Hi all,
I've been using YouTube on my Chromecast for a while now. I started using it when I had KitKat on my phone and streaming to Chromecast just worked fine. Now, on 5.0.1, it disconnects from Chromecast after 1 minute or so.. (Only happens when YouTube is in background) Chromecast is still playing the video but I can't adjust the volume or change the video anymore. I'll need to reconnect for that..
I don't have this problem on my nexus 7 2013 running official stock 5.0.1.
Does anyone have similar problem? Or does anyone know a solution?

Hi,
Some of you may remember me from my "Android Kit Kat 4.4.2 on Motorola Xoom' thread. My Xoom WI-FI now has the latest ROM
4.4.2-20140207-1805+0100-wingray-HOMADE. I just loaded this version about 45 minutes ago. Earlier today I loaded the Netflix Android App
from the Google Play store. I started to play an episode of the Netflix Series House of cards. When the episode started the subtitles (captions) were enabled. So I touched the little icon on the screen and I chose no captions. Once I did that the program continued to play without any sound what so ever. So, I tried another program. I chose a Movie that I had never watched on any TV, Blu-ray player or other device.
The same phenomena occurred. Movie played with subtitles on, I turn them off and the sound stops playing. Yes, I even plugged in Headphones.
This Phenomena does not occur when i play movies through my FIREFOX browser on my PC nor does it occur on my TV or Blu-ray player.
So, I called NETFLIX tech Support. They had me try several things (like use another WIFI network in this case the WIFI hotspot on my phone) to see if the problem was related to my router.
Also, on my WIFI XOOM Tablet the playback of netflix Streaming freezes and the buffering circle spins. This may be also related to issues with the ROM and the Netflix Android app. I do have a Wireless N network and I am sitting in the room where the Router is.
None of these problems occurred with the last GOOGLE approved ROM.
The Netflix tech found my thread from January. It is possible that NETFLIX techs will be posting to this forum. So, has anyone had any issues with NETFLIX using this ROM?
Thank you in advance

I have not experienced any netflix issues with this ROM. I even use it through chromecast. I've tried what you stated and did not experience the issue.

I can confirm the behavior experienced by bigfootmd. Netflix is very sensitive and will stop playing sound. If you exit netflix and restart, sound is back. In addition, the HDMI output freezes and becomes unuseable, independent of the sound problem.
I am running 4.4.2.20140215-1029+0100-wingray-HOMEMADE
Domunus: when you play through Chromecast, your feed goes directly to the Chromecast device and does not pass through your xoom. Your xoom is simply a remote control. This is probably why you do not see the problem. When I cast, I do not see the problem either.
Hi,
I'm using my Nexus 5 to play music via blutooth in my car. At the same time it is connected via blutooth to an ELM327-OBD-II-dongle to display engine data using torque. This worked fine on Lollipop (stock, rooted).
Since upgrading to Marshmallow (stock, rooted) audio stutters (a short "break" every few seconds). The problem disappears when I stop torque; I also tried using a different music player, but that did not help.
Has anybody experienced something similiar and/or have an idea what I could try to fix this?
Thank you,
Joerg
Turning of "Fast communication" and turning on "ELM AutoTiming (slow)" instead in Torque's ODB2 adapter settings resolved the audio problem; updates in torque are much slower then before, but that's ok for me.

Hi all!
I'm experiencing issues with Chromecast on my h8. Especially when using Netflix. These are the main problems:
Netflix will not start casting unless I close the Netflixapp and start it again. Sometimes I need to disconnect and reconnect the phone to the wifi to get it working.
Then while watching an episode and activating the phone screen, Netflix does not indicate any casting even if the episode is still playing on the Chromecast. Restarting Netflix can fix this sometimes.
On another phone (Nexus 6p) on the same wifi/Chromecast I have no probs like this.
The H8 is unrooted and all stock. Latest available fw here in Sweden. I've made sure Netflix and Google Home is not on the power saving function in settings.
What else can I do/try?
Thanks for any help with this!

Try miracast which is a replacement for chromecast
Hi all, does anyone use this phone to cast to Chromecast? I cannot get this to successfully Cast to any of my four devices which are Android TV, Samsung TV and two Chromecasts. I've tried using VLC player and Plex to cast and the same thing happens with both, the TV screen goes blank you can see it's trying to do something, and after a few minutes of this it just disconnects and fails. Occasionally it will play about a minute of something and then just disconnect and fail, this is very frustrating. The weird thing is that casting YouTube works fine.
Can anyone with this phone confirm casting works or not for you? Any ideas on how I can fix this?
Thanks!
casting fow.chromacst works perfect for my, chinese x2.pro
