Tasker help - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello XDA community,
I don't know why my Tasker profile won't run. I am using the when wifi connected turn off keyguard profile. I am also using secure settings to turn off pattern lock. I am rooted. I have been meticulously *following several videos on youtube. The same instruction works on my brother's phone. *
As well as this profile. when near scanned cell towers turn on wifi. Exit task, turn off wifi when not near. It doesn't work.
Also, the profiles don't light up green. In the notifications, it says no profiles active.* Any guidance on this matter will be great.

Try enabling the new cell api within tasker

Hello i have enabled the new cell api but it still requires the password. It still requires me to enter my pattern lock password.

[Q] disable pattern/pin/password lock from activation

hi, a friend of mine had a request to prevent the demo android phones placed at his shop from being locked by customers. how can i prevent the pattern/pin/password security locks from being activated, or how do i remove this feature from the demo phones?
thanks
Turn it off in settings???¿¿¿???
If you're talking about after it has been locked, reflash the software if it doesn't have a fastboot/bootloader/recovery reset.

If they're connected to wifi then install "unlock with wifi " on them and hide the app?

he's been doing reflash every time a phone has been locked, and its getting on his nerves as this happens almost on a daily basis. is there a way to rip the security pattern/pin/password functionality from the android framework? or is there any apk that we can remove from /system/app that will disable this functionality?

i think wifi is out of the question as he doesn't want passerbys to use his wifi connection for hacking/illegal purposes.
You can just lock down the WiFi with WPA2 and it will most likely not get broken into.

Download one of the many app locks and just password protect settings and then turn the pattern lock off..
//edit- Inside of the app lock see if you can only password protect display settings.. so customers can at least play with the other settings

Unlock with wifi is an app that uses trigger(a known wifi location) to unlock the screen...
It's not a tethering app.
So, what is this in reference to?
I'd expect that he might have a wireless router in a cell phone store already. And would know to encrypt it.

Profile manager

I am looking for a profile manager that will set my phone to behave a certain way in different states. I would like for my mobile data/wifi to cut off when the screen is off. I have searched for one, but haven't found one to do what I want it to do. I want to squeeze every minute of battery out of this thing. If it matter I am on flapjaxx kernal, sky jelly 10.3. I use system tuner, etc.
Thanks!

Settings Profile works great for me. I tried Locale,, Llama, Tasker, but SP work the best for me.

Kinda new to Android but I recently installed Tasker to do what you are asking for. Not exactly a novice app but I was able to get it to do what I wanted it to do fairly easily. I've set up two profiles in it to turn off WiFi, Bluetooth, and volume when I'm at work and turn them back on when I'm at home based on local cell phone towers rather than GPS because I couldn't get a good lock inside my office. Has way more capability than I'll probably ever know but I'm still learning.

Can you turn on or off wifi based on location?
Do you mean if you are at work or home? then no, you can't sorry. but sounds like a good idea. how exactly were you thinking it?
sir,does it support s dual sim phone's
nice app though

Hummm, I've never consider dual SIM. How do you activate mobile data in your phone? Do you have independent config for each. A screenshot would be useful. WiFi should work normally though

App which auto enable/disable mobile data

Is there such app please?
What do you mean? Do you want the app to disable data when connected to WiFi? If so, your solution is MacroDroid by ArloSoft. You can set a trigger (i.e. Connecting to WiFi, Disconnecting from WiFi) to activate a response (i.e Turning off data, Turning on data) so you can set many different things, not just what you said.
Find it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arlosoft.macrodroid

I'm searching also for this, meaning an App where you can manage your data and wifi connection, for example on/off when screen on/off. And for an unrooted device (Custom) ROM.
It maybe only works on rooted phones see https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gyagapen.cleverconnectivity ?
EDIT: I tried MacroDroid and Mobile Data Off/On Action gives the message:
requires rooted device or ADB hack to grant permission android.permission.WRITE:SECURE_SETTINGS
The ADB hack seems by using a Google ADB tool from develeoper android area.
I do not like both of those two options, so manual toggle seems to remain the thing.

Toggling data with Tasker on honor 8

Hi Tasker friends,
I need some help with my honor 8. I do not want to root it, but I do want to be able to toggle mobile data using Tasker. I was trying to do so using autoinputt, but it only works, if I go to quick setting by myself. Then the profile triggers. Tasker is configured the way that, if I lose my WiFi connection, it should trigger autoinputt to go to quick settings and the click on mobile data. However as stated above it doesn't work.
That's why I'd like to make a task, which triggers a NFC profile using the honor app magic tag. My profiles in that app are capable of toggling mobile data. So the Tasker task should somehow trigger the nfc profile!
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Does this help?
Hi and thanks. This works like a charm!
However now I am trying to make a task which toggles data only if it's off. I cannot find any way for Tasker to check if data is on or off!?
Is there any way to do so?
