about this and really haven't gotten anywhere. Jist of it is that when using AT&T LG G3 with a T-Mobile sim running AOSP roms i get kernel panics while using LTE. It's fine and dandy with stock based roms. I don't like stock so please don't tell me to do that. Here is a last-kmsg I've pulled after my latest kernel panic. I mainly run Androiduser00110001 cm12. EVERY AOSP rom causes it but I've found when i run his 12.11 build they come far and few. Like once or twice a day. Compared to every time i start using data otherwise. I asked androiduser00110001 what was different about that build but still haven't heard back from him don't plan on it either he's a very busy dev. It's bearable now with this build. If i flash a newer one I'm screwed. I've tried. I've tried every AOSP rom for our device. Please don't tell me to get a T-Mobile variant or get att service please. Some people here have been very dickish about it. Not going to mention any names. I'm just looking to see if anyone can look into the logs i post here. One more thing, this does not happen with att sim. Thank you.
I can't offer you much help, but I can tell you that my D850 unlocked and being used on T-Mobile doesn't have this problem. One issue I encountered with one of the cm12 based roms was it would keep losing the APNs.
I can only suggest doing an Advanced wipe in twrp on everything except your external Sd card and starting from scratch.
Hi all,
I have installed the CM12-20141225-UNOFFICIAL-d850 ROM and it runs ok. But, the only two reasons I moved from the stock to a custom ROM were since I'm not on AT&T coverage, the stock would not find updates (even connect to the update servers) and that it would not register to a 4G LTE network here in Brazil.
The first time I installed the ROM I'm using now, I could get no APN here and managed to correct that with a multi-apn.zip file provided on a thread somewhere here (sorry! I can't seem to find it again!).
I'm considering going back to the stock ROM as I did not enjoyed the CM12 ROM all that much.
I'm sure there are other ROMs I could try, but I'd like to know if this multi-apn.zip patch would work with the stock rom as well.
Thanks in advance,

I have encountered APN issues on more than one cm/aosp based rom.
I would suggest trying Illusion rom (5.0.2), as I have not had the issue on this one and I personally find it more feature rich than CM12.
First of all, this issue isn't just gonna get fixed by flashing a Sense-based ROM, then going back to CM12. This goes deeper than that...it seems to be working fine for guys running the same ROM with TMO and other carriers.
What does anyone know about GPS not being able to communicate with GPS satellites when running most CM12 ROMs with Verizon's 4.4.4 firmware on your M8? Could this be kernel related? Is it that Verizon 4.4.4 firmware (CDMA) is conflicting with something? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
same issue on Sprint m8

I just flased to CM 12 Nightlies and my GPS lost as well. The GPS worked great on stock kit Kat.

That does fix the issue for a lot of people and is recommended across devices when trying to get a GPS lock on an aosp Rom (example: vzw note 2) also, some people have to do it a couple times before it works. If it still isn't working for you you can try a clean flash to stock sense get the lock etc, and then copy gps.conf from /system/etc, restore your bAckup of cm12 and paste it in the same place (back up the original first), set perms to 644, reboot and hope for the best
GPS not working on HTC one m8

Just so I said it, I've got the same issue on the sprint version.
Lost GPS
I did as you suggested and tried Skyfire. The gps worked But no service or mobile data (waa waa). I made a copy of the ect/gps file and replaced it once I flashed back CM 12. Un fortunatly that didn't do the trick. Thanks for the suggestion though.
