Hi
I wonder if anyone here can help me out, I just damage the original rom of my Spice Mi700 build 5012_3_16P (Indonesian Version) I cant make a phone call, browse internet, etc. Now I need the original ROM of it to flash it back to my device. I couldn't go to the store to get it fix cause i'm too far away from the store (needs 2 flights to get there).
So if anyone here got the device and can dump the clean ROM for me or if anyone had the original ROM would you please share it to me??
BIG THANKS,
ps: mods, if this is the wrong place to ask please move it to the right place, tq.
Did u tried to flash a custom ROM or damaged it while using?
Before flashing try factory reset ur device.Follow the steps below.
---->IF U CAN BOOT INTO RECOVERY VIA KEY THEN SKIP THE 1) N 2) 3) STEP.
IF NOT THEN FOLLOW ALL THE 4 STEPS.
1)Turn on ur pc n search for quick boot app on the internet.
2)Install it run it.
3)Select the recovery boot.(This will boot ur device with inbuilt recovery mode present in ur device.)
4)Then select the wipe date or factory reset something like that.
Wait until it is finished. Then reboot ur device n check weather the prob is solved or not.
Here's the quick boot app:
I am not allowed to post link but here's the path for it:
Google for quickboot.apk u will see the mediafire link download it.
Thanks for the reply,
I have done repairing the device, I search all over the net finnally I have solution flash back using custom ROM.
Here's what happen that make my OS broken, at the time my phone was temporary rooted, then I do a Factory Reset (while it still rooted). After the reset there's when a lot of my device features can't be use. I can't make a phone call, lost my browser, can't install apps, my builtin file browser was not installed. So I'm almost can not do anything. I even tried to install the apps using ADB and still failed. So in my confusion status i search here the any possibilities to fix it, what i found is a custom ROM but its for 5012_3_16I (mine is 16P). I'm afraid it will not work for my device. But anyway what's the worst it can be, so i do this way :
1. Install clokwordrecovery.img
2. Reboot to the recovery (using adb commands)
3. Backup the last state of my device
4. Then install the custom ROM from this XDA (i cannot post a link too, just search it with a thread title "[REQ] Developers Interest NEEDED: Samsung Tab Alternative - Spice Mi700 DroidPad")
5. Aaannnndddd it works, my phone got all the function back.
6. Oooo, I also overclock the Proc to 864mhz (using a solution from the neighbours forum)
7. I found out about yaffs2expert in the market.
8. Using yaffs tool I extract the system img from my backup files earlier
9. I remove the folder system and boot.img in the custom ROM that i got before and change it with my extracted folder from the extracted img and the backup boot.img too (the original backup boot.img was not extracted).
10. I compressed it using zip
11. Using recovery mod install the ROM that i have just build before.
12. And again it now back to its original (like new from the store) state of the device.
13. The proc is still OC to 864mhz.
Do what I have just done is a bad idea (customizing a moded ROM with my original ROM)????
Ok now I have a new problem, everytime I turn the wifi on the device is restarted, is there any solution??
Thanks,
Hey can anyone help me root my android 2.3.4? I have a att fusion that I'm trying to root and I don't know if there is a way to. Just thought I'd come here and get a straight answer.
Sent from my XDA App
me too
hope someone has a way. I've been trying for three days to root this phone and nothing works so far. Not sure if [email protected] has done anything or not to prevent rooting.
Step 1. http://androidforums.com/huawei-son...nmod-7-2-zad-rom-v-1-5huawei-u8650-sonic.html
Download and unzip the "Drivers Huawei (adb drivers)" to your desktop and install the drivers. Also download and unzip the "Custom CM Recovery" to your desktop as you will need it later.
Step 2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582
Create a folder named DooMLoRD-v4 on your desktop and Download DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su.zip and unzip it to that folder.
Put your phone into USB debugging mode and run the "runme" batch file in the DooMLoRD-v4 folder on your desktop. When done your phone should be rooted.
Step 3. Open the Custom CM Recovery folder and run the "Instalador" batch file
you now should have a rooted AT&T Fusion with ClockworkMod Recovery installed on it.
Step 4. http://androidforums.com/huawei-son...nmod-7-2-zad-rom-v-1-5huawei-u8650-sonic.html
Scroll down and you will find two custom roms that you can download and install on your phone with CM Recovery. Before you install open up the "system" folder and open the build.prop file in notepad once opened go to edit and in the drop down you should see a replace option. Replace "u8650" with "u8652" so that in your info your phone will have the right model number and save it.
Thanks!

