[Q]Root for ASUS Fonepad 7 (FE170CG) - General Questions and Answers

Hello!
I own a device named ASUS Fonepad 7 (FE170CG) which has an OS of Android 4.4.2 (Kitkat). The problem with Kitkat is that it does not third-party apps to save files on my SD card and it saves on my internal storage instead. My SD card is only 4GB (2.11 GB system reserved) and it's almost full now. There is no choice left but to root my device. I also wanted to uninstall some apps that were preloaded in my tablet that I do not use (e.g. Amazon Kindle, Omlet Chat).
Is there any reliable root app for my device? I have searched on other forums but no luck. I have found some videos in Youtube on how to root my device but some users commented that when they use root checker, it says it is not rooted.
I am hoping for your help.
Thank you and good day.

[Q] Moving apps to / Running apps from SD Card on Samsung 10.1 tablet note

I recently rooted my tablet with the hope of being able to run apps (apps2sd) to move
applications to my SD card. But even running these apps rooted does not help. Is there
no possibility that a user can move their apps to their SD card on these tablets and
run them from there? I know it is not enabled in these version of Android OS on such
devices but is there any workaround this?
Thanks and regards

Here is a link to an app called DirectoryBind http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410262
DirectoryBind_0.2.0o.apk is the latest version http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=862197&d=1326918270
Or another is FolderMount [ROOT] on the play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount
I have read that some apps have issues read post #2246 in the DirectoryBind link (1st link)
.
I have been using Folder Mount (in the market) on my galaxy tab 2 10.1 running 4.1.2 without any problems. Don't have my note 10.1 yet but should work fine.

Shield Tablet K1 - twrp - SD

Hello,
I'm having a headache with my tablet. I have rooted the tablet but kept the stock rom. Root does work. But apps still can't write on external sd unless they implemented the new way to request access. What I don't understand is that I don't have this problem on my htc one m9 rooted. For exemple, VLC player. On my M9, I can delete file on my sd from the app, but not on my tablet.
The other problem is with twrp. I try to make a backup to my external sd and it says external_sd is read only.
Is there a way to fix these?
thank you

[Completed] LG K3 LS450 from Boost Mobile (Help with Root)

Hello,
Looking for help rooting my LG K3 LS450, I've tried at least 6 root apps both from the PC and from the Phone. Is there a way to manually root a phone which isn't compatible with any root applications currently available? The phone came with 8gb of storage and about 1gb of that is free for use, the rest being bloatware. I purchased a fast SD card to format as internal storage but the phone doesn't allow that option. And of course I can't remove any of the bloatware, leaving me unable to install what I'd actually like!
Thanks!

[Completed] Soft rooted device counts SD stored apps as used inner memory

Hi there,
I'd like to ask for your kind help.
Info
Device: d402 (Navon Mizu D402)
OS: Android KitKat 4.4.2
Originally NOT rooted
Memory (device I internal) 1,27 GB
Rooted (soft break) by Kingo Root, SU by Kingo Root
SDHC Maxell 16GB class 10 (32GB can be extended).
Used apps: Force2SD
QUESTION: there is not an app that would show me apps are forced to SD.
Only music and audio files are shown.
It seems that although there are 450GB free memory is available in the device
it seems that phone counts SD used memory taken by apps as it was used by device in its own inner memory,
so device randomly reboots itself.
Is it possible to see apps on SD?
File Manager counts MBs are used by photo and audio files too only.
Although I rooted phone and able to move apps to SD device randomly restarts itself.
Thanks for your kind help in advance!
Hope to hearing from you soon!

Nika

A "safe" way to root an android 5.1.1

I need to root an old tablet with android 5.1.1 to expand app storage and move some to SD card, but I saw here that apps like kingroot are not a good idea because of the adware/monitoring they install. What would be a "safe" way to root android 5.1.1?
The Device is a 7 inch samsung tab A tablet, model SM-T285M.
obs: I know the dangers of rooting my device, but as it has only 8gb of internal storage, I need root to install applications on the sd card, unless there is another way in this version of android..
Thanks
You can only install / move an app to the external SD if the developer of that app has allowed it. It doesn't depend on whether Android is rooted or not.
