Hi I came from the Nexus 5 community. Sorry if my understanding of the Oneplus is not up to the standard. Just want to know if the Android 5.0 custom ROMs are ok to be flashed? Do they contain any major bugs and are they good to be considered to be as daily driver?
I use it as daily ROM, and i don't got any problems yet, i update my phone once a week.

Please keep in mind the disclaimers "Alpha Version....". I use CRDroid 5.01-20141211-bacon as my DD. Great Battery life.
I use temasek unofficial cm12 as daily driver for about a month now no problems. It also gets updated very regularly like every day pretty much with new fixes

I'm using cm-12-20141220-UNOFFICIAL-bacon and the main issue I have is with the camera:
1. Using Cyanogen official camera APK, is slow / laggy and basically not great to use.
2. Shoot a 4k video and It seems that the 4k playback is laggy as hell and pretty much not usable. I use MX Player and I can't get H/W to work. But as mentioned, taking a video on 4K is slow while actually filming.
3. If you try to use any 3rd party camera app with Flash on, you'll get split exposure on a single image. Which means that you have to use CM camera, but again, this is a slow to operate. You can feel it's not smooth like using Google Camera.
4. If you use google camera to take 4K video, you'd still get the slowness while filming and playback is lagging all over.
All in all, this is my main complaint on using this phone.
Can anyone confirm these issues?

Most of the bugs have been mentioned on the last ten pages of THIS thread. For me, the slightly regressed battery life and the audio issues were enough to drive me back to CM11s. It is good for a Alpha though

Stock CM11s or Calkulins version alongside stock or Franco's kernel. Should be good with either.

Pretty awesome. Stock ROM. I'm reluctant to use the the Franco kernel because it said I have to change the build prop to keep root. Which I have no idea how to do

So, does (or will) the camera app in CM10 have the same burst mode that the Sense camera has? Can you take AS MANY photos AS QUICKLY? Will those photos be similar quality? Will we be able to pull stills from previously recorded video? Or take Hi Res stills while shooting HD video?
I read the last 15 pages of the development thread and didn't see any of this being discussed.
Thanks a bunch!

Burst mode is a sense cam feature only, because there is no sense in cm those features will not be there. Your best bet is if you want sense cam but asop feel go with clean rom or tn rom, they can desense the launcher but keep the apps but you will be on ics. But i will say the cm cam is alot faster then it used to be and is still a good camera.
**PLEASE READ IN REGARDS TO CAMERA ISSUES WITH CM10**
The rapid fire camera mode is named Zero Shutter Lag or ZSL and there are plans to implement this in the near future. You will also soon be able to take still pictures while recording video. H8 & the CM10 team are working on getting every feature of the camera to 100% and they say they are nearly there.
However, as of right now the camera, video camera, & panorama mode is still relatively broken. The camera's bare bones features are working but only in the build's that are labeled as EXPERIMENTAL. The regular CM10 nightlies do not contain the WORKAROUND that H8 has come up with because this workaround has not been merged with the offical CM10 nightlies that the One XL is now getting.
Word on the street is the camera will be 100% working very, very soon so please be patient.
If you use and rely on the camera on a daily basis...please only flash the EXPERIMENTAL builds until further notice!!!

by audio fixes do you mean caller volume? Im on the 8/22 build. I heard the 8/19 has good caller voice but it kills my battery.
Any idea how we can get native emoji working? It gives the option to download the add on in keyboards settings. Installs. Then refreshes and shows ready to download again. Also, any plans for Google wallet? This ROM is amazing and ridiculously fast!! Thanks for your hard work and help!!

Definetly hit or miss. Heard it was fixed in the 8/28 but no music so I guess I'll stay on 8/22 and deal with it. Heard someone say they flashed AOKP ICS rom and reflashed CM10 and it was fixed.

I have a couple of general questions.
1. Will the official release of HTC JB drastically and rapidly improve the project? Will lots of things need to be redone/reoptimized? Or it's simply some missing links being filled? What kind of time frame can we expect for a fully working CM10 (equal or close to the quality of CM on the other officially supported devices) following the HTC JB release?
2. Exactly how was the team able to develop this rom so far without official support? And how much farther can this realistically go if we do not get the official JB in the near future (hopefully this doesn't happen). From what I read, I'm under the impression that this rom is already in a much better shape compared to the development phase CM builds on many other non-officially supported devices (for example ICS/JB builds on older devices that received EOL after GB). Is the kernel of the phone somewhat "easier" to crack compared to those devices or is that we have some super talented developers behind this project? And the developer seems confident that even without official HTC JB, this rom can pretty much become a *fully working* one?
Thanks for the awsome work!
Is wake locks an issue with cm10 so far or just a few users isolated type instance? I was getting massive wake lock for alarmmanager that I do not get on CleanRom.
anyone else getting bad battery life with this ROM? currently running the 8/29 nightly.
Right now im at 33% battery with 11h on the battery but only 1h45min screen time. I also have GPS on and brightness around 1/2..which could possibly be the problem.

