your model will not work at all on T-mobile LTE (which needs band 2, 4, 12)
your model will only get 3G in refarmed 1900mhz areas
your model will get 2G/ EDGE
you should return/sell that model, and get another model (wait for D6616 official model with band 12 / wifi callin gsupport), or get D6603/D6633/D6643

TL-10: Compatible with Japanese Frequencies?

Sorry if this is an idiotic question to be asking, but here goes:
I'm going to Japan, and was planning on getting a prepaid data SIM from so-net for my stay. Here are the bands they say are needed for the device to work on the network, either on LTE or 3G.
LTE (Xi®) :
·Band 1 (2100MHz)
·Band 19 (800MHz)
·Band 21 (1500MHz)
·Band 3 (1800MHz)*Limited to the Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka areas
3G (FOMA®)
·Band 1 (2100MHz)
·Band 19 (800MHz)

My question is, I know the TL-10 has some of these frequencies (band 1 and 3 for LTE, and band 1 for 3G). However, are all of them required for you to be able to connect to the network on either LTE or 3G (i.e, would I require a device with both 2100MHz and 800MHz supported to connect on a 3G signal)? Thanks in advance.

Hello, there are never idiotics questions...
All of these frequencies are not required to be able to connect to the network. The only downside is that you won't get an optimal connection in some places where frequencies are not supported by your phone. For example, in an area with only Band 19 LTE coverage, you're connection will be in 3G instead of 4G.

Cheers for the reply :good: I was led to believe you needed multiple bands to connect, because Wind Mobile here in Canada requires both 1700 and 2100 MHz supported on a device for it to be compatible with the network.

My P8Max Cannot Connect To 5Ghz 802.11 AC

My P8Max Cannot connect to 5Ghz 802.11 ac
My P8Max Cannot connect to 5Ghz 802.11 ac. It has no problem connecting to the 2.4Ghz N. It can see the .11 ac , but when I try to connect is says connection denied.
I have 2 other devices that can connect with the 5Ghz band, no problems. I also seem to have a problem connection to any 4G or LTE. The best I can see is H or H+.
Are these things connected?

Hi coxy665,
What is the LTE band you need in your country & operator? Have you veryfied if the P8 Max actually supports that frequency band?
Kind regards,

Hi there,
Check at the Rogers Community Forum here, with Q&A on network and frequencies.
I think you'll find your answer there.
I'm not sure I am allowed to post a link to another forum, so if I am wrong here, Moderator, kindly remove my post.

Sorry but no, there's nothing you can do to fix that.
