Are watch band univeral and fit the gear 2? - Samsung Gear 2

Can any watch band fit the gear 2 or it have to be custom made to fit it? I seen lots of watch band online for sale but not sure if it would fit my gear 2. What is it that I have to look at for a watch band?

It has to be 22mm.

This is how the one I bought looked online.

I have no idea what this guy is saying, but in response to OP.
If you're liking for a watch to pair up with your phone, the one you linked isn't what you're looking for. It's a standalone phone that fits on your hand. Look at the pictures: it takes a SIM card. It's not going to work like the Galaxy Gear does.
But if you're looking to leave the Nexus 4 for some dinky watch, then this is what you're looking for.

Gear 2/Neo Strap replacement?

I remember reading that the Gear 2 was compatible with .22mm watch bands.
I was wondering if anyone has tried replacing the straps?

Is that a 22mm band? It looks smaller, like maybe a 20mm.

I'm not sure on the exact width of the band but it's designed for 18-22mm use.

I would assume that means it's 18mm, so will work in anything above 18mm. Thank you for the reply. The reason I asked, it appears there is a tiny gap on either side of the band where it connects to the watch. I am going to order a 22mm band, but I have to find one I like. I do like the stock band, but wish it had one more hole on the strap. It fits just a little too snug for my liking.

Thank you. That confirms my assumption. The band itself is 18mm, but there is an adjustable shim or something inside the band to keep it from sliding back and forth.
The effect though makes it appear that there is a gap on both sides of the watch band. A standard 22mm band should not have that small gap.
Thank you greatly for the photo.

nice strap!
looks like 22mm is the way to go then.
looks good to me!
All the 22mm watchbands I was using w/ my Pebble work with the Neo. Problem being, the NATO straps cover up the heart rate monitor and make it hard to charge without loosening the strap. I just got the 2 piece 22mm version of those straps and they work great. Do yourself a favor and pick up the pin remover tool to make switching bands fast and easy.

Worth buying it now?

Hey guys!
Is it worth buying the sw2 now? I heard that it had some issues at release with the button on the side and the stability of the firmware. Did it improve in newer firmwares? Is it worth using it with the xzu for quick replying on whatsapp ? Is a sw3 planned? I would appreciate any help. Thanks guys ! I am not sure if I should buy one but actually I really would like to. Just want to be 100% sure if its worth.

I'm planning to buy this smartwatch too and chose this one over android wear because it's just so awkward to talk to your watch lol but the question is where do I buy it... Bestbuy suddenly says this item can no longer be shipped to stores on every single store and I can't really find any other stores that sell it :/

I have 2 of these Sony's and as much as they have niggles (hardware and software) they only cost £70 each. I couldn't resist the Android Wear so purchased the LG G Watch for more than the price of both Sonys. The LG is going back to Google.
Pro's and Con's of all these devices so only you can decide what's right for you.
But until the beautiful Moto 360 is out, the Sony will be my choice of wrist gadget.
Yes, specially i think most shops around the world they dropped the price of Sony Smartwatch 2, It may not be the coolest and latest watch to date but it got a lot of available apps, better battery life than any smartwatch out there(except Pebble), Design is one among the best,
All of Android Wear LG G Watch and Gear Live(and maybe Moto 360) they don't last more than 1 day, and both of them require lots of swiping to do something.
I think I am going to Buy it next week. Very excited!

I got mine already and it is amazing!! The funny thing is that I went to a random bestbuy store in a random mall and I asked a random person and she was like: oh a Sony smartwatch? We have those right over there! Then I went there and was shocked when I saw that there was only 1 left and it was in the right color and had a metal band xD still can't believe it lol!

Please don't buy this watch i've Sony SW2 and also Samsung Galaxy Gear. Absolutely i can say real SMART watch is Galaxy Gear, SW2's only name called SMART actually its totally dumb, if buy SW2 you got only some changeable wallpaper and watch face. But If buy Gear (not Gear 2) you will got real smart watch, you can develop android apps and you can run apps without phone. SW2, except some very limited things nothing can do without smart phone, because all apps installing and running on the phone. But with Galaxy Gear, you can transfer APK files directly to watch and you can run this APPs on the watch without phone. With Gear you can develope android apps and install them on Gear directly.

If you were SMART enough you would've read the bottom line of his post and you would know that he has a xperia z and not a Samsung device so a galaxy gear ain't gonna work
AND pretty much all galaxy gears get sold with the tizen OS on it and that can't do the things you mention and of course you can spend your time on downgrading the watch to android but again something like a watch should work out of the box

Yes 20mm. Regular thickness will do. Thicker is fine too, but if it's too thick it may not fit right with the strap as those heavy-duty bars are usually for big clunky watches.

Can you post a pic of you watch with the strap on the left? I'm very interested in that one and am curious to know how it looks. Not too fond of the mesh one personally, but that's still better than the stock strap IMO.
So the pic with the GEAR S2 non classic with the metal band, it looks like he modified an extension or bought one that allows a typical 20mm band attachment. If you look closely, you will see the pins sticking out on the first knuckle. Interesting... is this homebrew?

I bought an Original Hoco brand from Alie-Express.com. Normally this band cost like 99 euro here in Europe. I got it for like 30 dollars. Looks and feels verry great!
Milanse loop 20mm on Gear S2 Sport :3

Can anyone confirm?

Are the LTE models are thicker (Due to SIM and Speaker) than the Bluetooth models like they were for the Gear S2 last year? I know the Gear S3 has a speaker regardless this time, But not sure if the built in LTE capabilities added any bulk.
I have my AT&T S3 coming tomorrow by FedEx, sight unseen this time, because I wasn't able to locate a demo anywhere.
Thanks!
