NFC issues w/ Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro (SGH-I547)? - Android General

Hello all,
I have three Rugby Pro (SGH-I547) and for the life of me can't get the NFC to work. I have tried ICS AT&T and JellyBean AT&T with no luck. Have tried using a NFC tag and NFC comm with my Galaxy Mega, nothing works. My Mega can read the NFC tag w/o any problem. Confirmed it's enabled, even found an AT&T web page that explained how to turn it on. All three phone same issue. Does NFC not work on these phones?
Thx in advance.

[Q] Does the Skyrocket have NFC?

I know that the OG SGS2 on AT&T is capable of NFC (thought from what I understand, it's not quite enabled in the software), and I've read that the T-Mo variant is too.
I'm looking to upgrade and am likely going to get either of AT&T's new LTE phones (The Vivid or the Skyrocket), and am trying to decide which. (I'm upgrading from an older phone, not an OG SGS2, so I'm not looking for a discussion on which SGS2 is better. Also, I'm in Atlanta, where LTE is live, so I'm not looking for a discussion on the merits of LTE, either.) Overall, I like the Vivid best, but would love to have the NFC. So if the Skyrocket does in fact have NFC, I'd probably go with that.
My question is: Can anybody confirm whether either phone has NFC? I've found conflicting things all over the internet, and searching XDA hasn't turned up anything definitive.
Thanks for the help!
I have seen the skyrocket myself and I can verify that the battery inside of it says Near Field Communication. I however, can not verify if it is an unlocked feature as it is in the OG one.
Great! Thanks for the confirmation! Any idea about the Vivid? (I think that one's more of a long shot, as HTC has not released any NFC capable phones yet, but I can hope, right?)

Get the skyrocket if you can! Super AMOLED+ is the best screen out there. HTC lost its flair recently. Samsung v/s iPhone it is now!
If it's disabled in software, you're better off with the I777. We're a LOT closer to reenabling it.
(as in - I can now read tags, but Google Wallet FCs.)
The manual states on pg 138 that it is disabled and will be activated at future date.
Hope these skyrocket threads can be moved to their correct destinations...

I had the same question. It's a p.i.t.a. to find info about NFC. Samsung is worst. A handset without NFC chip, another with disabled NFC chip and a handset with enabled NFC. We talk about one and the same model. Some manufacturers and most carriers don't give info about NFC chip.
bjg222, HTC has the Incredible S NFC (yet only in China), and the Amaze (T-Mobile)! I don't have info if NFC is enabled or not.
At NFC-Phones.org you find available handsets listed by country and by carrier, also a summary-list with info about the NFC features. If the Phone has Tag, Pair, Share and secure payments enabled. Still many question marks, feedback from owners is hard to find, but working on it every day. Joao
how to enable NFC
The only way I am aware of how to enable The NFC functionality is to upgrade to ICS. I did and NFC is now an option to activate. Don't know how it works, though. No one near where I live is making use of that tech.

[Q] NFC on Galaxy S II

Some have NFC, and some don't. Does anyone have a more complete list, or have any tips on determining whether or not a given SGS2 has NFC? I am specifically looking at the Sprint version.
The Sprint version does not claim that it has NFC, but a random youtube post (most reliable forum on the internet) seemed to be claiming that it had NFC hardware, but the stock image that came on it does not support it.
I would love it if I could just pick up an SGS2 from sprint, and have NFC magically show up when I drop cm7.1 on there, but that seems like a pretty risky bet. Can anyone confirm or deny the existence of the NFC hardware on these phones?

Can't get Wifi Direct to work between Note 10.1 and Galaxy Nexus LTE Jellybean

I can't seem to get this feature to work between my Samsung Galxy nexus LTE and the Note 10.1. It shows that they are connected but the Galaxy Nexus doesn't give me an option in the sharing pane to use wifi direct....although I get that sharing option in the pane of my Note 10.1. The problem is I want to share things from my phone to the 10.1 not vice versa. Has anyone used this feature yet? or had issues?
Althou it's working well with my SGS3, it's impossible to share files with a friend of mine with his galaxy nexus, has something to do with only the api but not the protocol supported on GN.

Same here, that's like the first thing I tried when I got my note (after rooting), I tried to send my titanium backup folder to my Note from the Jelly LTE Nexus. The crap just kept disconnecting... wtf?

G920F NFC not working?

Hello everyone,
So I've got this phone, my Brother had it for few months. I've bought some NFC tags and enabled the NFC but it can't detect. It's working with another phones. Not sure if it was working while he was using it.
Tried flashing another firmware but it bricked, and used the smart connect software to revert to the factory settings.
Has anyone had issues like this?

[HELP] Galaxy S6 G920I - Samsung Pay, WiFi Calling ?

Hello Guys,
I have an International variant of Galaxy S6 [G920I] and i have been wondering if there are still ways to enable the WiFi calling and is there a way to make Samsung Pay work on my device ?
I Understand that i have to search, but i probably tried everything and even tweeted out Samsung Support if there is a way to do it. From what i know WiFi calling used to work changing few values in previous builds and Samsung Pay just wait forever to get it working. So what do you think ? Is there a way complex or simple to make any of them working ?
