After the recent update I cannot use fingerprint unlock because of "security policy", I have to use pin or pattern instead. Any ideas ?? Thanks

Has anyone factory reset
This is a feature that has been added thats similar to ios. It only happens after a reboot. Then you can use fingerprints
Ok, just figured out one thing. When using an app to screen off, it asks for the password, but if I use the lateral button, it uses the fingerprint. So, the problem is with the app to screen off...

I can confirm this. Just installed Samsung's latest update for S7 and after that, if an app is used to lock the screen (e.g. Screen Off and Lock) the phone always requires pattern (or PIN or password) to unlock. Fingerprint recognition can be used only if the phone was locked by power button or time out. This is not a one-time event. It happens every time and won't go away until you stop using a screen locking app.

Yes this also happens to me. I have installed lots of different lock screen apps, all same problem.
Yes, I finally found the culprit... Nova Launcher "double tap gesture" to lock the screen requires Device Administration permission. If you toggle it on then the fingerprint unlock becomes unavailable. Thanks for all feedback !!
Yepp, I just got the update a few mins ago and this was the first thing I noticed. I'm a bit annoyed and I've found no fix.
I use Nova Launcher gesture for screen lock.
Same,.,
This is the reply i got... Check the attachments.. I guess we have to deal with it..?
Agg listening in on this, because I got the problem to. Bought Screen Lock Pro that worked on Nexus 6P, but settings crashed when trying to active the device administration part.
Damn! should have read this before updating.

Hi bro, based on the screenshot I can understand you are from UAE(or somehere near). Are you having the G930FD model?

Tried to uninstall and install in a desperate hope that would help and it does. Now I have an icon to lock the screen and fingerprints work. Only minor issue us that there is a 10 sec delay, but the screen turns off right away, so it doesn't seem like an issue.

When you lock the screen. Seems that's the way the developer got it working on Marshmallow.

10 sec delay to lock the screen after pressing the icon!? That's crazy.

Screen Lock Pro. There is a setting you need to activate for it to work in Marshmallow.
:fingers-crossed: Great, now I can see "Fast Charging" on the Lock Screen?? Really?? I pretty much know by now when device is "fast" charging!! Hopefully the update did more then that!! (Worse, I do not use the Lock Screen.)
Supposedly there are security updates also? I really don't see much difference but I installed the update because I want LG and Verizon to be happy! <G>
I got the update last week. It broke the wallpapers. Only live wallpapers work now. Regular pictures just show up Ashland screen. Also when I click on some text boxes the curser will blink in the box but the keyboard does not show up. Always seems to happen at the worst time.
---------- Post added at 10:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:40 PM ----------
Post above should read "show up as a black screen". Not Ashland screen. I cannot edit from the new version of app. Says edit failed.
VS98715A just pulled down to mine. Wonder if it addresses the wallpaper issues?
I'm noticing some little things that are different in Oreo that make a BIG difference. Here are a few things I've discovered already that I'm looking for solutions to...
1) The button on all wired headsets that WAS the mute button now hangs up the phone....what the hell?
2) Hitting the "do not disturb" button in the quick buttons area at the top just throws it into do-not-disturb. Prior to Oreo, it brought you to a screen asking how long you want it to stay that way (hours, or turn off with alarm, etc..). That screen is no longer available so you can't have the device come OUT of DND when your alarm goes off in the morning.
3) Hitting the battery button in the quick buttons area at the top now turns on battery saver.....it used to take you to the battery usage page. WTF?
2 is really a shame.
Solution to #1: Apparently if you LONG PRESS the button on your headphones it will mute and not hang up.

Solution to 3, just hold the battery saver icon.

For DND, hold the toggle and it brings up a settings panel, there you can set automatic rules for time and stuff.

Solution to #2. If you swipe down on the notification shade again (to see the whole notification area) you can see a little down arrow under the DND icon. Select that after turning DND on and you can see the option for how long to leave it on again. Yes, too many button pushes but at least the functionality is still there.

Hell yeah! Why is it buried in there!?! That's an extra 2 input touches/swipes to get to it now. Very odd. Thanks for finding it!

Yes, but not the option to set it for 8 hours, for instance. Just to use the automatic rules. Have to select the down arrow to get that.

Hi there!
I think every version i've tried, they had this stupid bug. Stable V10 too.
So im stuck on V9 cuz i need notifications to be working.
(also tried mokee, but no decent camera )
Notifications working fine in global stable miui 10 here... Maybe disable energy saving mode for wa and telegram and enable pop up notifications for them

Do you have separately settings for each group/channel/contact and it doesnt reset after a few mins?
My example; a channel wich I set "vibrate, sound, show in lock screen"... After a while when I go back to miui notifications settings, it was reset to "vibrate" (so dont sounds and doesnt show in lock screen)

I had the same issue, I switched to telegram x and that solved the problem. Telegram x is better anyways
Didnt worked for me, but I dont remember if tried Stable+TelegramX
Edit: I miss a little feature in Tx. To be able to choose any sound as notification sound.

It's not true. There's a bug blocking notification sound for apps, especially WhatsApp & Telegram

I had the same with Threema. Since few weeks it works again, but I had to change notification settings manually for the app (in system- notifications)

I was wondering, if its possible to disable double buzz vibration every 10 or so minutes it is crazy annoying, and doesnt serve any purpose, samsung health is disabled.
(sorry for a mistake in the post name)
Why does it do that? Mine not doing
What is the notification that your getting when it buzzes?

thats the fun part, there is no notification at all, it just vibrates every now and then while connected to the phone, im so confused, what do you need to help me with this?
Is it disconnecting and reconnecting maybe? Mine double buzzes when it is out our range of my phone.

so i noticed it buzzes when i recieve notification, and for no reason at all, like even if my phone right next to me on the table and it mostly is, it keeps on buzzing, that is freaking annoying, even my wife complains.
There is a setting to only receive notifications whilst wearing only.
---------- Post added at 03:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:54 AM ----------
Try putting it in flight mode, see if that eliminates any connection issue that could be causing the notification buzz?
---------- Post added at 03:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:58 AM ----------
Have you tried turning off long vibration in the settings? I saw it under the battery menu.
---------- Post added at 04:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:59 AM ----------
Make sure the Samsung accessory service doesn't have battery optimizations turned on in the settings on your phone. It can cause bluetooth issues and might be disconnecting and reconnecting.
Hope all this helps.

Unfortunately there is no battery optimisation in my phone since i have a flyme 7 system,
long vibration is off,
flight mode turns off all the notifications at all.
I guess you are right, it must do the bluetooth on/off just to piss me off, i searched the net for this issue on the flyme system but futile
i guess it has got something to do with the bluetooth on the watch itself, since even in standalone it does the buzz, unless you disable bluetooth
