where did the voice snooze go? - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is anyone else furious and wondering why we just paid money for a phone with less features? On my Galaxy note 3 I could snooze alarms with my voice, and on my note edge I can not. I contacted Samsung and they said they removed that feature. Is there anyway to get it back? I don't want to use a 3rd party app.

I know you clearly said you don't want a 3rd party app, but almost everything is better than the stock alarm. Wake Voice gives you voice activated snooze. After waking you it can also read the news, your horoscope, your schedule, and play the radio.

I too use the voice snooze option every day...any way to load the old version onto the new edge? 3rd party is ok and like the look of the new alarm (doesn't really matter since I'm sleeping, but...) would like that voice snooze/stop option back...thank you

Would like to know how to snooze on the edge panel

[Q] Additional Phone options under Notification pulldown

Im about to be coming from the Galaxy S5 side of the world. My brother got a OnePlus One and made me want to get one so he just gave me his invite.
Only thing that may bug me, is the notification pulldown where the phone info sits when you are on a call. I use my S5 heavily, almost exclusively for work. Im on 5-7hrs of conference calls a day on this and I heavily use the notification pulldown to hit mute/unmute many times. I know when I had a Nexus 5 that this was not possible. All it had was an end call button. I attached a screenshot of what my S5 shows. It shows options for speaker, mute, and end.
Any way to modify the stock ROM somehow to allow for this? Or better yet if there was a way to maybe set the volume button (say if both up and down were pressed together) that you can mute the call and again press it and unmute. Coming from a Blackberry about 2-3yrs ago, this is the biggest button I miss (don't get me wrong, I don't miss the Blackberry AT ALL). I just find both Apple and Android devices haven't fully got into the business side like how Blackberry at a dedicated mute button.

Check out 3rd party phone dialer apps. There's some good ones that I'm sure have this ability. I don't remember the name though.
But the stock rom have all these options that you want !!!! When you call sb, there is option to mute, speaker, end call etc.
You have all these and more has icons at the bottom of the dialer screen when you are in a call.

He wants it under notifications, not on the call screen. I guess he multi tasks while he talks on the phone?

That is correct, Im on conference calls a lot, like 6-7hrs a day. I check emails in the middle at times or have documents up to read on the phone when Im not in front of the laptop. With the Galaxy you got the options right in the pull down like the screenshot shows to Mute/Unmute the call without having to go back into the Phone dialer. I don't think Ive seen this on even on HTC/LG, I know its not on the Google Play versions, so that somewhat really put me off when I got a Nexus 5 and then couldn't deal with it on being able to quickly mute/unmute, so ended up giving it up and moving back to the Galaxy line of phones.

Alarm clock app recommendation?

Does any have a good recommendation? I tried Timely, but it doesn't allow me to do anything on the touchscreen (snooze, dismiss, etc). I'm not sure why it doesn't work?
i noticed this as well. i think it has to do with having the fingerprint scanner. i noticed that i was able to snooze the alarm once i pressed and then scanned my finger print. definitely not convenient 1st thing in the morning!!!
i really hope the developer fixes this. i love timely!
Timely was bought out by Google a while back. I actually bought it before it got bought out and became free.

same here.
I use Alarm Clock Xtreme.

I use Clock L
Are you sure you have to unlock before you snooze on Timely? I have mine to fingerprint as well and I can just hit snooze without unlocking. But I also have the Google Smart Lock disabled!

+1 this. I have timely as well and can snooze and dismiss no problem. There are some crashes, but nothing to piss me off too much.
I just wish i could find timely features and layout but with a more material design...

Why not just use the built-in clock app? Asking because that's what I use, and I wonder if I'm missing something from these other apps.

