Yep it's a known issue, to fix it jus do a reboot. It happens when you let the screen turn off by itself when a video is paused.

I haven't opened YouTube yet. I was on my main user and then switched to another User on the tablet. Opened YouTube but it would not work.
Does it work on the main user if you switch back?

Nope. I did reboot, and stayed on the main user and I was able to play a video until I switched users.

@BuQQzz the miscellaneous battery drain bug is still here, I went into developer options and checked "show unaccounted/over counted stats" and the miscellaneous battery stat is there :/

So after some time researching the bug, it was fixed on November 5th, but there isn't a link to the commit that was pushed for it, personally my kindle lasts a lot longer than KitKat even with misc showing in battery stats. Also here's a good explanation of this whole misc thing going on,

Rigghhhhht thank you, at least that clears it up, glad it wasn't a bug
But still, the device does not go into "deep sleep" a lot of the time so overnight the battery doesn't charge as fast, or even all the way by morning :/

Have you checked your wakelocks? Could be an app thats keeping it from sleeping, Both mine charge about the same time pretty fast, I also use a premium wire and a 5v 2.1a charger plug so it does the job lol

1. Haven't tested HDMI yet for lollipop, maybe someone can elaborate more on this for us?
2. USB otg is still a no go ?
3. You can use it while on a charger but it has to be a good charger, you'll still get ghost touches if it isn't. Plugging it in a laptop 3.0 port seems to work fine for me while using it.
4. The bugs are Netflix, Google play movies(can't stream these) and YouTube will not play if you let the kindle fall asleep while watching a video from there(needs a reboot)
Hope this helps you ?

Dirty Unicorns is a custom ROM built with stability in mind and optional customization. The idea to start this ROM began out of pure boredom around 4.1.2 on the EVO 3D and later turned into a form of an addiction (a good one) to see where we could go from there. We have since expanded to more devices to include the HTC One, Nexus 5, SGS4 and many more. We quickly realize that users loved what we were doing as well as other developers because it was done the right way. We've always had fun doing it and take pride in knowing that we've done it without having to bug the end user for donations to pay for server costs and/or any of those sob stories you hear. This ROM is 100 percent free and will remain that way.
Those wanting to use our ROM as a base are more the welcomed to do so but please maintained the credits/thanks below, do not ask for donations as it wouldn't be fair to do so considering and let us know as we often like to contribute to other projects.
As stated above, we love to maintain authorship but we also like to publicly praise those that have helped us along the way with our wonderful project. With that said, this wouldn't be possible without the work and help of those listed below THANK YOU ALL!!
| OmniROM | AOKP | CM | ChaOS | Paranoid Android | Slim ROMs | Preludedrew | Team Black Out | Official Testers / Translators |
Please check our gerrit/github for full credits/thanks of individual contributorsBelieve it or not, we are human and we do forget things. If we have left someone out of the credit/thanks list, just PM us and we'll gladly add on to the list.

Working really good..lots of features! I'm still getting the random force close while using the voice text option though.. it will just immediately reboot when I hit the microphone. But not every time just kind of sporadic so far. I've been noticing this on every 4.4.4 ROM I have tried lately. is there any kind of fix for this or is this just affecting me? Lol. I love kit kat, just need voice texting stable as I use it frequently. Will give it a bit and see if it settles down.

I'm still rocking C-Rom 7.1...I may start playing around today and flash some new things to see what has changed...
If so, I'll do some voice testing on the phone and see if I can get random reboots. My phone already randomly reboots on multi-touch.....
Is this cm based or aokp? Looking forward to running this. Thanks

Well..still fc on pressing mic button to voice text. Also..same wonky GPS action..seems to "lock" but after you watch it it starts to loose lock and act sporadic. I use waze every day and know when its acting right. This must be a 4.4.4 problem because I'm noticing it on all Roms I try lately.
This is cool to hear. Is this based on the previous S3 ROM? If so, I don't see my issue listed in the fixes, and I don't know if anyone brought them up. Basically, it didn't handle going from WiFi to mobile network easily, and WiFi would shut itself off, only way to get it to come on and stay on was a reboot. Gmail would also keep turning off sync, but I think they may have been related.
Anyway, just curious. Thanks!
Does gamma control work with this ROM? I'm using it with BMS kernel, which supports gamma control, but I can't find anywhere where I can adjust the colors. I also tried the setcolor script, but that showed some kind of error.

Hi yusopa,
You're more than welcome. I liked it too... so asked to be able to port it to Tilapia. And thanks to the wonderful people at CandyROM, I was able to do so.
So enjoy it
Regards.
So many features man. And smooth too. So I stay with this ROM as long as you port it man.
Hi Guys,
I have tried searching a lot in different XDA forums but haven't been able to find a definitive answer - is it possible to make GSM phone calls from nexus 7 3G on newer ROMS such as this one? Can someone please clarify this?
Thanks.

Hi smartymanav,
From what I've read here and there, some people have tried and I think some succeeded. But success was granted after difficult operations... and apparently with random results.
I reckon you've read the whole thread dedicated to this on this forum... I stopped monitoring it some time ago, so can't tell for sure if the project succeeded.
May I ask why you want to do that ? Is it because you want a single device bigger than a phablet to make your calls ? Or is to have mutiple SIM to make calls ?
Regards

Never experienced that one on my Tilapia...
Did you perform a clean install ? Or did you just dirty flash the ROM ?

