Hi,
I have a moto G XT1032 since December 2013.
I changed this month of network provider, but my phone is locked.
I tried to have the unlock sim code from my former provider (SFR Vodaphone french company), but they sent me a code which is not working. They told me I had to wait several days / weeks to have a new code !!!
I contacted three sellers on ebay : one sent me the same wrong code, and the two others said me that my IMEI was not found.
Yesterday, I contacted Motorola directly, and they are not able to give me a code (cause the phone is locked by SFR)
I don't know what really to do... and I can't use my phone no more.
Someone would have a miraculous idea !?
Thanks per advance.
I unlocked mine XT1032 locked to AT&T here: https://www.unlockbase.com/unlock-phone/ 2 weeks ago - it was 10$ and the code arrive in 15 minutes.

Call T-Mobile
If the phone is no longer under contract (the old owner finished out the contract, or the phone was bought full price, or whatever) they are pretty helpful with unlocking them, at least in the USA.
agreed. call the carrier and if your nice and have been with the carrier long enough they usually can help you out.
My Defy came from Argentina... No chances to get an unlock code... Does anyone know another way to unlock Defy? Actually mine is just like an IPod

How do you tell if your D2G? I just received my awesome new D2G from verizon and the invoice states that it is unlocked. I will be visiting Saudi Arabia for a year and would like to use this phone on their networks, any suggestions?
George
PS, where do I get the XDA app? From the marketplace? <~~ nevermind, i found it.
I would call Global Support and ask them (800-711-8300). Since you're going to be out of the country for a year, get an unlock code from them just in case. You're allowed one every 10 months per line, so you've got nothing to lose. Or, you can make it to SA and see what happens. If it won't work over there, call Global Support and get the unlock code then (908-559-4899 - airtime free on VZW SIM card outside of US).
ok, does that mean i have to request one every 10 months or is the code permanent? I don't understand to purpose of the 908 phone #.

I bought a UK Moto G 4G on Tesco Mobile PAYG on the assumption that I'd be able to network unlock it using one of the many providers on eBay or similar. Unfortunately it appears that my IMEI isn't on whatever database they access for some reason.
Is there any other way of getting the network bar removed?
TIA

Maybe you just got a duff ebay provider. I've unlocked two Tesco XT1039s with codes from this ebay seller.
Unless Tesco have a new batch that aren't in their IMEI database, as you say,,,

Thanks. I tried three different sellers over a couple of days, including that one. None of them worked.
One of them has subsequently got back to me with the following:
There is a database issue with the Motorola service - affecting MOTO 4G handsets (and some E)..
All submissions made Monday/Tuesday were rejected as "not found" again..
I have been instructed to resubmit all IMEI - it is hoped that the server will reply again tomorrow..
If it fails to return the code again - it is advised the customers wait 1 - 2 weeks and then try to unlock again when it is thought the database will be updated/repaired - although this is not guaranteed.

Have you tried asking Tesco directly?
I know for my mums contract moto g they wanted £20 to unlock it, a bit pricey I know but better than nothing.
Hello all, i recently bought Moto G 4G from Tesco but it is sim locked. All ebay sellers give certain IMEI numbers that can be unlocked and my device is not one of them. Maybe someone have found one that can unlock all IMEI? Thx!

SIM unlock AT&T XT1045
eBay vendors are reporting they can't find unlock code for AT&T XT1045. Doe anyone know reliable place for unlock code?
TIA
Sorry, I appreciate this is a really old thread, but I wanted to share my experience of trying to SIM unlock a Moto G 4G locked to Tesco. I unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone to use TB and AdAway. I tried to get a SIM unlock code from various vendors on eBay but all gave refunds as they couldn't find an unlock code.
I paid £10 to Tesco but they couldn't get a code and said they passed it on to Motorola. I heard nothing so went direct to Motorola Support. They confirmed my IMEI was correct but said they did not have an unlock code, a subsidy code they called it. They were polite but constantly said they had no code. I pressed them and eventually they told me they couldn't help as I had rooted my phone and they couldn't access my SIM unlock code. I said I had applied to unlock the bootloader and asked had my phone told them what I had done to it? Did they not have records of each code for each IMEI? They ignored that and repeated they didn't have a code for me.
Now, call me cynical, but I suggest Motorola are refusing to help or deleted the SIM unlock code when I applied to unlock my bootloader, as to my understanding the two are not linked on the phone and unlocking the bootloader has no effect on the SIM lock. I have passed the matter back to Tesco but am not going to hold my breath.
My advice would be to look at SIM unlocking your Moto G first before anything else, then unlock the bootloader after that.
hey.
just a quick message for anyone else that runs into this issue. i also had problems unlocking my moto g 4g (xt1039) locked to tesco mobile. i had rooted and unlocked bootloader, and was buying unlock codes from various sellers on ebay, but each one said code not found for my imei and they refunded me.
eventually a seller messaged me saying that the regular server had rejected my imei, but that an unlock code could be obtained from 'motorola not found server' for £2.99. so i paid the cash and got the code about 1-2 days later. can't post a link as this is a new account, but seller is mnz technologies.
IMEI 355488060966817 Globe Telecoms Motorola Moto G. Thanks. Can you still unlock it?
Hello all, I just purchased a P20 Pro - CLT-L09 (C783), but I'm getting a "SIM network unlock NCK" screen when I insert my SIM card. I'm in the US, and the device was purchased via eBay from the Dominican Republic. I'm not sure if that's where it originated from as there's absolutely no branding. Even the splash screen is just Huawei.
What's the best way to get this usable on a GSM (AT&T) network? Should I try dc- unlocker or some others?

Thanks sajibcy! Looks like mine is also locked to EE - which service did you use? I'm seeing 6-8 day turn around times and $30/USD.

Hi I used unlockmyphone.io it took 3 days but it had proper working code. I wonder how in Honduras can get ee locked phone! Better make sure it is actually ee lock before u request unlock code. I think I paid around £25. Tried few cheap 10-15 quid but none of them worked.