Got all the files still cannot ROOT this damn thing, Tried Using Z4root wont work, Tried Using SuperOneClick, it Hangs on the #7 Process waiting for the Phone then I tried Using DoomLord V4 and it gets pretty far but shows that the Internal program memory is non-rewritable so im starting to guess "NO ROOT" is this possible?
Try and download the newest version of superuser and make a root file on the sd card. After that superuser is downloaded, put the file into the root file and wait for it to transfer, then when thats finished power off the phone and put it into recovery mode and apply update from SD card and choose zip file. Choose the superuser update and let it go through the process. Once its finished reboot device and you have root. Now all you have to do is flash a custom recovery on it and load a rom.
Let me know how it works!

oh nvm fixed it! after fiddeling with my phone, I finally fixed it... TY ANYWAY
Has anyone tried this root process with the fusion 2? If it doesn't work is there another way to root the fusion 2? Thanks.
had same problem...this will fix it
First thing that you want to do is root your phone. I have done this twice with this method and it has worked great both times.
1) ROOTING YOUR FUSION:
This is the method that worked for me. It was already stated in another thread on this forum:
QUOTE from : charliedrums....
"Here is what I did: (this tutorial was done by sd_james over at xda developers)
1. You need to install the latest Android SDK (search google for latest version)
2. download SuperOneClick v2.3.3
3. Follow the instructions and make sure that you have set your Settings > Development > USB Debugging box checked. I also set Unknown sources checkbox on.
4. Type in the following code on the phone keypad
*#*# 2846579 #*#*
This will open up the Service Mode
Go to Project Menu > Background Settings > Log Settings
Turn on Log Switch and set Log Level Settings to Verbose
go back one screen
Go to Dump and Log and place a check in all log settings.
Reboot the phone
After reboot use superoneclick2.3.3
In superoneclick on the general tab click the root button and wait for it.
This is what worked for me.""
2) After your root, you want to install the Clockwork mod for this phone. (To do the back up for your rom and also install this will enable you to install custom Roms for this phone.)

