Hi!
I'm wondering if it's possible to flash Color OS rom with multirom while I'm on mahdi as internal and also blisspop
can I flash as many roms I'de like without effecting and screwing other roms even color os?
thanks and sorry for noob question
AFAIK we still cant flash coloros AS secondary on multirom. Sorry.. About flashing many ROMs, yes you can flash without screwing others, but some apps may start freak.. I found that for example Zenonia 5 was working on primary first but after playing on secondary it never started again on primary.

Hello,
I have 2 Mi4i phones and i have to encrypt them for my work (and my wife's work).
With Miui i can encrypt them, but i don't want to use this.
I want CM13 or Lin14.1
Problem is that on both custom rom's, i can choose to encrypt.
After that it shows the Android robot for a second or 2, then reboot's the phone.
After the restart the phone is not encrypted and every time i try it, i get the same result.
Both rom's are clean installed, no extra's are installed (no kernel etc.)
Is this a bug, or do i have to change something to get it to work?
Anybody any idea what is going wrong?

Just signed up here first post to the threads but you guys been helping me out for years different devices programs huge thanks to everyone here.
New to this device I'm starting to really dig it ran couple stable 8.1 ROMs got magisk+systemless xposed running. I previously dualbooted lineage nougat with stock on my droid bionic using safestrap(wanted to add a gingerbread) before getting this phone. I flashed the Multirom Twrp but app said I was having kexec kernel issues then ended up bootlooping os or getting black screen few times ended up just full reflashing cm firmware putting regular twrp back up.
Seen video of multibooting many ROMs( but I assume older non Oreo ROMs) and Ubuntu touch from a flash drive. Is it possible for me to bootup with a safe stock, ubuntu, and a 8.1 ROM(read Aosp extended is compatible but couldnt flash a kernel on top of it)? Couldnt find stock cm 6.0.1 bacon zip was gunna try and flash think it was ap kernel again over that but I tried a couple kernels didn't know which one was the right one.
Is there any newer Multirom alternatives or proper current kernel patch link? Does EFI droid work better could I still get ubuntu? Any advice would be appreciated pointers in the right direction tried to do some digging trying to really superpower my device if I can before I log into my all apps and stuff again. Is this a wild goose chase? Or was I like one step away
hey all Im having constant niggly issues with A10 on my Oneplus7 pro and its starting to drive me nuts
things like dropping the wifi constantly even after resetting all wifi settings
google assistant suddenly stops working
fingerprint sensor becomes flaky
so i was thinking of installing a custom ROM if anyone can suggest one.
I assume I would need to root the phone to do so so would need some help witht that too
What do you recommend? I have a one plus 7 pro 5G EU version
TIA Bart
There are plenty of guides here on how to bootloader unlock, flash a custom recovery and then root your phone. Only 2 need to be done to flash a custom rom however that might not even be needed have you tried doing a full factory reset? Or doing a OnePlus recovery msm factory reload?
Edit: you hate nagging bugs don't go custom roms we got some great ones. Vibration and Haptics, Auto-Brightness and Vowifi issues but we tolerate them for customizability and improvements over other broken codes. So it's a duality.
Thanks for your reply
I've done a full factory reset about 6 times in the past 6 months.
Also OnePlus support did a full msm reset too
Which Rom would you recommend as there are so many to choose from?
And which 2 things are a must to flash a Rom?
You must be bootloader unlocked and you must have a custom recovery installed to flash a custom rom. There is no perfect custom rom it's all choices. Read the threads, listen to people. Read reviews, look at videos and pictures. Then take the leap and flash it, don't like it oh well flash a different one... WELCOME TO THE ADDICTION OF MODDING.
Thanks bud
Many moons ago I flashed a custom Rom for an s5 and used TWRP so hopefully proces not too different now.
Hi there,
I hope this question belongs here but if not just let me know i'll move it to the appropriate place.
I'm currently in the process of testing custom roms. Just installed lineage OS and enjoying it although noticed a lot of my blacks have this weird blue tinge to it and not sure if it's lineage OS or not but regardless I would like to test a few other custom roms.
I would really not want to keep installing all my apps and setting everything up once I've tested and decide I want to use a specific rom and I was wondering if there's a way to back up your entire rom as an image so I can just reflash and away I go with google set up and logged in and all my apps etc. That way if I wanted to go back to LineageOS for example I can just flash this img and I have gapps set up, my apps are alreayd installed and logged in and everythings customised the way it currently is.
I've heard tianium backup does something similar but not sure if it's what I need. I also know I can do a NAND backup but not sure if that'd technically cause issues with things being modified.
Greatly appreciate any and all help!
Thanks.
If device's Android is version 6.0 ( and higher ) and is rooted you can dd or tar each existing partition.
Since OxygenOS is really close to Stock Android, is there still a good reason to root or flash custom roms?
The only reason I can think of now is the font. Really hate that there is no option to change it.
my 2 cents about it https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/best-custom-rom-for-8t.4313919/post-85417879
I myself also want to flash a custom ROM because the stock one doesn't have many good options for AOD screen. Aside from that, I see there's no reason for flashing a custom ROM. Sure, in the past Oxygen OS 11 was kind of buggy, which really made me to switch to another ROM but it's now somewhat stable
android is dead since being forced to keep system read only. I used to flash my rom then flash a minimal gapps package but seems like my new phone only has the option to have rom with no gapps or rom with every google app that ever was, completely removing my ability to use aosp versions. maybe im wrong but I don't have the weeks of spare free time to keep up with this cat and mouse bs with google especially now that they've hired mr. wu

Huh? You can flash minimal Gapps packages, or just the gapps options you want. There are configurable Gapps options? I write and make changes to the system on several of my devices? What do you want to change that you can't?
Personally I wouldn't want to run anything other than a custom ROM, but to each their own. I don't buy devices that don't have LOS support.
