[Q] Video Unlimited - Free Movies - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Redeemed the free movies Spider-man 2, Ghostbusters and Capt Phillips. Only Capt Phillips seems to be available on my phone. I've deleted Movie App updates, uninstalled Sony Entertainment Network, reinstalled. Still nothing.
Anyone else had this?

Download the Sony MediaGo PC app and login to your accoung and see if it shows there.

I redeemed it at the Xperia Lounge and it shows up in the movie app, with a little Sony unlimited symbol next to the movie. Have you signed in your account?

All movies show when logged into the SEN. Nothing shows at all in Video Unlimited on the TV. On the phone, movies app and video unlimited, only Capt Phillips.

I can't seem to even redeem mine. I get try again later which makes me sad.

I suppose you could contact Sony support.

Already tried at least twice a week since I got the phone. End up playing hand off game between Xperia support and SEN.

have you ever used netflix?
lots of TV shows, feature films, documentaries. Sometimes you're on the road and want to watch something (I don't have a laptop).
As to the OP, the only solution right now I believe is to use a streamer like playon found here: http://www.playon.tv/
you get a trial, just download the server, put in your credentials for netflix or any other service you use then download the player from the android market, have it connected via wifi to the PC running the server, find it, pair it then you're golden. You only need to have it on the same network the first time you connect to the server. Used this a few weeks ago in a completely different state on my wife's atrix and it worked wonderfully!
Future phones will likely have improved DRM capability but existing phones (like my captivate) will probably never get a true netflix app.
Playon is awesome though, I stream to my phone and my HTCP running XBMC (which also cannot get netflix normally!)
Lots of other stuff on there too like NHL gamecenter, Hulu, and various other digital media sources (including files on the PC running the server)

Live Stream Video?

I have tried Qik on my Galaxy S, and it doesn't work.
Tried Justin TV but it lacks quality videos.
Which app could I use to stream live good quality videos (doesn't matter if I have to pay)
And is there another APP to have an online photo album? Something like I took a photo and it goes automatically online for the public?
I'm traveling tomorrow, and I want my family to see the places I visit.
Thanks
Take pictures and email them. Lol, j/k. Do they have the same phone as you or possible an Android based phone? If so try the app called tango.

[Q] Watch ESPN app (officially WatchESPN)

Has anyone been able to use the new WatchESPN app successfully? It worked great at first when I was on their 4 hour trial period. Then I successfully added my cable company (FIOS) and when I click on any video, it does nothing. It doesn't even try to load the video.
Working here.
Did you complete your registration via the email sent to you.
do i need subscription or access via cable/satellite to espn3.com to be able to use this app to watch vbideo?
Video quality is still crappy. Unless they come up with an honeycomb version or someone could hack it to work with larger screens it is not that great
I tried, but the viewing size was too small. When I expand it, the picture was half off the screen. I switched to watching on Dolphin browser to watch my football game.
Revisiting this...trying to watch with VeganTab Ginger Edition.
Any video I try to watch that's not on ESPN3 (as listed on the schedule page) just gives me a generic ESPN logo with "error".
Going back to the schedule page gives me a "cannot load user data" message.
When I view the videos marked a ESPN3, I get audio, but the video is a still frame of the first frame loaded.
Anyone have any work arounds?

Amazon Cloud Player Premium... Thoughts?

Hey everyone. I've been using Amazon's Cloud Player service for a while now, and I've been thoroughly enjoying. However, I got an email yesterday stating how they're changing things up on their end, mainly with the introduction of a "premium" service that'll cost $25/year. All of the details can be seen by clicking the link below, but I'm not sure what to make of it. I'm not sure if this is going to benefit me or be a rip-off. Are there any other services like this that are FREE and works well? I refuse to use Google Music since you can only download their MP3s a total of three times, after that you're kind of SOL. With Amazon, you can download those MP3s as often as you want and best of all their DRM free!
So, what is everyone's thoughts about this change in their product/service? Read the full update HERE.
Google Music should allow you to download indefinitely if you use their download app to do it. But downloading from the web has the 3x limit. I've been using Audiogalaxy happily for a long time now. They're free, but it requires you to run a file on your home pc to host it. So if your pc is offline, you're not going to hear your music.
That said, the upside is that there's no uploading. They read the folders you select on your pc and even correct the id3 tags (where possible). Any new music added to these folders becomes instantly accessible from any browser. Works on Android and iOS.
What i think will backfire on them is the matching of uploaded files which upgrades to a 256k version. Basically for a set annual fee you can convert music downloaded via methods the music industry disapprove of to a legitimate version. Don't see Amazon getting increased sales due to this.
Nice idea i can't believe the music industry would agree to.

I'm giving the new 30 day trial a go. Been running the importing app for about 24 hours and so far around 4000 tracks imported. The app crashed twice so far so some of that time was wasted.I have over 25,000 tracks. So this will take over a week to get done. The tracks are available on the service as soon as they are imported. Still debating the $25.00 a year vs Google Music free but the allure of having my entire collection available on the go is very interesting.
Amazon is fleecing you, don't do it.

Look, Google provides the same service to store your collection for streaming anywhere and they don't charge you.
On top of everything else, this is kind a kick in the balls to everyone who bought a Kindle Fire. I am an avid user of the Cloud Player service with my Fire, but 99% of my 50,000 tracks were legitimately ripped from CDs I purchased (ironically 75% of the CDs through Amazon). I have painfully uploaded them all to my account with that huge POS uploader and now Amazon says pay up or go away. Well, go away I will. I got my Nexus 7 three weeks ago and I already pay for 200GB of storage with Google. Google Play Music is not as nice as Amazon Cloud Player, but I won't pay Amazon their blackmail. Amazon better get their act together on the streaming titles or I'm dumping Amazon Prime and the Fire will be rooted and running a Cyanogen mod shortly.
BTW, there is not really a bonus for signing up before your trial ends as they have advertised. They are just trying to get you hooked on their storage, because 1 year from now, the bill will show up and be $25 for the 50GB plus $25 for Cloud Player Premium.
I was frustrated with Amazon's decision too. Here is an option that worked for me because I don't have a large music collection.
When Box was offering the free 50GB of storage earlier this year if you installed the app on an Android device, I jumped on it. Turns out that the CloudAround music player app can login to Box and Dropbox, and stream the music!
So now my Amazon music library only contains music I bought from Amazon, not imported music from CDs etc.

I thought there would be a lot more discussion regarding this topic, but guess I was wrong. Anyone jump on the $25/year premium deal? I'm starting to consider upgrading to it now.

help Sony Android tv play store error

I have a Sony Bravia tv with Android tv. I'm having issues with google play purchases. If it's free I can install without issue. Example I go to rent a movie from play movies it shows price I click on it then receive message error retrieving information from server. (DF-RPC-01)
Normally just like your android phone it would pop up a screen that ask to chose payment method and continue but that's the screen in missing. Help. I've had three tv's exchanged, contacted google and sony. No one has a clue.
I finally figured it out. Not sure which of the two made the difference but I did the registration through one of the Sony built in apps and not the obvious registration and using play store app settings payment methods I deleted old data. The most frustration ive had in a while. Lol
