help figuring out how to overclock cm11.2014.01.07 nightly? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

can someone please help me out? i just figured out how to fix the battery drain thanks to android-andi! ever since flashing kernel test2.zip from android andi, my table has been on my battery charge for 3 days now! it used to last only 12 hours tops! so thanks android andi for all your work, cant wait to try omniROM 5.0.2. So back to my question, my Cm11 shows no overclock options. Is there something special i need to do?

This tablet platform and processor don't take well to overclocking, your best bet is to use a performance governor setting.

[Q] kernel

hello community. i am trying to get my brothers skyrocket battery life to last a little longer. i flashed PAC 4.3, everything works great except his battery life is dropping pretty fast. i know sometimes kernels can help with this. Can anyone link me to a good kernel that supports 4.3 for skyrocket? i looked thru the forums but could not find one. any help is appreciated. and if this has been answered a long time ago, i apologize for the repeat.
thank you in advance
I would get better battery stats and see what is using the battery and eliminate as many as those as you can. A kernel is not going to make a big difference.
Edit, see this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31974989

Some help for you

Well if you want a kernel for pac 4.3, here in the skyrocket forums I haven't seen any for pac, there is a just relaesed kernel for 4.4.2 called Moretz Kernal in the forums heres a link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2694688, that would require a 4.4.2 rom and the 4.4.2 pac rom might not work with it due the hybrid kernel it uses, I would backup the rom with either Titanuim back or somting or nandroid and go test a CM Monthly or one of the roms in the the forums for better batery, theres also this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2411161 to help cut down on the battery usage but remember to backup and read the first posts. Also the battery could be old and could contribute to the problem. Hoep this helps

[Q] Best kernel for OPO

Hi all I have this amazing device and I'm starting to flash some custom ROMs. Now I mount Paranoid Android 4.4.4 beta6 with franco.kernel r35
My battery life is less than I expect. I can run my screen for about 4/4.30 hours before my OPO shut down. Now I would know if you use another kernel or ROM and how can I improve my battery life. Thank you all for future answers.

[Discussion] !!ROMs!!

So as you all Guys know that falcon has a really Good development and has plenty of ROMs. Reply Down Below and lets see who's using which ROM Tell the battery and stability of the ROM (only if you want to ) so that it could help others decide which ROM to flash . Benchmarks screenshots are appreciated :good: :highfive:
PS - Im on NightShot unofficial cyanogenmod snapshot
Stock optimized 5.1 by lost101. Main reason battery life is around 50% after around 3 days.
If someone has a Rom that might be as good I'd be more than willing to try it.

Best kernel profiles

I have the latest nougat R.R. update + bhb kernel and I'm facing the problem with the battery shutting down at 15%. I've tried to get a balance between battery life and performance but I can't seem to get it. So I would like if you help me out checking what works for you.
Go read through the BHB kernel thread, where all the information related to kernel settings is.
Don't waste time creating a new thread for the same questions that have already been answered.

Refresher and opinions

Hi xda community, just got my OP6 and installed OB2 pie on it; it has been great so far, been getting 5-6hours of SOT and lots of standby time on it, but just wondering if i could squeeze a little more out of it. Now im planning to unlock and install custom kernels on it. I've read the tutorials and scanned different kernels.
Its not my first time on unlocking and flashing stuff, I've been doing this since i had the sony p1, but it's been a while (Galaxy s7 days..) since I've done this, and need a refresher. so i was just wondering with the help from you guys.
1) is 5-6hours SOT normal for OP6 running on OB2pie on stock kernel? i know SOT is subjective, but I've seen other going for more than that, or have i just been spoiled from my previous device which had 4000mah batt.
2)What kernel would you suggest in terms of battery life and stability? (Doesn't need to be boosted or overclocked, leaning on flash kernel and franken kernel)
3) if i flash a custom kernel now and oneplus releases the public release of OOS pie. Will updating reflash my kernel back to stock? Do i need to reflash a custom kernel again?
Hoping to hear from you guys and thanks a lot!

When you unlock bootloader, it will wipe phone. Second, I use and i am very happy with flash kernel. For me as a lite user on op6 on beta pie 2 with flash kernel, I get some were between 3 to 5 days on a single charge with sot of 6 to 8 hrs. Too me, this is good battery life. when updating, it will put stock kernel back every time.
