Dear All,
I have recently rooted a sidekick 4g (t-mobile) using SuperOneClick and today, I have a OTA update, which I've postponded until tomorrow...
After further research I found away to rename a file from .zip to .bak to stop further updates, but I'm still getting the notification..
So more research I saw other options for other phone about changing the build.prop file, but all the research doesn't match the info I've got on my SD card... (as I copied the file from the system folder to SD, the plugged the SD into my pc)
Can anybody help, what parts of the build.prop info would be needed for advice on changing it to other figures? I could provide it all, but I didn't want to copy and paste a big text file here.
Thanks in advance for the help and support.
Regards
If you
Code:
pm disable com.wssyncmldm
as root, you'll stop receiving notifications about firmware updates. This might or might not break TMO contacts backup, or maybe that was due to the com.wssnps package I disabled at the same time.
I know nothing about build.prop or what the update agent might actually be using to sense the version.
just go into system/apps and delete wssyncmldm.apk
Thank you both for the replies, I will do that later on tonight.
I uninstalled AT&T Address Book (through Titanium Backup) and expected to be able to restore it in the event of catastrophic failure...was wrong. I then attempted to replace contacts.apk with one without AT&T Address Book and that broke EVERYTHING...did factory reset...even worse. I managed to get Contacts.apk back to normal but I still have the "AAB Initializing error when ever I click on my address book...
Anyone know how I can restore my ...
ALRIGHTY...all I need now is the name of the ATT_AddressBook.apk, and I should be back in business...

Hello everyone! proud Galaxy SL owner here! Hi, I was wondering after deleting this folder titled "ppy_cross" folder it returns on my /mnt/sdcard? I would delete it again, but it comes back? I can't find to which app it belongs to.. My Galaxy is not rooted.. does the android OS return deleted folders so it can function properly? Just now, I turned on my wifi to install a game from the play store, after installation, I then opened up my My Files and saw ppy_cross folder again...? My phone has no problems at all, it's working normally.
Thankz in AdvaNcE to whomever can help out! =)
3rd party apps create files automatically, the ext file systems also create automatically folders like LOST.DIR

I appreciate your response sir, thank you so much!
So this is pretty much normal sir? So, if ever I come upon another folder that I deleted and comes back... It's ok and won't harm my phone, right? But, what if I installed an app and uninstalled it, and I also deleted it's folder, but comes back after I already uninstalled the app, what does that mean? Just curious sir..

its alryt to delete folders as long as you are aware of what's inside of the folder..but be aware not to delete systems folder for it may cause a problem on ur phone..abd for the application installed and uninstalled well i think it alryt to delete it as long as ur no using the apps and free some space.
I believe that folder is from boat browser mini app.
I have the same folder and I havent installed that browser
I have the exact same folder as well. Inside, I find a file labeled as follows:
7c8818e0b54505648c31ec132d64a3a7
It's simply labeled: File.
I have never installed anything called "boat browser" or anything similar. The only browser that I use is FireFox, and I know it wasn't created form there, as I've used that browser for a while, and the folder only just appeared within the past couple of days. I, like the others, am unable to prevent the folder from returning upon deletion.

Storage Defragmenter....and why the hell is there no 'Angry Face' Icon?? Sorry, I thought that was 'constipated'.
I have a rooted S3 running stock 4.1.2. I recently installed the Note 2 Camera on my device but did not back anything up (stupid I know). Well, now the camera works (barely) but is very glichy. I get areas of photos grayed out camera stops from time to time and i get error messages. Anyway, I did the switch to get the slow motion, which isn't very good anyway, so I'd like to just restore my camera back to it's original state.
What files do I need and where can I get them? Where do I install them once I have them? Any help would be appreciated.
Basically, to insall the Note 2 camera I had to use ES File Explorer to copy and paste files into the Device/system/app folder. Not sure if I can just delete those files and replace them with the originals? Also, I do not remember which ones were deleted during the process.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Guess no one can help me restore my original camera app on my phone ????????????

I have two files under Documents & Other in the Files folder named MyWorkLog.txt and ssoLogs.txt that I don't believe to be important and would like to delete, but I don't want to screw my phone up. Are they safe to delete or no?

I would check the timestamp of its last modification, and have a look into the text files.
Then decide if the files are currently used and contain important data, or not.
Maybe better to move the files into a backup folder first, check if everything still works fine, and delete the files later.
It is just a lay out of codes that make up your screen usual when you download PicsArt and sometimes your texting/messaging app.
