Hi guys, my dad's galaxy ace 3, s7275R isn't doing anything.
After a complete battery removal, charging, holding the power, various button combinations, there is absolutely nothing going on.
Nothing on screen, no sound.
Just wondering if anybody has seen this before, and whether there is a solution of if its the end of the road for this phone.
Thanks for any advice you can offer in this case.
Strange...
Can you enter Download mode or recovery? Did you formatted /system?
If your "doing nothing" means absolute no power then it should be a hardware problem.
Try a new battery. If not again, charge it directly. If that didn't help, get a new phone and play dumb.
Or in the worst case scenerio, used a JTAG cable...

I've BRICKED my device
All of a sudden, when the device was connected to the charger and was in standby, I tried to power it up....and it wouldnt turn on. I pulled the charger cable out....the LED was still glowing. I pulled the battery and put it back in.....and that was it. Completely dead....no response
Plugging in the power, switching batteries (fully charged), pressing all buttons, hard reset/emergency mode key combos, punching the reset hole a million times, pulling the batteries in/out with the charger in/out....all sorts of crap tried. Even the power LED doesn't glow when the charger is connected. NO sign of life from the PDA in ANY form. Completely dead = paper weight. Also tried holding the power button for over a minute or two...nothing happens. Also tried using Mirage and pluggin it in....doesn't detect anything.
Now I need some help guys -
1. My i780 is just 2 weeks old. Will my warranty be void if Samsung finds some other rom? If so, how do they process this? Can they fix and I pay for support?
2. If the device doesn't power up, they anyway cant figure what rom's in there...so i should technically qualify for a replacement....am i right?
3. Anyone here have bricked and dealt with samsung service? your experience?
4. Any other ideas on what i could do to unbrick?
Thanks....sucks guys
Shame to hear that
Have you tried to ask in off topic in thread regardnig samsung?
Good luck,
Hey orb!
I guess mine's a total brick here....looks more like a hardware failure. I plug the charger in, the LED doesn't glow....nothing happens no matter what i do. Its just a dead chunk of plastic at the moment. Guess its going back to the service center.
You'll be happy about this though.......i'm back on my trusty universal once again! It still is simply the best device out there! Only gripe is that it runs on just 64megs ram.
Cheers
is that able to flash rom or enter emergency mode ?
i guess may be rom problem ,
i780 propably will like this if you are using the oldest rom ~

Samsung i780 Bricked
my device is not deacting USB in emergency mode it freeze and not powering up ...plz help me
sorry for bad english
Hi!
Today I got from my friend a bricked Desire S.
He said, he tried updating a pile of apps at once and it froze. He left it to cope with that and when he was back it was turned off.
When turned on it would stuck on htc logo. He read somewhere that he has to perform a "factory reset". I'm not sure what exactly has he done later (he did this with holding the volume up and power buttons and than there had to be, as he said, an option to reset the device), but the result is, that the device doesn't respond at all.
Nothing happens when connected to USB or charger.
Is there anything I can do about it?
Maybe force push bootloader with adb?
Please, help guys
Hi,
it doesn't do anything at all?
Power button?
Power button + Volume down?
Recharge battery?
Connect to a PC with properly installed htc drivers?
Remove battery and put it back?
Unfortunately yes.
Tried different combinations several times - once or twice the led blinked for like a half a second, but than nothing.
I have some flashing experience and I learn quickly. If You have ANY ideas, I'll try to make them happen.
I will try everything, as I have nothing to loose
Regards.

Whenever we see “And I was updating apps and it froze up.....” we have a suspicion we perhaps have another case of the eMMC chip packing in. At least he didn’t do a battery pull. Holding UP + DOWN + POWER has a similar effect to hitting reset on a PC. You can’t get to recovery this way.
With the phone off, hold just the DOWN + POWER. Does the phone then boot into HBOOT? (white screen with coloured text and little green androids at the bottom). If it does, great. You can choose RECOVERY from this and do a factory reset. If the phone does a series of (seven?) quick vibrations maybe not so good.
Search for “eMMC” in this forum to get plenty of people who had this problem, and how (some of them) have been able to fix it. Knowing what to search for is half the battle!
For example check this thread out...

Geek out!
Thanks for the reply,
I actually have tried entering the hboot few times - with no success.
It doesn't respond at all.
I've read about this chip, but I want to make sure there is no option to force the phone to enter recovery. Than I would probably know what to do next.
Regards.

