HI!
I'm managing a medical warehouse and as always in the end of the year i need to do a stock count.
I need an app that can help me do this:
Search a bar code (scan it will be great) into excel file to find this specific item and mark it. very simple.
But i don't know if there is an app that is dedicated for that or an app that can help me a little bit.
I got apps for the excel file but none of them is simple enough to just search and mark (no bar code scanner to support it ether.)
Is there anyone how thinks he can help me a bit?
Thank you!

Hi XDA,
I'm writing my first Android app, an open source webtext client for Irish mobile networks. The current version of the project can be found here: https://code.google.com/p/webtextr
There's one thing I'm having trouble with though. I'd like to implement a ‘recipient’ text box, where the user can start typing the name of a contact, and after each letter is pressed, it searches their contacts database and provides a drop-down list of suggestions. Then the user could click on a name and it would insert their number into the text box. This would be just like the way it works in the stock SMS app when you go to compose a new message.
Does anyone know how to implement this? I've been looking through the source code of the stock SMS app here https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_packages_apps_Mms/tree/froyo/src/com/android/mms/ui. But... it's *very* complicated and not especially well commented.
Any help would be massively appreciated. Once this is added, the app will be fully functional and perfectly usable.
Bump? Anyone?
I've figured that I should use an AutoCompleteTextView. But any examples I've found online have been broken in some way, and seem to use the deprecated People class.
Is this really as hard as it seems? I'm suprised Android doesn't provide an easy way of doing this...
I am looking for a very specific app to assist me with interviews. What I need is an app that can open a Word or Excel style template page. The page will have a list of questions and the space to fill in answers just like any normal paper application form.
Name:.........................................................................
Address :.....................................................................
..................................................................................
..................................................................................
Tel:................................................
Etc.
Now this bit is easy I have seen many app's that can do this, the next is the difficult bit,. I need the app to allow me to use a stylus to handwrite the answers in the fields. It does not need to recognise what I have written just save the page as I have annotated it with the handwritten answers. I can then open the template again and conduct the next interview.
Is there such an app out there? If not would anyone be interested in creating one? If this is a new idea then whoever wants it can use it. Thanks all.
Sounds like a good idea that can easily be accomplished using the Google App Inventor.
If I have a few spare cycles I'll see if I can throw it together.
Nice idea, would be a handy little app for many i'm sure.
Would be nice for it to have a "done and save" button so it auto went to the next form, and have an edit mode to edit the forms themselves (making it applicable for any survey, data collect use).
I'll have a look at the app maker today and see if a noob like me could knock something up (allthough its probably best left to those with experience).
Definately a good idea though ^^
EDIT: Oeer, think i may need to readup on the Appmaker for a week before i start ...Spose have to start somewhere. Consider me outof the dev picture for a mo ...allthough need any art/buttons i can help anytime xD
Good morning,
Apologies in advance - newbie here with some great ideas that I'd like to put to use in an app but a bit clueless whereto begin. I'm looking at creating an app that will let users create events at pre-defined locations (i.e nightclubs which will contain a bio/info) which will be displayed in a list as well as on a map (ideally google maps which everyone is familiar with). Users should also be able to RSVP to the event.
Any idea what kind of framework/tools i will require for this project?
Any help is appreciated
Kind regards,
Erik

Hi all,
Just wondering if someone can help me with developing an app for the Gear S3. It is probably the most simple app ever for you pro's but i am an absolute newbie to coding. I've managed to code it in html but want to have this running on my Gear S3.
Basically this is the app.... A list of "subcategories" and when you click on this subcategory it opens up another list of "items" and when you click on each of the items it loads an image off my website with some text below the image which would be a description of the image. If someone could maybe help me out and list say 2 "subcategories" and 2 "items" and point out where to insert the web address and change the text that would be greatly appreciated. I can then further develop it from there.
This app will not be sold so i wont be using your services to make money. It will just be used locally.
Thanks so much in advanced for your help.
Hi guys
So there is this specific thing I need to accomplish. I searched and searched and couldn't find an app for it. Maybe I'm not phrasing it well in my searches? If someone can help guide me in the right direction that would be appreciated...
I need an app to help generate paragraphs from a form. For example I want to app to start with a form with the following drop down lists:
"Male" and "Female"
"Tall" and "Short"
Age ranging from "1" to "100"
Then after filling out the drop down boxes the app can generate a paragraph from a pre-set text eventually saying "A male who is 35 years old who is short" based on my selection.
Thanks in advance and have a great day!
Alternatives that I can think of:
Do this with Excel/Google Sheets
Create HTML page and open it in browser
Create flow with Automate
