I got a 50% coupon for the official site a couple weeks ago, but everyone was out of stock. I've been checking daily. Things seem to be back in stock now. I just picked up the extra battery kit(battery plus a case/holder than charges it via a USB port). $45 retail, but after 50% off, but then shipping it was $27.90 to my door.

Ordered one from ebay 16 days ago. U$20 delivered for a charger (charges battery + USB output) and 2(!) batteries. Came in today. Seem to be legit, batteries fit fine, come in about 40% charge in em. Charging both at the moment, will post later as to the longevity etc.
Search ebay for title (the quoted part of it), $20 delivered.
No idea how this chinese quality is, but it´s cheap

OK,
1st battery charged in N1, seems to be fine after 3 hrs of occasional use, still 100% charge. The other one charged in the charger that came with it, will test it tomorrow. Charger gives indication when the charge is complete. I guess we got ourselves a winner here
Good to hear. I ordered the same bundle a week or so ago and I'm waiting for it. Things from HK do seem to take a while to get to the US - guess that's the price you pay.
I got this same deal!
It's a crazy bargain! I love have (3) batteries on me when traveling. In a hotel room it's wonderful to find a spare remote outlet and charge up the depleted batteries. No down time.
I received my batteries and charger from China very quickly.
thanks i'll look into this
EDIT: Which seller did you guys buy from?
Just trying to help,
This one,

Wow. That's quite a deal! I don't really think I need it but I'm sorely tempted to order a set anyway just in case.
This deal hooked me.
This is a NO BRAINER!
You get the 2800 mAh worth of power for 1/3 the price. Plus you get the external charger.
The only "negative" to me is that I have to shut down the phone to swap batteries... but the N1 reboots so fast... not really a negative.
The big "positive" is that I get the additional power in reserve... without getting a big ugly battery and new battery door that alters the slick look of my phone.
I don't have an scientific evidence yet.... but these new batteries seem to actually run longer than my stock battery.
I got this. Its a phenominal deal. The batteries are top notch, and I'm almost inclined to think one of them actually works better than the stock battery, but that could just be my imagination. Hard to test.
The charger is great too.
I ordered the same set on the 18th and I still dont have mine! Glad you all are happy with yours! I am going to file a dispute tomorrow, 3 weeks is too long!

2800 mAh is double the OEM battery, so of course they run longer then the stock battery

Uhhmmm....he is saying that 2 batteries at 1400 = one batter at 2800. They are talking about 2 batteries and a charger for 20$.
This is a great deal! Maybe too good to be true?? Please keep us updated on how these batteries perform throughout the year.
Any issue with charge times? It is only rated plugged in at output 4.2V 350mA, this seems a little low to me.
I do see it is rated higher for the USB output connection, is this to the battery or just to the USB port, of 5.2V 800mA?
Thanks
Don't file a dispute... that is pointless.
E-mail them and ask for it to be sent again however if they say no then you can dispute it BUT standard postage can take FOREVER.
I have ordered CDs from America (where most of you guys are) and sometimes they have come in 5 days and sometimes it has been a month.
Unfortunately your US mail is incredibly unreliable and then when you add into that the fact it is coming from Hong Kong so has to go through so many mail systems you should just relax and be patient!
I ordered the same package yesterday and also the 8-in-1 HD2 package with 3 screen protector, 3 cases, MUSB to cig lighter charger and an extra MUSB cable which I can use those 2 both with my HD2 and N1 as I already have cases for the N1 and screen protectors.
Folx,
I have used both batteries, charged via both N1 and the charger that came part of the deal. Used the charger to charge N1's original battery. No issues encountered. Having total of 3 batteries must be a godsend for frequent travelers and alike.
I never hesitate when ordering items from China/HK. Takes anywhere from 1.5 to 3 weeks, never had anything lost.

I ordered on the 18th too...Glad to see I'm not the only one still waiting. I'm even more glad to hear that the quality seems OK so far.
Hopefully it will be waiting for me when I get home tonight!

This exact battery is $50 at Best Buy.
Anyone try this battery yet? I have a few batteries laying around that have all gone to crap and my 1750 from seidio isn't holding it's charge very well anymore.
Still can't bring myself to buy the 3500.
Might want to consider & shop for OEM 1500 maH ?
Haven't tried them yet but I got a supposingly OEM battery (1500 maH) for the Ozone/Imagio at around $10 including shipping via eBay, and I switched it over to the Eris since the Ozone is now used only as an unlocked spare for GSM/wifi purposes, etc. Got it from these folks, fast ship as they're local & was in our mailbox in 4 or 5 days.

