Hello, I'm a new OPO owner and right now I'm on latest stock rooted CM11S. I love the phone and I was wondering if the Powered USB OTG cables (to charge the phone while using an USB device) work, and if they do, the stock CM kernel is enough or a custom one is needed.
Example of one such cable.
All the threads about it on the OPO forums are very inconclusive so I thought it was best to ask here.

Hello fellow G2x users. Sorry if this question has been asked before. I have used the search function but still haven't found a solution. I just received my refurbished G2x from T-mobile insurance today since my HD2 no longer charges. I'm ready to root and flash a rom on the phone but when I connect the USB cable that came with the phone, it would not detect it and the USB debugging mode does not pop up. I went to Setting - Applications - Development, and made sure the USB debugging is checked but nothing. Also downloaded the USB cable driver from the LG website, still nothing. So any help would be appreciated because I want to get this phone running on CM7 and try these kernels! Thank you.

Why ask this question in two threads? Could be a bad usb cord or uninstall all lg drivers and reinstall them again. Make sure your phone is not plugged into the computer while you install the drivers for the first time also. Then restart your pc and then plug your g2x, should be fine then.
I realized I posted in the wrong section that's why. Thanks, will try that right now.
I am expieriencing a strange and very annoying problem with my Nexus s lately. For some days now, the device does not activly recognize a plugged in usb cable (and charger there for).
This results in me not being able to transfer files from or to my phone or access adb / fastboot. However charging works - without the phone displaying, that it is being charged.
I had a spare battery at home, which I didnt need until now, so I unboxed the battery and put it in, to no avail. The device is per se usable, but does not communicate out of the usb port.
Can you please help me troubleshoot / solve this problem?
/edit: some additional information:
If the phone is turned off and I plug in the usb cable, which is connected to the charger or my pc, it immediatly turns on and boots up.

what rom do You use? I had a problem with USB connection on SlimBeam. Flashing different rom helped, just download and flash it through your device, without using PC.

maybe You should try reflashing rom, or flash different one with full wipe. if it won't help it might be a hardware issue.

I am afraid it is indeed an hardware issue. I just reflashed Rascarlos rom, which I had on my sd card. I wiped system cache dalvik + factory reset for good messure.
Well, I still got my Nexus 7 3G as my device for daily use. Guess no more flashing and developing on my good old Nexus S. It will serve as a classic phone as long as it still charges its battery.
What a shame ... such a great device. Didn't let me down once until these days
I have the standard rom and recovery on my TF700 (US) at the moment with rom 10.6.1.14.10 installed off the asus website.
My tablet is unlocked and previous had custom roms (and TWRP) installed.
However I wanted to wipe my tablet and reset it before doing a fresh install of rom to see how it was different.
I however cannot find my PC cable anywhere to connect the tablet to my PC and fastboot the SU privileges and recovery to my tablet, so am stuck at the moment with an unrooted tablet so cannot (i think) do anything.
I tried framaroot from here, but that does not work on this TF700 (only for phones I presume)
Has anyone a suggestion how to restore root and then move onto custom roms again please? I will have a cable next week, so it's not the end of the world, just irritating at the moment.
Your charging cable is not the original? It doubles as a USB cable....
But no, without USB cable you are stuck for the moment.

Charger is the usb one, but the charger and cable has gone walkies. I am using another charger but that has integrated cable and no usb end.
Oh well, looks like i have to live with stock for the weekend. Actually its not too bad, but will be interested to see the speed change when i go back to customs
[Q] Can't get OTG to wok on NEXUS 4
I've flashed stock Kitkat and Installed Ziddey's custom kernel, got an OTG cable and made a Y USB cable, doesn't work =/ the only thing that happens is the phone charges.
The OTG cable is working just fine with the dok i tried to connect, I checked both on another device, the only thing I did to the stock android is installing the kernel.
I've also downloaded an app to check if OTG is enabled on my device and the result is positive.
Seems like the only thing I could have messed up is the Y cable, but it pretty simple- connect the wires to their matching color and isolate.
Please help me figure this one out, and if someone can post this on Ziddey's Thread I'd be grateful :silly:
Hello
I have owned this HTC Desire S for more than two years now and it is time to retire it to some else in the family and get a new phone.
The problem is I'm running Cyanogenmod on it and the camera will probably not be good enough for the girl that I will give it to.
I want to remove this version of Cyanogenmod but the problem is that the USB port does not allow my computer to detect the phone when I try and flash roms and the like. I need to be able to do this since I have an unclocked bootloader but S-On (Or the other way, point is I need a PC to flash) The weird this is that although I am unable to switch to mass storage on a PC I can access the mass storage function on a TV using the same USB cable. I have been able to play all sorts of files but my computer just cannot read anything.
Does anyone have a clue what the problem could be?
Thanks for any of the replies and help I will get.
What operating system is on your pc?
Have you tried different USB ports on the PC?
it may be ur custom rom fault to for eg . i encountered sam problem with pacman rom later i flashed SVHD Rom and problem solved