This method doesn't work on my old Consumer Cellular AT&T Huawei U8652, just hangs at Step #7 "Waiting for device"
I recently had a problem on my LG vortex. I had rooted and deleted some bloatware, then because I was upgrading phones, I thought I might sell my vortex for cash. So I did a factory reset. Much to my dismay I shortly found out that I had accidentally deleted the home screen from the phones factory memory leaving me in a boot loop. even a hard reset using default recovery wasn't working. After a day or so of research I found a couple of guides:
LG vortex downgrade guide - many thanks to Salem, as much of my guide is copied from his
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883314
after a bit of tweaking I was able to recover the phone by following these steps:
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for *any* loss or damage (including bricking) to your device -- use this guide at your own risk!
[Setting up your computer]
if you previously downgraded your LG vortex from 2.2.1 to 2.2 chances are good this part is already done
1. download files from following links:
factory flashing software & firmware
optional free un-rar software
2. plug in your phone (even in it's crippled state) it should autorun, and install some USB drivers
3. extract LGNPST.rar and run the LGNPST_General_v1.2_Lab_Version.msi this will setup to the directory C:\LG Electronics
4. copy/move LGNPST.exe to C:\LG Electronics
5. extract the LGNPST_Components rar file, this will make a directory with two MSI files in it - run these.
6. Go to C:/LG Electronics/LGNPST/ and create a folder called “Model”. Inside that folder, create another folder called “LGVS660″.
7. Extract LGVS660.rar. Inside this, you’ll find a VRZ folder. There are three files inside this: a .tot file, a .scr file, and a .dll file. Move these all into C:/LG Electronics/LGNPST/Model/LGVS660/ (the folder you just made.
8. If you’re on Windows XP, hit start, click on “Run”, and run this:
regsvr32 "C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Model\LGVS660\VS660.dll"
If you’re on Windows Vistas or 7, hit start, type cmd.exe, right click on cmd.exe when it comes up in the search area, and run it as an administrator. Type in the following and hit enter:
regsvr32 "C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Model\LGVS660\VS660.dll"
[setup complete] your computer should now be ready to fix your phone
Contrary to popular opinion on the many forums I perused researching this, I found that this software does *NOT* require your phone to be in debugging mode! it will see your phone if you simply plug it in at this point
[Flashing the phone]
1. go to C:\LG Electronics
2. run lgnpst.exe
3. if you haven't already boot phone and connect USB if the phone was already connected disconnect and reconnect it to make sure the software recognizes it.
Warning! do not disconnect your phone from the cable under ANY circumstances until the software tells you it's safe to do so!
4. try to directly flash phone back to factory. This will require you to select the .tot file from above under where the program is expecting a .bin file (you'll have to manually type in a filter in your file selection box) also select the .scr file in that same directory.
5. if that doesn't work go to the Data menu
6. select 'data recovery'
7. let that work it's magic and it should transfer to 'emergency mode'
8. select the .tot file and then the DLL for your phone
9. flash -- if everything works out your phone will reboot around 60% with everything on it
10. once the phone has booted completely go to menu and set phone to USB debug to stop the 'flashing' process this will allow you to safely disconnect your phone
ENJOY!!!
[emergency flashing]
*WARNING! the following methods are untested! above methods worked for my phone!*
Once again, do not disconnect the phone under ANY circumstances until the software tells you it's okay to do so!!
1. boot the phone in emergency mode by holding volume *up* and the back button at the same time (as I gather from the above mentioned xda post)
2. once in emergency mode it should be safe to continue from step 8. above.
[end guide]
Many thanks to those out there who helped me build this guide!! I hope it helps!! Now you should have the freedom to try removing all that bloat ware again. Hopefully, with a bit more discretion this time
In case anyone is wondering -- yes, I'm a n00b, and yes, this guide is for n00bs just like me
Advice?
Can this method be used to return a rooted/hacked/modified phone to FULL factory stock so you can return it for a warranty claim? IE- will it remove clockworkmod, superuser, and any other traces that you messed with the phone? Also, is this for verizon?
I had a lg vortex I had to return recently due to a blown speaker making my calls sound like a kazoo.
I DID root it (using gingerbreak)
I DID run some sketchy root programs like setcpu, wifikiller, root explorer, wifitether, and a few others
I originally ran ROM manager to backup my rom when I first rooted, but it said it installed clockworkmod (selected LG optimus V from the list and it worked) in order to run properly.
I have slowly uninstalled all of the software, used rom manager to restore my first backup, then uninstalled rom manager, installed gingerbreak, unrooted, uninstalled gingerbreak, uninstalled everything, then did factory reset from settings menu.
As of today the phone looks stock. No superuser. No sketchy programs, I'm just not sure if CWM or something else could have survived the factory wipe from the settings menu. I know superuser survives a factory wipe, so I'm not sure if I still have dirty files lying around. If verizon knows I rooted my phone it will cost me $309
Is that good enough? I don't want to return a device that has evidence files on it, but I have no clue if clockworkmod got uninstalled with rom manager or not. I never changed roms, I never knew how to boot into cwm, I don't know if it's still there or not. Advice?
EDIT: You should note that my phone is NOT bricked- the speaker is blown, so there should be no limit to the menus, functions, or software tweaks available which would be needed to fix my situation. Also it should be noted that I am not the type of person who condones returning a bricked phone to get another one- That hurts us all. Unbrick yourself using a thread like this or eat your mistakes.
hi, I recently rooted my phone with gingerbreak and uninstalled some bloatware from verizon. Then I couldn't see the home screen, although I can pulled down the status bar. After following your steps above and at running lgnpst.exe. I got the error message saying: Fail to load the Skin.dll. Do you have any idea? Thanks
been looking for you for three solid weeks!
dude, i've literally tried every posted forum in xda, androidforum, soul, phandroid, etc, downloaded every possible software, updates, utilities, recoveries, firms, and yada, yada, yada, and for the past three weeks i have past this one flippin' thread, over (no lie) 20 or so times. and please believe that your solution/explanation for this problem was really my last @#$#@## time i was going to EVER, and i mean EVER, download, install, re-install, re-name, re-write, place, copy/paste, throw-up, stroke, stomp-feet, and dosie-doe anything technology-based/wired-wireless eqipment in this young mans life again!!! so i thank you:victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory: and to ALL those not mentioned here (my apologies, but are still and forever will be in my prayers) for this and every single solution/explanations, that has ever been posted for dumb-a#$es like me. and for donating im trying to do that but recently messed up by using google's new/terrible wallet proccess. yes i know i should have used "PAY-PAL" but had already had money link to that GOD-aweful--theivery account. and for all those out there like me/us i will be posting my own thread/solution to this very same problem using my own words in a more in-depth description including all-props to you and for them not mentioned here (my apologies, but are still and forever will be in my prayers). thanks to you all and fyi im stopping here, oh no, i too, will become a master of all this hacking stuff, or i will become a master of destroying them all and then will have new problems for ya'll real hackers to nibble on.!!!
OK, after messing around for a bit, i was able to get root, and custom recovery working, and its actually pretty simple...
1. - Update to 5.1.1 via ota,
2. - Download Philz (CWM touch) Recovery and Beta SuperSU 2.64 (System-Less Root) (Pretty sure its in post #3).
3. - Copy the SuperSu .zip file to your sdcard on the Galaxy tab.
4. - Make sure you have the proper samsung drivers for download mode, and place you tablet in download mode by holding Vol-/Home/Power then pressing vol+ to continue.
5. - Connect you PC to the tablet using a suitable micro usb cable and use odin (I use version 3.10.7) and make sure you see you device under ID:COM.
6. - Click the AP button (PDA button in older versions), and browse to where you have the Philz recovery .tar file, and also select the options tab and deselect the auto reboot option.
7. - Click Start, and once you see pass, you can unplug your device from the computer, but do not just reboot the tablet normally just yet.
8. - Reboot the device to recovery by holding Vol+/Home/Power, and if all went well, you should be in philz recovery.
9. - Do a full system backup (warning you will need at least 4GB of storage available).
10. - Once backup completes, install zip from sdcard, and navigate to where you put the SuperSU 2.64 zip file, and flash it.
11. - Reboot Tablet, and from you PC extract the originally downloaded SuperSU 2.64 file on you PC, and navigate to the common directory on the extracted folder, and copy the superuser.apk file to your tablet.
12. - Make sure that you have Unknown Sources checked in the Device administration section of security settings so that you can install superuser.apk.
13. - Install superuser.apk and PROFIT!!!
If you have any questions, I'll try and fill in, i know that some of this write up is written with the expectation that you have knowledge of what you are doing, as i didn't explain in detail some actions necessary, but if you are rooting, and flashing recoveries, i assume you know what you are doing somewhat... With that being said i take no responsibility for any damage you may cause your device attempting this process, and i will not be replacing anyones device if you brick you tablet, your tablet catches on fire, or if your tablet turns into the devil and steals your soul. You are on your own...
But realistically this process was pretty easy, and i figured it all out just today, so i'm pretty sure you can do the same.
This is only a temporary solution for root, until a full kernel can be released, and we can fully root system, but for apps like titanium, es file explorer, and such (I haven't' tried debloating, you are on your own with that), this works... Once a custom kernel is developed (looks like @moonbutt74 is working that angle btw... ) you will definitely be able to debloat, and flash whatever you might want granted it is for this device...
EDIT** I forgot to mention this will trigger the KNOX counter, so if you don't care then continue as you would, pretty sure if you are looking to root, you don't care about the KNOX counter, and if you do, then maybe you should be looking into somehow writing a stock kernel that can be customized without triggering KNOX, slightly more advanced then what we are doing here... **
EDIT** Please give credit to the guy who "found it first" and should have done the write up but didn't**