1. Nope, didn't help us at all. Didnt need it. As far as I'm concerned, after tonight's nightly (technically...tomorrow morning's nightly) everything is pretty much 100%. a few bugs here or there...but I think the Nexus devices are the only ones ahead of us regarding "working" status.
2. We're magical. *snicker* just kidding. We've pretty much completely beat HTC to Jellybean with CM10. The great part of the kernel work intervigil has provided is that we use the same kernel for ICS and JB. Meaning we can backport all JB stuff to ICS with minimal differences. We are very confident that this will be a fully working one. The last piece we needed was the Camera HAL which we *just* received.
Thank you for the thanks! Enjoy!

That sir, is very impressive. "Beating HTC to jellybean" sounds so satisfying in an ambitious way, and completely changes the way these games used to be played. Hats off to all the "magicians" who made this happen!
One more question: what about LTE? I'm currently on the 4.0.4 based CleanRom 4.5, which is my first custom rom flashed on the phone (only bought it a week ago). Do I have to flash back to a 4.0.3 based ROM (which I have trouble finding) before flashing to CM 10? If the answer is still yes, is a solution being worked out to troubleshoot and solve the problem?

I'm not entirely sure if something is being worked on but I think you should flash CR4.0 as it is definitely working and is 4.0.3 base which is what h8rift said to flash.
Sent from my HTC One X(L/AT&T)
May I ask what is the right procedure to flash CM10? In the zip there is a boot.img. Do we need to manually extract and flash it with fastboot?
I ask this because some people (including me) can't make LTE to work in CM9/10. Some say by flashing CleanROM 4.0, full reset then flash CM10, LTE will be the default. This trick does not work for me. What is the mechanism of this trick? What stays after full reset? All I can think is the boot image. But even manually flashing CleanROM's boot.img then flash CM10 does not work for me. Changing build.prop (ro.ril.def.preferred.network and ro.telephony.default_network as suggested at code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=1623 , sorry can't link external) of course does not work either.
I know #*#*info*#*# can change the preferred network type, but it does not stick after reboot, which renders this approach useless.
Thanks.
Well, I'm sure this topic has be chewed thousands of times and then chewed again a thousand times more...
So I apologize for that in advance.
But I'm looking for a ROM for my OPO that I will settle with. And the Kernel which works best with it.
I was originally on CM11s (stock) and then tried a lot of different ones during the last few months. I'm currently running MAHDI ROM because it gave me a lot of features which have been interesting enough at the beginning but which I realistically don't need anymore. At least not most of them. And the main reason I don't wanna stay with MAHDI is the amount of crashes I'm having lately with almost any app I'm using including 'Contacts' which crashes often when I just answer the phone call. The phone restarts on it's own, volume bars are all messed up etc. So to sum up, I want to change.
Oxygen OS is not the one I'd like due to the lack of features. I don't need much features that MAHDI offers but I still need some which Oxygen OS does not provide. At all.
I'm planning to change to CM12 (official) and stay there. However, I've heard plenty of bad reviews regarding stability issues, battery extensive drain and some others. How legit are all those reviews? Is it all facts or it's selective like most of the issues users report? Mentioning CM12, I've heard that certain Kernels fix most of the issues, especially the stability ones and the battery drain issue. Please note that battery is quite important to me. I was quite happy with CM11s, not so much with MAHDI but then again, it's not awful. Which kernel works best with CM12 regarding stability and battery life?
Or there are better ROMs than CM12 regarding stability and battery life while not lacking in features?
Again, I know there have been plenty of topics and posts about it but I'd like some help here as I can't dig through thousands of topics and millions of posts to find the proper answer I'm looking for.
Thanks in advance.
There's a ROM review thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/best-favorite-rom-kernel-roll-thread-t2886021
My personal favourite is Exodus though. The only reason I'm not on it right now is because it isn't at 5.1 yet (although they say the update is coming in the next days). You don't need a custom kernel with Exodus, the stock kernel performs really well. It's packed full of great features, it's original development too which means it isn't just cherry-picked features. Plus there's a new feature being implemented called Morph that they say is going to be incredible.