Hi,
Can you describe a little more what's happening ?
Does it occur on boot or is it in the middle of something ?
Does it occur whilst just playing with the ROM or while you're working on a specific app ?
First thing to do is to enable "Root" and then reboot.
Please do so... and tell me if that error reappears.
I think I have played about 3 weeks with my Tilapia... and have had no FC or else at all
Regards.
i didn't nothing special. it's enough swipe down notification bar and the problem is present.
Sorry for my simple english
Did a clean flash two days ago. All is working good. No problems so far.
Untill now it´s very smooth, much better than other N7 3g ROMs.

I don´t know what "multi core controller" is.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first created based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean because of curiosity. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device (EVO 3D). Since then many others have joined the project and it has grown a whole lot. We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours and many of our contributors have gone to help other projects and that is ultimately why we do what we do.
Once Jelly Bean was over, we decided in Kitkat to move to a new base which was OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting because it challenged us to see what we could with something different.
With Lollipop, we have moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. That said it has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward.
Few more things we will say is that we don't accept nor ask for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc.....
We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask is that you search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

These are blind builds for me. I have the T-Mobile variant. Try asking in our g+ community in the actual ROM post. I've had a good bit of dl's so I'm sure someone can answer your question.
Gave it a whirl and it worked with TWRP. Loki'd it just in case, man I am loving this ROM. Great job!
I'm pumped to see this rom here. Does it have the functionality to turn off the softkey lights?

Unfortunately no, but u can turn off the battery light and create custom notification lights. Running really smooth for me right now with a nice dark cm12 theme.

If using the AT&T variant, loki will always be required when flashing any kernel (whether it is a separate flash or already included in tkernel/rom zip) other than the stock tw kernel (for those that can loki). Higher firmwares who require safestrap to load custom roms cannot use this, as the rom must be compatible with the stock tw kernel.
That said, thanks for this rom! I put t-mo guts in my i337 to bypass all that bootloader crap. I loved du since my i727 Skyrocket days
I really like all the customization options, but I can't get the time to stay accurate. The ROM keeps resetting the clock's time 4 hours behind my time zone! Does anyone have any ideas about this?

I'm on Canadian i337m as well but the camera doesn't seem to want to work very well. I'm finding this with all of the lollipop ROMs. When trying to use the camera it will focus but not take picture all the time. If I exit out of camera app and reopen it will then take a picture without me doing anything. It then may work a couple times after but will do the same again.

Haven't had that happen to me as yet running this rom. Will keep an eye out for that though.
Anyone else getting contact FCs only when trying to view certain contacts? It seems to be related to theming, but I can't seem to narrow it down.
Sorry for cluttering the thread, will ask questions in the q&a thread.
found my old galaxy s4 i337m (canadian version) the other day that i never rooted/custom rom'd ever.... so once i figured out how to do that stuff on this phone, i loaded up the latest kitkat DU rom and have been loving the customizations, options and features included. Cant wait for this to make some more progress with lollipop and be the killer rom that the kitkat one is
Cheers

No. You are stuck with safestrap. Only those with MDB and MDL bases can flash TWRP and you cannot downgrade.

For hardware recents key to work you have to go into DU Tweaks and enable custom button remapping. You don't have to change anything. Just enable it and that button will work correctly.

Ok fine I'll just do it later lol.
Anyways, happy to see DU here. Had it on my s2 for AGES. Absolutely loved it then and I'm sure it's even better now!
I was just told that setting selinux to permissive will allow v4a to work

DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

Get TWRP (Official is recommended)
First hotboot it from fastboot and Flash the ROM, Magisk, or any other mods (again, don't report bugs if you can't reproduce them with just ROM and GApps)
Reboot into the system, and enjoy the DerpFest!

Rom is rock stable. Everything I need works: Gpay, hotspot, DTS audio, SafetyNet. It is the first A11 custom rom I'm trying where deep sleep kicks effectively in. Customisation options are acceptable. Only issue I've found so far is hardware buttons being always swapped by every reboot, nothing new but hopefully nothing impossible to fix. Lots of appreciation to the developer for a very good job!
this rom is flawless and very smooth. Only micriG not instaling.

GApps Already Included.
You can expect Vanilla Build soon.
Oh thank God hotspot working. I was afraid to try because the latest Android 10 Roms since Sept have a Hotspot bug that's like a Virus, its so hard to get away from, I literally was hoping from rom to rom for the past 2 weeks. I'm gonna install this A 11 rom tonight
Does Volte on Airtel network works?
I cannot find the hardware keys customization. Where are they located? If it's the navigation tuner, that keeps crashing for me.
EDIT: NVM, it's Under OnePlus settings.
I just gotta say, I haven't updated my OP3 in maybe more than 2 years. I'm coming from Android 9. This is the third ROM I've tried tonight, because others had issues or just things that annoyed me. This ROM feels great in my extremely limited experience so far, and is noticeably smoother than Android 9. Thanks for the ROM!
In DerpQuest/Miscellaneous, the menu is empty. Don't know if it's a bug or just the ROM at an early stage.
If clock is centered in status bar, there remains an ugly empy space on the left for the other icons.

Few question before flashing it.
1. Does rom support encryption?
2. Has inbuilt app lock?
3. Battery life with moderate use?

is wireless adb working?
edit: sorry bugged out and posted twice. not sure how to delete message.
After more than a week using this rom, I can tell the issues I've found:
- hardware keys are constantly swapped at every reboot - annoying, but one can deal with it
- there's a loss of mobile data signal which happens randomly, I have to reboot to get mobile data again. This is most likely not caused by the phone company since at the same time in the same room and with the same contract with the same company, on different roms, my daughter gets LTE+ signal and I have no signal and have to reboot once and sometimes twice - very annoying and one cannot deal with it in the long time
- other than that, everything works fine, which is very impressive for an alpha rom.