Not sounding good I'm afraid. The last resort would be to contact HTC and try to get it repaired on warranty. They are very very aware of the problem, and once you tell them "I was updating all apps at once and it froze" they'll accept it as a known hardware failure. Like you say, you have nothing to loose in trying.
A friend recently had this, and sent if off to HTC for repair. As the description of the fault was a known hardware failure, they never bothered to test it first, so they didn't notice it had been rooted! It just went straight through to get a main board replacement. It took five weeks for them to return it though. Best fish out that battered Nokia in your drawer and charge it up ready!
Good luck!
Uh, these are quite bad news, but I'm pretty sure they will accept it on warranty, since my friend haven't done anything "illegal" with it
Thank You for Your fast replies
Regards.
Like to start off saying hello, great to be here great amounts of information.
I Have me a Huawei U8800-51 (Impulse 4G).
I Just got the one used. Rooted it, and got around to working on it to get Gingerbread on it. It all worked out great.
It worked fine for 3 Days suddenly i decide to reboot it. it shut off but never came back on. Battery was fully charged.
Removing battery for an hour solved nothing. Attempting to go into debug (Vol + & - with power held down) or CW (Vol + With Power held down) resulted in nothing. The phone always when off would turn on display battery charging when connected to power. no this dose not happen.
I still think the phone is drawing power from the battery in this state because the phone would get a little worm like normal.
I talked to someone that ran into a similar issue with a different phone he once had. He Spoke that he had to download a program which was posted about on XDA, which allowed him to power on the phone by forcing the ports open when plugged into USB.
Thing is, he cant remember the name. So I hope for a little help with this. right now im stone broke so i cant afford to buy any mod cables. like JIGs or anything. If a certain cable is needed whats with the cable that makes it different? (If i have too ill rip bits from other old electronics to find a match and attach it to a old spare cable.
I think the problem with the one is related to the changes i made and something must of been buggy.
Even know i got the phone cheap and used. i hate to just ended up with a $120 Paperweight.
Worked all like new when i got it, nothing wrong with it, not even a mark on it.
Feel free to give me a answer even if you have to have Linux to do it. i got both Windows and Linux on my system.
Thanks in advance.
Hello everybody. You're my last hope!
Here's my situation: I bought a second hand Note a year back, and it's suddenly done a hard brick on me. So hard my computer can't even see it when I use the USB data cable.
I'd rooted it with CWM, flashed a custom JB ROM, and had been using Link2SD to shift some non-essential apps to a secondary partition and free up some system space. Although all the above came with their hiccups, I'd been using the phone without a hitch for about a week when "it" happened.
Today I pick it up and it has the "Galaxy Note N7000" welcome screen, which disappears when I hold down the power button. After that, nothing. Nothing from the power button, nothing from the power button+menu button+volume up. Nothing when I replace the battery with my fully charged spare. Nothing when I plug it in to charge, nothing when I connect it to the PC. No warning, nothing. Out of the blue, just like that.
After a bit of online rummaging I think I need a JTAG fix, something like "Samsung Galaxy Note - JTAG Brick Repair Service (Debricking/Unbrick/Brick FIX)" by MobileTechVideos on Youtube (I'd paste a link, but this site). Problem is, I'm all the way out here in Turkey. What would you suggest?
Thank you in advance.
PS: I'm struck by how all this makes you appreciate the simpler things in life. Like your father-in-law's little old beat-up Nokia that never skipped a beat all these years and is now saving your life. Is it really so hard to make a phone that is guaranteed to boot no matter what?
i have a nexus s 4 g from sprint. it is hard bricked. i tried to root it and change recovery.then it shut off and wont power on, light up at all. I would like to know if i am able to achieve download mode, what do i need to do, what files and how to install to return this phone to stock?? please help!!!
Take out the battery for a few seconds and put it back; then while holding Volume UP (+) press the Power Button.
See what happens...

Nothing. Happens it don't light up or power on at all. It is not reconized on computer either. It's hard bricked.
Make sure the Battery is charging...
How can I make sure the battery is charging when no lights come on at all? All I do know is I had it plugged in for a while yesterday and it got really warm. But no lights whatsoever. The screen doesn't light up at all neither does the led.
??????
There are no notification lights on the D720, but when you plug it in with a charger, you should see a battery bar on the display.
Other than that, you are probably right about hard-brick.
I, luckily, never had a "brick" on the Nexus S, so someone else with experience may wanna chime in. But Google and YouTube are your friends.
Sorry...

Please help me, i have the same problem
been awhile since any action here. saved mine with JIG method once but this time it won't work ??!(why) , in search of a solution again! -> hardbrick #2 on this device!
You guys can try a USB Jig. If that does not help, I think JTAG is what you need.
Jesus... just to revive this thread (and this concept of hard bricking), I think I just accidentally bricked mine as well.
Here's exactly what I did:
One moment, it was working spectacularly - fully stock, but unlocked. I had just listed it on eBay, too.
So I ran a factory reset on it (from the Settings menu), also "erase USB storage".
Then, after it shut down for the reboot, I pulled the battery.
...
That was it. Now it doesn't turn on for anything whatsoever. No device detected on USB when plugged into PC. Remove, replace battery, hold VolUp+Power, nothing. Plug into power adapter, nothing. Nothing at all.
But the back does get lukewarm after a minute or so, as if it's alive in the head but frozen, unable to start the bootloader.
WTF? I also have 2 more of these Nexus S 4G's, and both of them seem to have Flash storage chips that exhibit the same behavior when their chips are placed in (this) working motherboard. They can't boot. When I try to "hot-flash" it by booting the bootloader then swapping the Flash chips, they can't flash anything (this is probably to be expected). So, if I can get my ONCE-WORKING phone back to life, there's a good chance I can get another working as well (one just has a cracked glass, otherwise working mainboard & peripherals).
It's old, yes, but it's a damn shame to E-waste these things for a stupid software problem like this!