I use Timely because it syncs to any Android device you use based on your Google account. Very convenient if you change phones often! No need to set up alarms for each device!
This is the "SmartAlarm" from Note 3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/themes-apps/app-morning-best-alarm-samsung-port-t3052948
Dont know if they have also added it to the S6
Download
I've been using Gentle Alarm for years. Dev is fantastic at keeping it up to date as android evolves. No issues on latest version on my s6edge. I love that I can customize it to manage notifications (even keep battery full notifications from sounding and lighting) while allowing the phone to ring and alarm to sound. It has some neat options like a pre-alarm feature, if you believe in sleep rhythms. Highly recommended.
I use Sleep as Android for years. Love it
I've been using the stock Google Alarm clock that comes with Nexus devices. Just a nice plain material design with exactly what I need.
Timely works perfect.
I also use Timely. It worked great on my Nexus 5 but has been hit or miss on my S6. I can't always seem to snooze or dismiss the alarm from the lockscreen. It could have something to do with the lag of smart Lock not having the time to disable the fingerprint Lock.
It just wakes me up quicker now.
That's the problem I had with it. Both Alarm Clock xTreme and Morning have worked fine with snooze and dismiss.

Thanks to the information in this thread, I've started using Timely as my alarm clock. I wish that the widget had a few more options, but I like it well enough.

Yes exactly is whats happening with this app. It is annoying when you cannot snooze every morning, but it does make me wake up faster

Gear S2 Vibrating & Notification Issues.

Anyone else not getting the vibration when a notification comes in on the gear S2? Mine won't vibrate all the time. At first I had always on screen set to on and I never got a notification. I shut it off and started getting them. Now I'm not getting just the vibration. But if I swipe to the side the notifications are there. Non Samsung phone.
It seems like the watch when the screen is off goes into a sleep mode and doesnt wake up for the notification. What gives?
See my google+ post https://plus.google.com/communities/111224177903657805607
Had two random reboots today and the screen froze up as well. This POS is going back to best buy. Samsung cant get there **** together.
Always on mode doesnt work at all. Watch goes to sleep it seems and doesnt wake up with notifications. This is overall junk.
I had the exact same issue. The vibration issue coupled with a battery that went from 100% to 0% in less than 5 hours, normal use.
I have 12 days to return. I hope Samsung pushes an update within 12 days. I really like the hardware and UI, but it's just so damn buggy.
I have no such issues you guys are describing. I have a black S2. It's paired to a Galaxy S6 Edge.

If I don't have the always on clock showing on the watch I will not get any notification. Using it with a One Plus 2. If the screen is on I will get nothing. The screen has to be off and in the always on mode or else it doesnt work. I just got a email and my watch did ****. I hate this ****ing ****.
maybe a little of topic but cause its about vibration i thought i could post here
i have no issue with my watch not vibrating at least not as far as i know.
i was just wondering if i can change vibration patterns. i know i can change the strength but the quick 3 times vibration is a bit annoying. i would like to change it so something else.
also the vibration on AW was better in my opinion because it resembled the pattern that was set on the phone for that specific notification
The only thing you can change about vibration, in addition to off/weak/strong, is long buzz or not.
Wait .. is the gear s2 screen supposed to turn on and show a preview of the notification when you get one?
My s2 has simply been vibrating when a notification comes in and there is no change on the screen. I thought that was normal and also thought it was a silly way to design it
If i get a notification right now, I need to wake up the watch, swipe to the left screen and then click it to show details - a lot of moves
You have to set that in the settings.

yeah that's right isn't it. i got the same settings. hopefully there will be more options in a future update
My S2 will vibrate and light up (turned that on in settings) for incoming Texts and Phone Calls every time.
BUT for all other notifications it will not. When I get Google Now alerts or score updates from the ESPN app nothing happens. I am using the Modern face with one of the complications set to Notifications, and that will show me that I do have notifications but what use is that? Unless I look at the watch face to see the time I will never know I received these notifications. If I get a notifications I would like for it to alert me with a vibration. Every time, of all apps I choose.
Does this with a Sony Z3 Compact as well as a Xiaomi Mi4c both running 5.1.1.
This watch is a bust because I tested mine with my moto 360 2nd gen. The Gear S2 didnt get all notification if the screen was off. If it was showing the always on clock it would vib and show. Samsung needs to fix this ASAP. This is a watch that needs to tell me every notification I want.
Have you tried a Light or Factory reset of your S2? That fixed it for me, that or reinstalling the Gear app. I did both so, can't actually confirm which did it. Not having any problems getting all notifications.
I think you need and easy button, or try setting,if you can't find it , I can't help you
I have two of these and both do the same. Won't get notifications if the screen is off and not showing the always on clock. Using it with a note 5.
i have another issue. dont know it its the watch or the gear manager app. i wont get notifications for specific apps. the checkmark in the gear app wont stick. e.g. the greader app. also there are not all apps found in the gear manager app. does anyone know why thats so. for example the chrome app does not show in in notifications in the gear app.

