[Q] LTE Tablet power/charging issue - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone.
I have recently got my replacement LTE Tabled from nvidia since the first one had a defective screen and hoped this time it would be a flawless one but it wasn't the case.
So, my issue is power/charging related. It shuts down suddenly when I connect the original micro usb wire to the tablet's port and observe the LED charging light flashes very fast for 5-10 seconds then becomes steady. I have tried different cables and different chargers, all will bring the same issue. After I turn it back on it will shut down again after different intervals of time.
Wonder if there is anyone aware of this issue and know how to fix or I should just initiate another RMA case with nvidia.

RAZR HD with problem

Hello, I bought a RAZR HD 3 months ago and it is not working as I was expecting. It turns off and on suddenly at least 3 times a day, in use and in standby. It turns the screen on and off a lot times during the day without any intervention of mine. The earphone input is not working anymore. The charging/USB port is malfunctioning.
These are the main problems of the phone.
I would like to know if someone has the same problems I have.
Thanks.
To rule out the charging/usb port, have you tried a brand new USB cable? I find that after 6 months or so, the clips wear out and I need to replace the cable. So I just buy 2-4 at a time from Monoprice and change them out when the clips wear off.
As far as turning on/off, I would do a fresh install of the operating system. If the phone continues to have these problems then you know it is hardware related and nothing anyone can do here to help you.
Sorry, hope getting a new cable and factory reset solves everything.

[Q] Charger Problems on Lollipop

Hey guys,
I've noticed in the past days I'm having a weird issue on my Moto G GPE running Lollipop 5.0.1.
In order to the phone starts charging I have to reboot it everytime, unless battery level is above 60%. So basically, I've ruled out other possible causes, tried different chargers, I've cleaned the microusb port several times and nothing seems to work. Everytime the battery is below 60% charge and I plug in the charger port, nothing happens, so, I turn off the phone and immediately the screen lights up with the charging battery logo. I turn on the phone again and it is still charging. Could this be a bug or hardware related stuff? I would really appreciate any help on this because it's really annoying having to restart the phone everytime I need to charge it.
Thanks for your time lads!
Cheers!

Screen on ONLY by power button

Hello I'm using HTC M8 on GPE 5.1 rom.
Does anyone know of an xposed module or any other means to turn off all gesture/proximity features? I want the screen to ONLY turn on when I hit the power button.
The screen keeps turning on in my pocket for notifications which then causes but dials or emergency calls.
So does no one else have screen on issues when phone is in their pocket?

I can't be sure about the diagnosis of your issue, but in my case, I used to have a similar problem with my Galaxy Nexus
When the phone thought it was charging, it would light up in my pocket. The problem was that I had been using different usb cables to charge the same phone. And one of those usb cables had bent something in the micro-usb female slot of my phone. So the phone would randomly light up and go to sleep even when I wasn't touching it.
This not only caused the battery to drain more quickly, but when the phone lit up in my pocket and I was accidentally touching my activated screen, it would do all kinds of things in response to my touch. The short-term fix was to enable the lock screen on my phone (which I didn't like having) and set the debugging mode to stop turning "on" the screen all the time when it was charging (which is a setting I usually have on all the time because I am a developer). However, this didn't solve all my problems. The screen still lit up in my pocket from time to time, even if it didn't stay lit up for long.
The longterm fix was to use the same micro-usb to usb cable (the one that looked the closest to the original cable that I could remember) every single time with the same exact phone. And that eventually did the trick. I also looked into replacing the component in question, but I didn't have to go that far since the simpler solution worked for me.

Phone not charging and not powering on! Help!

Recently i had the exact issue occur with my phone. (Alcatel's crappy charging port) This is what happened: My phone was charging very slowly and wasnt notifying me when plugged in (just showed lightning bolt in battery icon), when turned off only notification light would be on and phone would not say it's charging, when it was off i had to have to hold down all physical buttons on phone to power on. From a quick google search i found out that it was the charging port (since it wasnt any of the other possible causes) and i did the quick fix that a google result recommended i.e. Take a toothpick and gently angle tab in charging port up. My phone was charging just as quick and operating just as smoothly as it should. After about a month of my quick fix, im experiencing the same problem only this time my quick fix is not working. Phone just powers off and stays off, when plugged in notification light comes on but no matter how long its plugged in for the phone will not power on. I noticed the phone started to charge extremely slow, so i reached for my toothpick and got to work, but now im in a very confusing situation. Can anyone advise me on what i can do to fix this problem??
** Idol 3 5.5" Model, 6045I , Rooted, With xPosed framework and quite a few light modules installed. Im always on the go and im a power user so im always plugging in and out my charger. **
OK , my advice is to take the device to a repair center , but if you are a DIY guy , you can try to open the back of the phone and adjust the charging port. My experience (not with the idol 3) tells me , that the port just got loose from the board . you can try to weld it.
Regards. Best of luck.

[Bricked?] No Display/ No Vibration, Mi 10 Ultra

Hey Everyone,
my phone stopped working a few days ago and I don't know why.
When I bought it little over a year ago, I flashed the xiaomi.eu rom + twrp etc.
Everything worked fine since then, no major problems just little bugs which got fixed with ota updates.
After I turned off the phone for the night with approx.~70% charge left it wouldn't turn on in the morning.
No vibration, no display, no recognition from my PC, nothing. I tried various charger and cable combinations even leaving it plugged in over my day off.
I even "listened" to the charging brick and compared the sound of the capacitor(s) while plugging in the Phone and then my tablet and vice versa.
The phone seems to at least close a circut.. so charging port is good I guess.
I unfortunaly have no way to measure amps and volts going in.
Does any of you have an idea what could've caused the problem und maybe how to fix it?