It's only slightly larger than the OEM 1300 maH rated battery, but this one fit perfectly as well and with the custom Froyo, rooted phone, giving me enough juice for a full 18-30 hours day without running low - depending on usage, and, at night, I just hook it up to the charger. Plus, I got plenty of vechile & usb charging option while on the go, plus, the spare battery resulting from the switch with me most of the time, so I'm good going anywhere with the device.
I prefer not to throw more money for a 3500 maH battery+cover as none of the protective cover/shield/cases out there are designed for the thicker phone & its bulk, which sort of defeat the purpose of using this relatively "compact" device especially on a side-by-side with the TB and their related siblings.
I just ordered this battery OP suggested, will test it out and get back to you guys some time next week. Really needed a battery a bit bigger than what I've got now, and I think $10 fits the bill! Thanks OP.
I've tried out the battery over the past few days, and I'm impressed. I had the oem 1500 battery before, and it went down in life really quick throughout the day. On normal use, I would only have 20-30% by lunch time. But I took it off the charger at 7:50am today, and it's at 80% right now (1:23pm). Most of the weekend, I was hooked up to Wi-Fi, and it lasted an entire day and a half on normal use. I define normal use as 30-60 minute sessions of browsing the web, and texting every now and then for about 5-10 minutes. I'm enjoying it a lot. For only $10 you can't go wrong. So if you want a battery that will last you through the day, this is it. Thanks for the find, OP.
Hey folks.
Just thought I would let you know about what I just bought.
It's the same as is sold here on amazon for £30:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kit-Power-Junkie-Emergency-Charger/dp/B004S5CP2E
Bought it from Asda and it was only £7!
Just charging it up now.
Phil
Let us know how much it charges the Desire before it goes flat.
I bought a Nexxus PowerBoost (http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/nexxus-powerboost-pro-emergency-charger-p21937.htm) and it's only able to charge about 30% before the 2 AA batteries go flat.
It apparantly it will charge an iPhone 4.5 times.
I charged it up when I first got it then charged the phone up from 30% to full. Then went the week using it to top up the battery each day.
It was showing one bar on the power indicator before I charged it but seemed far from flat!
Really impressed with it!
They still had them when I went in last week.
Phil
I've got the one from Amazon called a "New Trent ultra-pack IMP50B 5000mAh Universal USB Battery Pack" (I would have posted a link but as a new poster, I've found I can't yet. Anyone interested ought to be able to find it with that title). It's nowhere near as cheap as the OP's £7 bargain(!) but I find it really useful.
I'd recommend one of these external batteries to anyone who travels often or who does a lot of outdoors activities who doesn't want to double the thickness of their phone and might want more than 50-100% extra charge.
Look for the all-important auto-off when the phone is fully charged or when the unit isn't in use. No point having a charger which flattens itself :| There's a newer version which people complain doesn't have that feature
My one will do about 2.5 charges before going flat with the Desire. I mostly got it for long-haul flights and long days in the big outdoors, but I'm finding its also handy in my current car where the 12v outlet is miles from the dash, when I use copilot for GPS
So I ordered this the other day off of amazon, It actually ended up being a package deal with 2 batteries and a wall charger. The whole package was about $20 after shipping and took about 5 days to arrive at my doorstep.
The battery charger is universal, and not great but it works. I charged one of the batteries through the night last night, placed it in my phone today, and It worked quite well. I got right around 17 hours use from 100%-5% . I am in the process of buying my first house right now, so for those of you that have not experienced the "joy" It requires tons of emails/phone calls/ texts and will keep you very busy throughout the day. my factory battery would not have lasted the day, and this one did so with ease.
Anyway so far I feel it was 20 dollars well spent.
cheers.
So I've been using the Ankar Astro 3e for about a year now without any issues. I paid $60 for mine a year ago and just noticed they're down to $40 on amazon. If anyone is in the market for a reliable external battery for cheap, here's your chance.

I hope it doesn't happen BUT I'd be willing to bet a dollar that in <6mos it won't hold much of a charge, granted I haven't had much better luck with "name brand" battery packs (maybe a full year of use) but cheap no name ones really don't last long for me.

i bought it like 4 months ago, fully charged it back then, its been sitting in a drawer since. I pulled it out this past weekend for a trip to charge both my & my wifes Nexus 4's (simultaneously). Aferwards its indicator was still showing a >75% charge.

I have an Anker 1000mA pack and I can tell you the charging indicator is not linear. Mine stays around full to 3/4 for a long time and then apparently depletes very quickly.
Also Anker tell me their packs can only deliver 70% of the rated charge, in my case 700mA ... They don't tell you that when you go to buy one!
