Audio Bug Free cm12 - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I was wondering if there was a cm12 rom that currently doesn't have the audio static bug? I have tried a lot of cm12 and aosp roms and I love them all, but I currently can't make them my daily driver because of the buzzing and audio static sound when I play music. Thanks

I've used LS and K900 L for some weeks now and no audio issues of static for me.

The good news is that in the latest builds it got much better.
The bad news is, however, we'll have to wait (nobody knows how long) for cm team to sqash this bug completely.

So 100% free of that bug? or Most of the issue is gone?

our 3 opos do not have static issues. one on 38, one on 44s and one on k900 L. if i restore any of them to lower versions, still ok. sound is = to our 2 samsung s4's and g3

Temasek unofficial latest build. No issues whatsoever.

Not sure if the above people use bluetooth with their phones, but no, the music bug is still present - raise it up to 70% and it will max out to 140% with distorted audio quality and deafening audio levels.
I dropped back down to KK mainly due to features, but this has been a deal breaker for me.

Just tested LS and the problem is still there. Does anyone know what the problem is exactly?

AK at one point specified that it could be due to the CPU dropping to a single core. He said that in KK at least two cores were always online but with L, it went down to one core. A few people tested changing the CPU to at least two cores and the issue went away

Indeed, I don't have any static either through phone speakers or headphones. Can't try Bluetooth.
Running temasek unofficial cm12 v3.3 with AK kernel 068 now, give it a shot
Op, are you using Bluetooth headphones or wired?

This is not a hardware difference but a software issue. There's no possibility that some devices have problems with bluetooth playback beyond 70% and some do not.

I dont think one core is the problem. With my i9000 music was playing good without any problems at 100 MHz single core device.

Not for every device, just specifically for the OnePlus One.

So if I use ak kernel, what settings should I use to prevent this issue on cm12 ROM?

Exactly, but when there are roms that are bug free aren't there any workarounds yet? Ak kernel 70 on pa.alpha1 couldn't help.

Seems like a ROM problem over a kernel problem....and this could have several factors, possible drivers that worked on KK cannot run on Lollipop - not due to runtime differences but rather an overall difference in the OS.

I have the same problem with Temasek's 2.5.1 with stock kernel. Its very annoying and it comes on with screen off or screen on.

[Q] Xloud or similar for CM 10.1 based rom ?

I'm looking for a solution to increase notification, headphones and overall system output volume on CM 10.1 based rom. I was happily using Volume+ but it no longer seems to work with JB 4.2.2. :crying:
Has anyone had any chance with xloud or similar ?
BTW I'm currently running last version of Baked with 3.0 kernel. Thanks
You could try Viper4android, I think that's system wide.

thanks man. Viper4Android does boost overall volumes ?
Yeah it has different settings for external speaker, headphones etc. It's been a while since I used it though.

I've noticed though that no volume increasing mods work for the 3.4 kernel but might just be me. You could always try it and see what happens. You will know it doesnt work if the volume cuts lower after a song but comes back on the next song lol. I tried viper4android and xloud and dspmanager.

[Request] Volume Hack

I'm not sure how hard this is but I've noticed that the speaker volume isn't very loud. If anybody knows how to get a volume hack or needs some help, I'd be willing to offer my time. Thanks in advance for your response.

Same here. I would be very happy if some kernel will resolve this problem. Otherwise, phone is super. Just speaker when talking ... and maybe not so good buttons. :good:

Definetly a NO to this on.
Using a active speaker at work which resets its volume to a base volume everytime you enable it.
The speaker is on par with a Galaxy Note 1 which I have just retired.
I´d even say its louder....but possibly that is because of faux kernel....try this...
You can install this kernel...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=250965
Then install FauxSound from the PlayStore, you can up the speaker gain a decent amount. It's nothing drastic, but I've got it loud enough for me now.

+1. Came here to say this. FauxSound works excellent. If you don't want to / can't afford to pay for the app, trickster mod works fine.
But if you can, support your local dev!

edit: can't speak for stable kernel, but their is nothing in the changelog for the beta about fauxsound, so I can only assume the stable includes it.

Fauxsound needs an update. Faux123 should have it out shortly. It works fine except for the fact that settings are reverted to stock upon reboot. Little annoying but faux is great at keeping his kernels and a ops up to date and fully functional.

No, it can be provided as a tunable kernelfeature or using some app. I'm not informed about how setting parameters manually by editing files. Whats wrong with using a EQ-app??

Application will be made more narrow ram, I do not like it .. but I always take lib files in EQ-app, consequently increasing the quality of audio output .. because lib it will be driven by kernel
Sure, but "free ram = wasted ram"

[Q] Alternatives to V4A that are Franco-friendly?

So it appears that Viper4Android isn't playing nice with Franco's kernel...at least for me and, by observation, at least a few others.
I love V4A and can't stand the vanilla audio without it...but I love the battery life Franco gives me. Dilemma...
Does anyone out there use another free audio tweaker that plays nice with Franco's kernel?
Just use linaro version of the kernel in the other development forum and u won't have an issue as it has faux sound

I don't understand, I am using V4A with Franco.kernel r46 and having no issues so far. earlier today I had some audio clipping/studdering, but the problem went away. what is exactly your problem?

Every now and then, I'll hear a hiccup (sounds like a digital fart, if that makes sense). Quite annoying.
What setup are you using with V4A? What audio quality?

[Q] Poweramp Audio glitches. Working rom/kernel?

I am having some audio glitches with Poweramp. It only seems to happen with this particular player (and since this is the player I purchased years ago I would like to use it).
Currently I am on Purity rom with Purified kernel. Every now and then my audio will 'blip', can't really explain it as it happens randomly. I have tried all of the internal tweaks and nothing.
Does anyone have a working Rom and Kernel combination that works flawlessly with poweramp they they are aware of?
Thank you!
Did you try to use the wakelock feature in Poweramp so that it stays in memory whenever it's being used?
I'm also using poweramp since ages now and everything works perfectly. BTW, I'm on AICP with ElementalX...