Nothing STABLE yet. That said, I've been running CM13 for over a month and I love it. Thanks for the feedback. I saw also (in subsequent posts) that the RR MM 6.0 ROM is also stable. I have never run CM before, so can anyone enlighten me so I don't have to drop 8 hours testing out both ROMs.... my questions are:
1) Which has a better camera experience? CM or RR? Stable, no FC.
2) which is more stable with less problems (ie, GPS, BT, no SD card, no 4G data, etc...)
3) which has better battery life?
4) Do either support device encryption? That was one of the major improvements in MM that no one seems to be talking about.
Thanks alot for the replies, and thanks to the developers for creating these, you guys and gals are awesome!

Do I have to use an aftermarket camera app like I did on SlimROMs? I used Open Camera. While it worked, it was sssslllloooowwww and sometimes caused the camera to crash, at which point I would have to pull the battery for it to work again (really annoying when you are trying to get Kindergarten graduation pics of your son...). I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, and those problems went away though. Android is so weird...
For this reason, I will never ever to get inside a google autonomous car. I'm gonna be the last old timer left, and everyone will ridicule me. "In my day, WE drove! And we liked it! We loved it!"
No aftermarket app will change the fact that you will be missing the LG firmware.
Personally I love the way LG has the camera setup where I can just tap the screen it focuses then snaps it. No LG camera on 3rd party rom so I went back to stock. If your phone is as important to you as you claim given all the questions you asked it would be worth your while to wait for the official update as I will. Let the rest test and be dissatisfied with the problems and lack of features. Note that I haven't had a crash or freeze since I got away from cm12

Point taken, but I don't think I'll get the official OTA MM anyway because I am not on ATT, but on Cricket. Or would I just download from XDA and flash it myself?
Did you still root and debloat the stock ROM? Or just leave it completely stock?

After trying many a many roms here for both d851 and d850 (My son and mine), I would definitely stick with stock if you take pics. The d851 is actually in better shape (mm wise) as it has a supported CM13, but the camera is poor. As for cricket- my understanding is that some phones get att updates, and some don't. If an update doesn't happen after you know mm has been released, you can wait a week or two and it very well may be posted here to flash- or you can pick up a att go phone sim for a couple of bucks and flash, then drop the cricket sim back in.
And yes you can root & debloat, but I haven't seen a prepackaged 20g (that has the stagefright patch) debloated yet. I just use super uninstaller app from the play store, which requires root.
here I am just stock with root & recovery (if needed) haven't found a need to use either yet but I like having the option available.
I have all the stock crummy at&t apps disabled because actually "removing" them requires quite a bit of time that I haven't yet found.
If I install cm13 or RR do I lose the LG IR remote?
I don't think there is a custom IR remote apk for MM yet like there is for lollipop.

What is a good stock ROM you would recommend?
LineageOS 14.1 Official
Franco Kernel
Open Camera
So I have been using lineage for the last three weeks, and am seriously disappointed in the camera. Before flashing I was stock CyanogenOS.
I have yet to take a decent photo since upgrading to nougat. And once those shots hit Google photos, they look even worse.
I do know that you need the blobs for the camera to work well, and I see a couple of threads talking about the different blobs for the various roms. What I don't know is if I can get the blobs through a kernel or maybe another nougat rom. I get the feeling that I am SOL. If I can't... This guy is going back to sock.
I don't care about slomo. HDR. 60fps video etc. I just want to be able to take good shots, and decent vids.
If there are any tricks, or something that I need to flash, please feel free to elaborate in the comments below.
Thanks.
PS. I have also seen comparisons with Oxygen, Color, Cyanogen, etc. A pros and cons list per se. If I am going to have to roll back and put on something that is considered 'stock' on the OPO... Should I be going to Oxygen or Color? Cyanogen is pretty fluid, with little lag. I would want OOS or COS to be the same. Only thing worse than a crappy camera is a lag fest.

I did the F2FS thing a while back with Zaphod. Can't be bothered to do it all over again. But thanks for taking the time to post. Someone might come across this and want to give it a shot.

I've actually been looking for the exact same thing. I'm on stock COS but it's been random rebooting on me for a while now (must be getting old) and I've heard good things about the oos port for the One. Along with these kernel/blob suggestions, I think this is exactly what I need to give a fresh start to my tired old OPO. Thanks again!
Edit: how about bacon camera instead of cameranext? It's being updated still (using it even now on cos for things where I need manual focus).

