So one of my Christmas Gifts this year was the desktop dock, I get it home and plug in my Tab 2 7" to find I can't get audio out thru the lineout on the dock when running one of the versions of Dhollmen ROM, for some reason the dock audio setting was greyed out, so I switched back to Romswell V1.1 ICS because I had the zip for it on the tablet and it was based off the stock ROM. On Romswell the audio out thru the dock is working perfectly, so my question is for anyone out there that has a p311x tablet and the desktop dock that has tried other ROMs, which ROM's work with audio out thru the dock? This would save me a lot of bandwidth and time flashing different ROMs to try to find a more updated ROM that still has functioning audio out thru dock. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have the same problem. After all I've red I think it's a bug deep inside AOSP/CM code (which eventually all the cooks end up using more or less...). If so, it won't get fixed any more (it's lollipop time).
Still, I'd be glad to hear there's a KitKat for our Tabie with working dock audio!

I tested a few, I think your right only stock based ROMs have working dock audio. there is the 4.2.2 Sungsonic HD V.7 ROM appears to be the newest version of android with working dock audio.

First Thanks for all / any help i can get ok so hears the deal
I have my B70 set up as a dash pc in a way. the only rom i can get the gps to even pick up 1 sat is prime 2.1.0 with gps.config mod with out 2.1.1 update all others fail to even see 1 satellite.
I have tried every ics based rom out. even unrooted stock nothing works. I have tried both faster fix and the gps.confg mods
The main reason i got this was to use it with my obd2 reader and track mileage and fuel as well as nav and yes it`s tied to my hot spot and has internet but without gps working it`s very slow and gets lost when the cars moving. The other thing is use it with netlflix over hdmi but hdmi only works on my tv with ics and it don't work at all with 3.2.1 based roms.
My b70 is sbkv1 i had luck on my side.
All testing on 100% clean installs. i don't do backups or install other stuff
the question is what you think i can do to fix this. i might just sell it if the one big thing i planed on using it for it can`t do. Unless i take it back to much older roms.
Roms tested that worked some but very little
Prime 2.1.0 and 2.1.1
Roms that don`t work at all
RevHD 3.1.0
RevHD 2.x.x (3.2.1 based)
C9 3/18/12
EOS 1.5
STOCK ROOTED .11 and .17
Stock unrooted 3.2.1 right out of the box lol
It about 3 months old i got it on my way to CES .
If i sell it is anyone here looking for one with dock and a car mount for cheap pm me
So i hooked my tab to my tv for the first time last night, and cant for the life of me figure out how to get audio to the tv. My phone and my xoom automatically puts audio through the hdmi ro the tv. Is there a setting some where i missed or something?
Im running Jellybro CM10 Kang build.

It is a known bug for all the AB roms that HDMI audio won't work

Thanks for the info, that sucks... thats a pretty important flaw. No audio via HDMI pretty much makes it worthless in my opinion.
The CM10 rom just got updated to Round 11 and I think HDMI audio should work now. Try by yourself
I had the same problem the first time I tried it. I'm running US stock .30 fwiw. I unplugged, replugged and got sound.
Greetings!
I just bought a TF101 (apparently I got the 32 gig instead of 16, and it included a dock and a 16 gig micro SD ),
and I would like to put a rom on it. I am wondering which one is the fastest though.
I have always liked AOKP and their unicorns, but how does that pan out with this tablet?
Is the dock and everything functional with milestone 6?
i have AOKP's JellyBean ROM on my TF101, and it is noticeably faster than stock ASUS ICS.
i haven't tried to connect my keyboard dock to it yet, but from the known bugs, it only effects the "special keys" on the keyboard. which i'm assuming is the volume control, lock/unlock, home, search, etc keys. to me, that's not a big deal (which is why i haven't tried the dock yet). you actually have to touch/use the tablet and breakaway from the keyboard.
before this ROM, i had Megatron ICS on it, and this also was faster than stock. you could also flash Cyanogenmod's stable version 9.
Cyanogenmod is fully compatible with dock?
How about the Revolution rom?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1245892
the only ROM i tested with the dock is Megatron's ICS.
i have tried Revolution and Cyanogenmod, but ultimately stayed with Megatron (in terms of ICS).
there's no harm in trying them all. see what you like and don't like about each ROM. also see what each ROM is capable with for the dock. in my personal opinion, i only used the dock to type. i hate the trackpad, it just seems unnatural to see a cursor and click things on a tablet.
I think I might use CM9, both AOKP and CM9 works well with the keyboard
I have another question though; What is good kernel that allows 1.5GHz or so?
Also, my left speakers has started to act up - it's not as loud as the right one, how do I fix?
sorry, can't help ya in there. i'm not keen on flashing kernals just yet.
and don't know much about the sound hardware.
If you can find it, Team Gummy AOKP 1.2.6 Linaro build (ICS) along with the appropriate 22.6 guevor kernel was a very stable and fast ICS ROM. If you need it, I can put it on Dropbox.
I am gonna run AOKP milestone 6 with guevor v1.1 kernel, I just need to fix the sound somehow

I have been having trouble finding a kernel that supports MHL, and a decent ROM in which to run said kernel. I really like SKY and Embryo for their call recording functionality, but I also require the MHL HDMI support. I have heard that CM 10 runs MHL well, however my problem remains that I need a good ROM that supports the kernel without a brick/ineffiiciency. I am currently on GB 2.6.35 on a custom NEXUSMOD ROM and it simply doesn't cut it. If I can just flash my kernel that would be ok too.
Try them for yourself find what works if your too lazy for that then this isn't the site for you

Any cm10 Rom
Lightning kernel
but waffle is right, research bro
Yea, so far Im running Sky ICS, an older version because I like the call recording features; and the MHL is supported. CM10 is pretty awesome however I really do fancy the built in call recording! Thanks for the reply

CM10. Works really well. Other than than, just try them all out. Grab one a day until you find one you like.
Good luck.
mhl question
I'm not sure if this fits but i had a problem with mhl using CM10 (stable; kernel:kernel that came with it)
When i plug the adapter in the screen auto rotates to landscape, I'm ok with that, but the problem is any app (ex: temple run) that only has portrait mode isn't displayed. All I see is a black screen on my TV. I saw on youtube people with stock roms display portrait stuff so I was wondering if it was possible on CM. Anyone have similar problem? Help plz?
Has anyone had any luck tracking down a decent ROM (much preferably one as close to vanilla android as possible) that actually still has working MHL? I've done a good bit of searching through most of the individual ROM threads and it seems like this is something that is hardly ever mentioned. I realize that it's missing in CM, much to my sadness as that has been my best experience with a custom ROM thus far. need something that works with my appradio 2!
I'm on $droyd$'s jellybean nonsense build 6 right now and it's not bad, but still too HTC-y for my tastes (plus i'm on hboot 1.14.0004 right now so no wifi for me )

Dark jelly s edition supports OTG im using bubba kernel along with this... Will check the MHL availability and will post back...
Cheers
This interests me too. In my test of different ROMs I found that trick droid and viper work but make the phone freeze after the mhl cord is removed. Black bean, avatar, jellybam and codename lungo don't work with mhl. None of the awesome cm based ones are supposed to work with hdmi
I keep going back to nonsense which has since been closed. I only have version 4 and version 6 seems to be unavailable for download. Now after almost 5 months as my daily driver I started having Bluetooth issues and I have to load music via USB from the recovery since that must have been removed from it.

I got the same results
