My device Mororola Razr D1 it's 'Brick' after, downgrade (Kit Kat to Jelly Bean), using Motorola RSD
Help Me to revive my phone please
( I not speak englhis)
Hi,
I can't find anything relevant on XDA for your devices issue. You would probably be best to try flashing the stock kit Kat firmware again. With RSD. I can say, that downgrading the Moto X from kit Kat to anything lower usually results in a bricked device. It's the same with many Motorola devices. They cannot be downgraded safely. Some can be fixed flashing the version you were on before downgrading and some can't. Only a service center can usually help those.
You will need to register on XDA and ask for further help or ideas here,
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
You can't even downgrade from a higher kit Kat version to a lower one on the X either. No downgrading at all.

Hi i have a problem, i am trying to put the stock rom in my moto x, couse now i have on my decive the liquidsmooth 4.4.4 but im tired of it couse of bugs. I cant use my bluetooth on my car and i cant use the microphone on whatsapp but whatever.... I already followed many guides but everytime i found the same error.
So as first i downloaed the stock rom from the motorola web site. I download the FR version 4.4.2 cause my moto x is the xt1052 variant.
Than i istalled all the drivers and the motorola device manager. After that i 2 different metod but both gave me the same error.
The first one was manually flashing the stock rom with the prompt command adb bla bla bla but there is always the error ( Downgrade security version.....)
the second time i tryd using RSD Lite and same happen.
I already modified the file removing (<step operation="getvar" var="max-download-size" />)
What can i do? Sorry for my bad englis:crying:h
Hi,
It sounds to me like you're trying to downgrade your Android version. That's a very bad idea on a Moto X, and usually ends in bricking the device. Whatever the last stock Android version you were on, is the one you need to return to.
This guide has a "returning to stock" section. You can also ask for help here,
> Moto X > Moto X General > [REF]The Complete Moto X Guides/Information Thread
Good luck!
Here is another guide with videos also,
Thanks to @Perseus71 for the link!

Hi everyone
I have a GSM HTC M8 which used to run Kit Kat 4.4.4 stock with Sense.
I wanted to convert to GPE with the official RUU, so I set out to do that and getting to the S Off section I encountered a problem;
Obviously, firewater didn't work. Therefore I was stuck with an unlocked bootloader from HTCdevs and the insecure kernel InsertCoin.
I downloaded Sunshine, hoping it works for me, but it wasn't compatible with InsertCoin -.-
after that, I downloaded the near-stock ARHD 4.4.4 Rom, installed it and SunShine gives me (Incompatible)
OK! so I followed a thread here for a multicarrier lollipop 5.0.1 Rom which works perfectly, but still giving me the same InsertCoin error when I try to use Sunshine.
QUESTION IS: are there any custom Roms that are guaranteed to work with SunShine ? anything else I need to know?
all I want is to flash the GPE official RUU and receive OTA updates and live happily ever after, if you can help I will love you to death.
Thanks a lot for reading this keep being awesome
Hi,
There's never any guarantees, but Maximus HD worked for many. However, if you are 4.4.4...some have had trouble. If you're Verizon see the update at the very beginning of post one here,
> General discussion > Paid Software Announcement and Discussion > [Android][Unlock/S-OFF] SunShine for modern Motorola & HTC devices
You can ask for help there too... But the devs give better support if you go to their site and get support there.
Good luck!

Oh, and I doubt it works at all on Lollipop, but maybe I'm wrong. Read the last few pages of that thread to see what others are saying.
Thanks a ton for your help
But apparently (and after I've tried stock Maximus HD, GPE 5.0.1 DigitalHigh) and receiving the incompatible message, I went to the sunshine IRC and beaups told me that it's a known issue and should be resolved in the next major SunShine release around January.
So I'm basically chilling with the GPE 5.0.1 ROM until I can actually get the real deal.
Anyone having the same issue I suggest you wait it out.. only 2 weeks till january
Good! ?

Hello.
I have an unrooted At&t HTC One M7. It is sim unlocked along with a locked boot loader and S-ON.
It is currently running on 4.3 Android version and the Software number is 3.17.202.3
I just want to update it to 4.4.2 (kitkat) using RUU File.
I need the link of the RUU file version for this.
I would love to update it without doing s-off and any other unlocking/locking thing.
if there is a way, please do let me know.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi there,
You'd be best served asking for help from the experts who own your device here:
AT&T HTC One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Also please see this thread: AT&T 4.4.2 OTAPkg.zip [Updated to Sense 6]
Good luck
I am new to android actually. Would you mind telling me the exact steps for the manual update.
Just go to that threads and read/ask there for all you need.

Hi everyone
I have a retail UK Moto G LTE totally stock I have upgraded to lollipop and totally hate it its actually making me not want to use the phone lol
I want to go back to Kitkat 4.4.4 my phone is model xt1039
I don't see a guide that covers my issue specifically and I really don't want to brick the phone
I would be greatful if someone could point me to the right "stock" kitkat 4.4.4 for my phone
a nd a push in the right direction if flashing it.
Thankyou guys.
now that you have one of the latest bootloaders (lollipop), you will have to proceed with extreme caution not to flash the bootloader with an old one ( in which case you will hardbrick the phone). however you can downgrade to 4.4.4 without any issues minus screen flickering till you put the phone to sleep.

Dear Friends,
I have Moto X 1052 First Gen 5.1 Lollipop bought in India. I want to root it and flash Nougat 7.0. I searched this forum for tutorials but they mentioned the android version as 4.4.2 or 4.4.4.
Since I am on 5.1, kindly guide me. I would like to take nandroid backup first, so that I can restore the stock rom if something goes wrong.
A while ago I took adb backup of my phone from my linux desktop but I could not open it to check whether the backup was satisfactory.
I am feeling nervous coz its a costly phone and unfortunately I dont have back up phone.
Please guide.
Thank you,

What can I do for you?