Yes,
I have done both as well as switched phones and started from scratch. No notification vibration for anything but Text's and Phone Calls.
Is there a solution for this, or does my watch have to go back to the store. I'm "upgrading" from a pebble, but if I can't get a vibration to notify me of a new email, then it's a non-starter. It seems to me that I get vibrations for notifications on apps that were set up by default. But I'm not getting vibrations on any additional (third party) apps. I use e-notify and aquamail, none of these vibrate on notification. I saw on another forum that the phone must be set to vibrate for it to work, but I've tried this, and still nothing.
Is there a program that will allow me to get reminders? I use Touchdown as my regular calendar and I think I can use my Samsung calendar just for reminders but can't get S Voice to work from the GS2. Google Reminders is the best thing going. Of course, I can't feel the viberation but...

Do Not Disturb Whitelist, Gear S3

Hello, I've looked but can't seem to find this anywhere else but surely I'm not the only one looking for this feature?!
As a medical student I usually have my phone and watch in silent/do not disturb mode when studying/clinic/hospital etc. However I need some way for my wife to get a hold of me if something is emergent/urgent. I was hoping there would be a way to set the "do not disturb" function to block all but whatever app is on a whitelist and then have a messaging app that we only use for emergent/urgent situations on that list.
I think I figured out how to do this for the phone (Samsung Galaxy S9+) but I generally leave it in my bag/desk and just wear my watch. However even if the phone is in DND all the notifications still go to the watch unless it is also in DND... so if I could figure out how to get the S3 to only vibrate/sound to one messaging app (without going into the notification settings and turning all off and then all back on etc. each time) that would be ideal.
Does that make sense? Thoughts/suggestions???

General Have watch week and few questions issues

Ok using the watch pass few days and few questions. I am not using a Samsung phone (OP 7pro) and on android 11 and watch software up to date
Notifications are sporadic. I am not getting notified by noise or vibration on watch for some WhatsApp and gmails? I have them set up as allowed in notifications on wear app. I have 3 Gmail accounts set up but seem to only get notifications for one assigned to Samsung account?
Also, not fitness freak but does the watch auto detect say when you go for a walk/run? It seems to kick in when I am 5 minutes into the walk/run, well that’s when I get notified?
Also have display set to Raise wrist to wake but this is also sporadic and sometimes I have to touch the screen for it to wake
Battery seems to be fine and have not tested voice calls on watch yet but not missed any calls yet while phone in pocket
Anyone has same issues and any way they sorted it other than turning it on and off
Cheers
Mine auto detects walking after 10 minutes.

So does it count these 10 mins or does a 30 minute run only record as 20 minute?
Yes records from start.
Notifications especially from Gmail are flakey at best and that's with a Samsung phone, started to use Samsung email app and works fine.
Cheers
Tried to get Samsung email app from Play store said phone not compatible

Notification problems
Hello All Ive got the GW4 46mm BT classic paired with a Note20U both up to date , woke up this morning after watch been fine for a week and put my watch on but no notifications coming thru to the watch did quick restart on both no go. Reset...
forum.xda-developers.com
Yeah seems Samsung email app only works on Samsung phones
K3 email what is that? or any other email app that works with phone for notifications or I can try?
I think it's a Wear OS 3 problem and not a Samsung one
Yeah hopefully future updates can sort out notifications issues
How's everyone getting on regarding raise wrist to wake as it's temperamental for me
@funkyirishman , for the notifications, I had to go on the watch to the very bottom of the notifications settings, and tap "Show on Phone". Many of my phone's apps were toggled off including Gmail.
It's been much better after that.
