Hi all, it's been a LONG time since I was on Android and a part of this forum !
OK, so where are the home screen bookmarks saved ? How to edit them and change the icons and / or names ?
(I am speaking of a rooted device with full file system access. I do not want to use 3rd party or Play Store apps...)
***EDIT: Using the stock HTC Sense launcher, not NOVA or any other launcher...
***EDIT: ( In addition to just web apps, this could include any shortcut link or app on home screen / desktop ... )
I have searched for HOURS and can't figure out where the link(s) is /are saved.
With iOS there was a folder called WEBCLIPS and you could edit them there. (The Webclips / web apps / bookmark links)
Also in iOS you could edit under Applications for the apps. You can modify the names and icons as such.
There has to be an XML or file or something on Android that can be edited, right ?
I found searching that the saved web link can contain a <link = whatever.png> from the ORIGINAL web site,
(From here: https://www.mollerus.net/tom/blog/2010/06/web_app_homescreen_icons_in_android.html )
But I can not figure out where they are saved afterwards to go back and edit.
EDIT: I have tried a few apps from the Play store just to see what they do, and if THEY can do it, it has to be possible manually. (Som e don't work correctly, or at all, but ShortCut to URL works except you can only choose from installed icons.
Anyone know or have any hints ?

Hi everyone,
I cannot seem to find a way to create custom links (instead of the 8 HTC shortcuts) when I slide open my TP..
I use a different email app, calendar app and task app then the stock unit, and have it default as the main app - but it still links back to the original ones..
Any suggestions??

I have a question according to the Simi-Folder app, which is great by the way.
Is it possible to create a shortcut to a file which I use every day?
Or is it possible to create a shortcut to a directory and place it on the homescreen? I then could create a file collection in a special folder and place it in my homescreen or even on my dockbar...

I use File jump , it created a short cut to a swf file (on the home screen), when I click on it it lunches the swf player (from market too). I use it on Samasung 10.1 tab, but the short cut is smaller than the rest, was wondering if possible to change the size. I have decompiled it and using the notepad ++ still not sure how to fix the size.
I like the catagory mode where i have 3d stuff at top , seperate phone apps and then stuff ive downloaded
question how to i put my downloaded apps into a - z organisation ?? they are in the order i downloaded but i would prefer them in a-z ....
ive searched on google and forum but cant find solution anyone any idea please ??

Open app drawer hit the menu key should be able to change it from categories to pages to alphabetical on the default lg home, i dont have it installed anymore but i think it is first option when menu pops up

i am from canada, new to android system , and learning about build / rebuild for personal learning and usage ,
i already have freeware verson downloaded to my android tv box ..name stb emu(free) by maxim V.
i want to move some of sub menu to apk startup screen , instead of going inside the settings all the time
how can i pull that submenu to home screen of apk ?
as well i want to permanent blend some profile inside apk by default and settings passward locked by default
can any expert help me to relocate the menu ,and what xml file i suppose to mod ,
so i can get one of setting parameter at boot screen from settings/sub menu
this is freeware verson so i choose like other apk..this one has many sub menu one inside other so seems good practice too.

Hello , first of all i dont know english very well so i have problem writing it well lets start with our little project.
And i see some people here ask to change the icons on launcher so here we go.
Well hmm i love telegram but you know what i dont like the color of his icon it has to much on it so but i want more red one and the name i dont like i would preffer better like on my way so its easy its a android application called APK Editor and he has the free and the pro version in this case we need pro but and free version can do the work , with this application you can rebuild entire app and with rpo version you can have the smali files.

Steps :
I made a video because its complicated to write here but i will write and put the video link here.
1) Open app and select the program you wouls like to edit, after you select the program you have 3,4 choice to select what kind of edit you want in this case we want full edit i mean rebuild one so we select the first choice that the program offer to us.
2) After selecting the app you are now on the content of that app so we can go direct to our job ans lets other stuff without touching them so we go under the files tab and select the res folder and find our icons but icons are located at subfolders named drawable so in there we look for our icons we want to change on our case is a icon on launcher and notification so on Telegram app thoose icons are named book_icon.png and ic_launcher.png so there are to much drawable folder because have to many phone different rezolution and diferent api so we must have diferent icona to fit any phone so we have to made some our icons with out dimensions i upload mines here for RED telegram.
3) After finishing go and tab Build on the right corner and uala remove your installed application and install yours (anyway the program will ask you its self).
