I notice on my Nexus 6P, it tends to connect to band 12 quite often. At home where I have 3 bars of band 4, -122 dBm, restarting the radio will force the 6P to connect to band 12. I can't replicate this on the Note 5. I actually haven't seen band 12 on my Note 5 before.
Do you have this issue in band 12 areas? The baseband is COKC.

I tend to also check my Note 5's Service Mode now and then. It appears the phone prefers Band 4 over 12, which makes sense because Band 4 has much higher bandwidth than Band 12. There have more been instances lately where I will have Carrier Aggregation showing Band 4 and 12 together. The only time the phone will primarily use Band 12 is if I'm deep in a building and Band 4's signal is too low.
If you use #*2263# in the dialer, you can tweak these settings. You can force Band 12 if you want to for testing.
Here is a thread on this topic:
Hello guys
Im facing a little problem with my mi note 3.
With me previous device (Google pixel), i got signal (4G or 3G) on every place. With this mi note, when i got inside somewhere, got no signal. Into my house, signal normally is not full on pixel (about 3-4 bars) on mi note, 0 bars, 0 signal.
Only outside I got some signal.
This device is new.
There is anyone facing this same problem? Any solution?

The Mi Note 3 supports a lot fewer signal bands than the Pixel. It's possible this phone simply doesn't support the bands you need for a good signal. Where are you located?

Im from Brazil.
2 months ago I was using a mi5s, and it was working normally as the Google pixel.
I dissassembled it now, and realized that the antenna cable is slightly deanified. I'll try to change it. But for do it, i'll need to find another antenna cable with the same size of the original.

Xiaomi not only makes a confusing number of phone models but sometimes they make varients of the same model that have different band support depending on if the intended market is China, India or Global. The China and Global versions of the Note 3 have different band support. I wouldn't assume that because one model of Xiaomi phone worked perfectly in Brazil other models will automatically work perfectly as well. But I'm actually pretty new to Xiaomi phones so you might know way more about them than I do. Good luck with your repair.

I found the problem. Was a antenna signal cable (hardware). Just replace it with a new one and my device is new again.
Thank you for your attention!
Hi Mi Note 10 "Radio Off - No Network" is a hardware issue or software? I got my phone hardbricked and recovers through test point method, so then this is issue is coming. Any idea?
Hi everybody!
I'm thinking about buying this 5G model but there is an issue I found out in a similar model I owned (Mi 10T lite 5G) , and I read in some forums that it can affect the Mi 10 Lite 5G model too.
Does the hotspot function work for more than an hour? especially if you use the smartphone from time to time as you use the function or (oddly! ) if you change the position, inclining it a bit or leaving it standing. Can anybody try that for me or at least tell me if they did have this kind of problem in the past?
Thanks in advance
If number of user connected to network are high. Then some user got disconnected from network. But after sometime you can get internet.
There is no issue with hotspot.
I received my Tencent ROG 5 the other day (12gb / 256gb varient) and I am having a terrible experience with it in regards to wifi / 4G connectivity
My provider is Sky Mobile (O2) and I am connecting to band 20 towers with full strength. But speeds are very slow, lucky if they peak over 2mbps, sometimes they don't even break 1mbps. Yet if I move the simcard back into my old Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite or even my Galaxy S7 they connect no problem and speeds are 15mbps+
I am also having the same issue on wifi, I have tried it on various routers at various locations with the connection ranging from 20mbps - 300mbps yet the ROG 5 won't peak above 4 - 5mbps at the most. Yet other phones / tablets etc can hit the full speeds fine.
I have upgraded the phone to WW_18.0840.2103.26 just to see if that made any difference but it's not helped. The phone only arrived 4 - 5 days ago but If I can't find some way to resolve these issues looks like I may have to return it.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on my issues, or is anyone else having the same problem?
Make sure you are using slot 1
