Just sold my 16GB and got a 64GB 1+. Will restoring my TWRP backup from the 16gb cause partition size issues on the 64gb, or is it safe to use that backup?
You shouldn't have any issues, TWRP backups don't touch the user data.

I'm wondering if the zune backup 'tool' would help with the microsd card issues.
Specifically:
a) if I backup everything before adding the sd card, would I be able to restore the backup, since the sd card formatting will return the phone to a 'factory new' state?
b) if the card doesn't work, would I be able to restore it from the backup, even though phone would be messed up?
I tried one of the sandisk 8gb class 2 cards and it didn't work for me, so now I'm researching before trying a different card.
thanks
It will only work if the backup was done on a card of the same size. Basically, you cant do a backup on a card of one size and restore to a card of another size. If its the same size card you will be able to restore fine.
Hi there!
I've read a lot about performing a nandroid backup, but how I can I do it? There are several options in CWM, which one is the correct one?
Also, I believe a nandroid backup is a full backup to restore the tab to a previous condition and includes everything: so, after a full wipe (delelte EVERYTHING) I can restore a nandroid backup and all of my files, apps and its data are there, correct?
Last but not least: is it stored directly in the uSD card or in the TF's internal memory?
Thank you!
To do a nandroid:
Go to CWM > Backup and Restore > Backup
You can restore all your saved data from a previous nandroid backup.

Depends on the CWM version you're using.
The older version save only to external micro sd card but the latest version from Team Rouge save to internal and/or external sd card.
My version only saves to micro SD, was panicking when my backups weren't there after taking out my SD card.

I have a 32 gb micro sd card in my Samsung Fascinate. I attempted to create a partition using twrp recovery, but it failed everytime saying that it could not find the partition. Now when I use my card though it only shows 23.9 gb even though it is completely empty. This was a legit card and it showed the correct amount of gb proir to the failed partition. I don't know why my partition setup failed or why it is now only allowing 23.9 gb.
Thanks
I too am facing the same problem with my Kingston 64GB Class 10 micro SD card in my Sprint HTC One M8 using captain throwback's custom TWRP recovery version 2.8.4 on official kitkat 4.4.4 rom. The phone is (obviously rooted/ S-O).
Any help would be appreciated.

Try reformat your SD Card using MINITOOL PARTITION WIZARD (windows apps) into fat32. Before doing it, connect SD card to your computer just delete second partition you''ve made with twrp. (you can see it from your computer)
How to use mini partition wizard just Google it.
Thanks a lot for the tip my sd card now works perfectly and all is good!
Hi, I've got a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Plus running Lineage OS 14.1, and it's desperately in need of space. I have purchased a 64 GB class 10 card to install and use with the "format as internal" option as a solution, but I'm concerned about losing the ability to backup my phone. If I go through with this, will TWRP still be able to backup and restore my phone from this external card? If not, is there something I can do along with formatting as internal that allows me to retain that functionality (like partitioning the SD card, perhaps)?
Thanks!

If you use internal memory, it will not be possible to back up via TWRP, well, you may even get it, but some error will surely occur, I already tried doing it on a G2 bike with MicroSD as internal memory, and it I have an internal memory backup error, however, the advice would be to back it up on another MicroSD for total security that will be safe and no chance of error, partitioning is a big risk of something wrong
I actually decided to just give it a try. I did a full backup on my old SD card, installed the new card, formatted it for internal, ran a full backup, then ran a test restore, and it worked just fine. It does seem like a few apps don't like being kept on the SD card so I moved them back, but so far so good.