Yes that is my phone in post 3, as i was the first outside of the team to have a rooted LG optimus G, thanks to TeamCodefire, shellnut2, JCase, AutoPrime, thecubed, and many more that contributed to the lg root evolution. If you have any questions about my integrity, you can ask any of them...
I cleaned the offensive posts and the user was infracted. At the OP, thanks for managing this appropriately and not escalating it to a flame war.
Back on topic please.
These steps are NOT needed... Once you complete step 10 and reboot SuperSU is installed and accessible...
This is only a temporary solution for root... Why?
And, the Kingroot and Super Sume method works sometimes to get root without tripping KNOX! This info I also posted in another thread...
This recovery/root method will work for mostly ALL Samsung and Nexus devices that have a working recovery... Thanks to Chainfire for his hard work!

Temporary solution is in the meaning of not fully rooted... This method is systemless, and if you want to make full init.d edits, i would not recommend using a systemless root option, as its kinda like a sudo root, for those that use linux, they will understand what i'm talking about. Yes you can allow root access to apps the request it, but as for full system modifications like the sound mixer, and init.d edits, i don't think i would go there, also not really sure if this will work with debloating, I'm not exactly sure about on samsung how it acts when you remove "system" apps (more so apps installed by default by samsung), I do know that one of the quickest ways to brick a lg is to remove system apps, and if you don't have an unlocked bootloader, as well as custom kernel, during boot, you get a kernel panic if system apps are removed, and in some cases has rendered the device unusable, (nothing an insurance claim couldn't fix tho... lol). Oh, and for the final steps, i actually did have to do them, I had no superuser app in my apps drawer, I attempted downloading from the playstore, and it was the wrong version SuperSU, and kept telling me i needed to update my binary. Then did steps 11-13, and all was nice in the world again, and no more nag about updating binaries, as well as it is the correct apk for the su binary that is flashed in step 10.

Here's the magic: mega(dot)nz/#F!ZkARSbRI!SV3kQ6jmsi9eGwHoRKPfew
(sry first post.. they have rules against posting web links directly.. replace (dot) with . and you should have your recovery file)
had to do a bit of digging myself. The other files should be easy to find via Google.

Just Read the posts before yours, the link is right there.
There's a reason posts are added and not just replaced with new ones. This is only a 2 paged thread, not hard at all to read it all.

Updated, but like bodyshop said... look up. No offense tho...
Thanks for this, however I can't get wifi to turn on. I saw mention in another thread about deleting wpa_supplicant.conf and using ODIN to upgrade to PF1 (could only find PH4 but it fails), but neither worked. Does anyone know of a fix?