Yes.
find7op = bacon.
find7 = Oppo Find 7.
I'm running LOS 14.1 and over on the thread for the Lightening Kernan they all said for LOS Rome we need to use Version V38... will using V56 have any adverse effects on the ROM at all? I appreciate any info you all have.. I used to be a flashaholic back in the day with my late great HTC HD2, but have been out of the customization game for a few years.

Hello, I tried to flash v56 on LOS 14.1 and all I got as a result was a non-booting phone. So I guess there's some incompatibility issue. Keep in mind that I'm a new bacon user so I'm not that experienced with the world of its mods etc, so I might as well have done something wrong. Anyway it's better to talk about this in that kernel's thread.
Using the lightening 54 or 56 whatever it was, had to install the kernel a second time before phone would boot. But have had some major annoyances. It reboots a couple times a day, it takes upwards of three or four secs from the time I hit the button for the screen to come on etc. Pics are pretty good though. Going to update to new 14.1 nightly and try things for another few days before I give up on it. Will probably move over to omni if things continue.

You know if I am being honest... the experience on stock CyanogenOS is the best. I guess COS is ColorOS so I should just shut up. But at the end of the day I ultimately feel like I am going to end up going back and fastboot flashing the original Cyanogen files and going back to stock. When it installs right, with no ones and zeros crossed, there is no better experience on the OPO. Not giving up yet, but the writing is for sure on the wall.

They said V38 if you are using cm camera. So I would guess if using OOS blobs, you need to use the other. I am going o post about my lag issues over there and see what is said, so maybe keep an eye on that thread for more info.
Edit: Nevermind. I thought about turning off 'prevent accidental wakeup' and things are working great so far. Now to figure out the rebooting issues. Hopefully today's LOS update will fix.
I've been keeping my eye on that thread. Only reason I posted in here asking is because of the post suggesting to flash Lightening v56, OOS Blobs, and CameraNext. I thought someone running LOS had to have done this and had some feedback. I followed the steps last night and the camera is looking much better but the phone seems to be running warmer. I'm gonna give it a few days and see how it settles.

Not having warmer issues at all on this end. I will say this though... keep an eye on your battery drainage when phone is not in use. ie. in doze mode. You might need to flash a different modem. One thing I have also noticed on 14.1 is I rarely have signal, on any modem, until I turn wifi off. Probably a battery saving/nougat thing, but still kinda weird. The 01/25/2016 c7 modem works best for me as far as drainage is concerned. I wouldn't flash new modem firmware unless standby drainage is an issue. I originally did it because I had no data at all, and new modem didn't fix it anyways.
So, I'm pretty sure there's lots of threads like this one, but I went through many and just couldn't find what I needed. Anyway, the title clearly explains it. I'm currently on the stock Oxygen OS 2.1.4 based on Lollipop. Kinda got bored and finally thought of upgrading. Am not a noob btw.
1) Of course, the ROM should be fast and stable. I play a lot of PUBG, so performance and stability is a priority.
2) Camera is a priority. I've read that ColorOS blobs are the best. Do any Oreo or Nougat ROMs have them?
3) Features are the least important for me. I can even live with vanilla Android. I'll root it with Magisk and install systemless Xposed anyway.
4) Don't care about having latest security patches or something.
5) OTAs would be nice, if possible.
6) Oreo would also be nice, but I think Oreo ROMs aren't that stable right now, are they? Nor do I think they contain all the features I mentioned above.
All suggestions are appreciated! Please provide links for any ROMs you mention.
The reason I want to switch is because recently I did a factory reset and restored apps with Titanium Backup, which made the device real slow and apps like WhatsApp and many other are constantly misbehaving.

I'm not a big fan of unofficial roms. Might I suggest DotOS? Mr.AK's roms are very well built, daily driver material. This is my current daily driver. The only issue I have is HDR in landscape mode, but that shouldn't be an issue as the camera works as perfect as stock Cyanogen OS 13 (meaning you don't get weird contrast or quality issues as when not using the stock camera app). My favorite feature of the rom is the automatic increased contrast in very bright conditions like the Redmi Note 3 Pro, which improves visibility and legibility in direct sunlight. It can be found here:

I was very sceptical for the same reason at first, but being that I like DotOS from previous device experiences, I decided to try it anyways. Apart from what I mentioned, the ROM is extremely stable.
I'm on DOT O.S atm. Beautiful ROM. Two main issues. Oneplus gesture's (v-torch, o - camera etc) don't work and no nfc.. Shame it's an amazinf rom otherwise.
I find with oreo rom's I seems to always have problems with either nfc or gps or bluetooth. Gestures I can live without. Can anyone recommend a well tested Oreo rom that has these features working?
