Hi
I have a Moto G XT1033 with Lollipop 5.0.1, and I wanna to use reverse tethering, but I can't... I tried using Android Reverse Tethering 3.2, it connect with no errors but doesn't use my pc's connection.
Can anybody help me? My mobile connection is very very slow (~ 4 KB/s) and I don't have WiFi :'(
Thanks

Check if this project works. AFAIK it doesn't need root, maybe its Lollipop-compatible.

Have you found out a way to reverse tether on moto g running lollipop yet? I used android reverse tether app on CM11 but have exhausted all methods for CM12... Also I didnt think xposed framework was compatible with lollipop yet, maybe its just my arm processor.

Hi! In case you are still looking for a solution:
I have written an app that brings Reverse Tethering to unrooted devices. I've opened a dedicated thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-reversetethering-noroot-t3316716
Hope this still helps :fingers-crossed:

Are there any Jelly Bean roms out there for the i815 with a working tethering solution - either wifi or bluetooth? I actually bought this thing for the sole purpose of tethering to it, but man the stock rom was so awful I finally broke down and put jellybean on, but now I've lost the ability to tether. Currently on the latest jellybean 4.2.2 rom available and have tried a bunch of stuff without luck.
Any idea appreciated.

I have this device and I also have another carrier version tablet (Galaxy Note 8.0). I used the instructions here for the GN 8.0 and with the stock Wifi Tether apk and got tethering with root. Not sure if it work for this device, but it's worth a try. Also, you can setup a widget to start tether so it's pretty easy to work.

This is frankly a very irritating issue. I bought the Moto G XT1033 dual sim edition from some random store online, and then updated it to 4.4.4 from 4.4.2. In both the versions, AdBlock, AdBlock Plus, or even manual editing of the hosts file does not work. I am running a rooted stock rom, so I don't think this is a rom bug. AdBlock works on my Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 which runs 4.3, so I am leaning towards the fact that it is a device or manufacturer specific issue. I am prepared to flash a new rom, if required , as I have already prepared a nandroid backup. What should I do ???
just to eliminate that your problem is related to AdBlock you also could try AdAway: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190753
Since you tried modifying the host files yourself I wouldn't be too optimistic but I'd give it a try
I just tried AdAway, it says that the ads are being blocked, but no ad ever gets blocked. I have also tried to disable ads using Google Play Services, and that doesn't work too. So I think that the issue is independent of the application used. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

I also tried to use AdBlock but the results were as usual, is there any other alternative? I'm on non-rooted moto g.
@Roger29 AdAway does not work on non rooted phones, whereas AdBlock is supposed to work on non rooted phones over Wi-Fi only, but the non-root method almost always does not work. You are better off using a proxy server or a VPN service such as Psiphon which will reduce the number of ads running on your phone. It is available on the Play Store completely free of charge. Or, as a last resort, switch on airplane mode while playing games/offline apps to disable in-app ads. Hope that helps !!! Can someone also help root users ?

You're rooted so, try AFWall+

Since you are rooted, how about a firewall such as AFWall+? It is a bit of a blunt weapon but at least it will stop apps connecting to download ads...

Made account just to bump this question... have been searching the web for weeks now. From xda to the chinese version of the one plus site to looking through the reppository myself. No answer, not one.
Same here. I even tried flashing the earliest version of android (CM11) I could find because I remembered reading it was not compatible with later versions of android. I think it's compatible up to jellybean and the N5 was released with KitKat
Did fqrouter2 ever work on Nexus 5, even older versions of Android?
Bump
Bump! Have the same problem.

I have been pouring through fourms for about a week, trying to figure out if it is possible to root my tablet and install Cyanogenmod on it. So far I have not had very good luck with any of the methods that I have found. There is a stable snapshot, along with nightly's for this tablet, so there has to be a way that it can be done. Any help would be appreciated.
Tablet specs:
LG-V410 running on AT&T
currently on Android 5.0.2 lollipop
I am happy to provide anything else that might be needed.

I've tried it using Purple Drake, I fails out at the beginning and just reboots the tablet. I have tried several methods that have also said that my device isn't compatible somehow. I'm wondering if it might be because it just recently updated to android 5.0.2 Lollipop. I liked the tablet until it updated, and now it runs slow as crap, and won't update apps properly.
