[Q] LG Optimus One P500 - Error Status 6 while flashing Oxygen ROM - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I upgraded from Oxygen_ics_v1.1.0 to omni-4.4.4-20101210-p5100-NIGHTLY ROM. Unfortunately battery was draining like a broken pot and wanted to switch to Oxygen ROM again.
So, rebooted into CWM Recovery v6.0.4.6 and done two things:
1. wipe data/factory reset
2. wipe cache partition
3. wipe dalvik cache
After that when tried to select the oxygen_ics_v1.1.0.zip file through install zip menu the following error msg is flashing on screen:
-- Installing: /storage/sdcard0/oxygen_ics_v1.1.0.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
E:Error in /storage/sdcard0/oxygen_ics_v1.1.0.zip
(Status 6)
Installation aborted.
Anyone Kindly help with this problem...
Thanks in advance...

[Q] I need help install cyanogenmod 6

I'm new to rooting and installing custom roms. I used unrevoked 3 to root my ego, then I created an nandroid and wipe my phone. Next, I rebooted the phone to download the free version of ROM manager from the market. I used the ROM manager to download cyanogenmod 6 (stable). After downloading the rom, I did as the screen prompted me and wipe the phone and created a backup. From here the installation process begins and end with

I haven't a clue what to do at this point.
Can someone please help?
"E: Error in /sdcard/clockwork/download/mirror.kanged.net/cm/stable/supersonic/update-cm-6.0.0-supersonic-signed.zip"
Read this link, I think it is about the same problem.
http://www.actuarialoutpost.com/actuarial_discussion_forum/showthread.php?t=195406&page=46
If I still can not post a link cause I am new, then I googled this:
mirror.kanged.net/cm/stable/supersonic/update-cm-6.0.0-supersonic-signed.zip"
I got three hits, read the first one "maybe we need and android tweeking ...."
Also check this out. I am tempted to say you downloaded the link to the actual file that you want and not the file. Here is the link to the actual file.
http://mirror.kanged.net/cm/stable/supersonic/update-cm-6.0.0-Supersonic-signed.zip
Click that link and then you download the file you need.

[Q] Need help after rooting

i rooted using exploit v 2.3.0 with superuser.apk and it worked on my epic since i see superuser. the problem i have is that when i download rom manager and install clockworkmod 2.5.1.0 from rom manager for my epic. then i proceed to backup current rom, i give it a name and then reboots my phone to factory recovery and this is what i see:
android system recovery <2e>
samsung recovery utils
-for BML-
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data cache
wipe cache partition
install from package...
finding update package
opening update package
verifying update package
E:failed to verify whole file signature
E:signature verification failed
insstallation aborted
can anyone help me backup so I can download new roms afterwards.
Clockwork didn't install bro. Try using the run last.bat, that one works when not rooted, I had issues when already rooted sometimes. You could also try selecting apply update.zip, I think flashing recovery in rom manager puts an update.zip on your sd which opens cockwork recovery when applied from stock rec
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
where can I find the run.bat file? I have looked in the clockworkmod folder on the sdcard, not there tho.
selecting apply update.zip also does the exact same thing

wipe data cache
wipe cache partition

[Q] Noob rooting and backing up (NAND) SG2 before ROM change

Hi all,
Would appreciate any assistance with this as I'm going back and forth on this topic on the net and hitting dead ends at every turn.
Firstly, I have a Samsung Galaxy S2. It is ROOTED (using S2root). I have installed ROM Manager and Clockworkmod. 4.0.0.15.
I was using these instructions
*URL prevented by forum* but it was on androidpolice.com website -- to get to be able to do a full NAND backup before I screw about with anything. However, I cannot. Whenever I choose to do a full backup from rom manager my phone restarts and I get
Android System Recovery (3e)
4 options not including backup or restore (i.e. reboot, install update from sd,wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition )
and at the bottom of the screen
E: Failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted
and won't go any further
I've read forum posts elsewhere on 'toggling verification on/off' but there is no option to do this in any menu, including ROM Manager's even under Advanced. I've seen other posts that show a toggle in the Clockworkmod menu but I never get there - it only restarts in Android System Recovery not Clockworkmod recovery menu.
Does anyone have any sensible suggestions that would help please?
thanks
Mark

don't format system after flashing ddlf2. directly install 10.2 over it.
procedure =
1) flash ddlf2
2) root it
3) go to recovery and directly install 10.2.
4) wipe data/reset. (optional)
(don't format anything or else it will give you that error)
hope this helps you.

i will try and tell you
but in the link of The ROM the installation instruction is :
1. Flash CWM Compatible Kernel (CF ROOT)
2. Reboot to Recovery.
3. Wipe Data / Factory Reset.
4. Select the ROM zip from your SD Card and flash.
5. The device will reboot and finish flashing.
6. Reboot to Recovery Again.
7. Flash Google Apps.
8. Reboot
so wipe data/factory rest is before installing the ROM zip and that what i did
flash cf root for ddlf2 first. and you posted on the wrong section.

I hope it will work for you to !

formatting the system will remove the baseband which wont allow 10.2 to install. i'd encountered the same problem 2 days back and i'd solved the way I mentioned above.. to cross check the error again (2nd time) I formatted the system after clean flash of ddlf2 and I got the same error.. just installing 10.2 directly over ddlf2 won't cause any problem.

"wiping date/factory reset " won't cause any problem. just don't format any thing.. if you want you can format SD Card for your satisfaction.. but don't format system or else that will lead to that error.
hey bro flash only cf-root or bam kernel and don't format system if the installation failed you will have to flash DDLF2 again.

you try bypass the assert check by delete those line in rom zip file, the file is updater-script in folder
"CM10.1-GalaxySL-JDQ39E-Alpha7/META-INF/com/google/android"
Code:
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "galaxysl" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "galaxysl" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "GT-I9003" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "GT-I9003" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "GT-I9003L" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "GT-I9003L");
open up the zip without unzip it, just open with winrar than edit than save.
this is a try, never try it before for our phone.

although, you have flash through, but that still weird to have error status 7.

yes
i did first Wipe Data / Factory Reset two times each one follow the other then i flashed the Rom zip
Working method (tried several times with different roms):
-flash DDLF2
-flash cfroot
-recovery mode (the green one)
-flash your rom, then you'll be bringed to the new version of cwm (the blue one)
-wipe data/factory reset
-format system
-flash the rom
Hi all:
I'm also getting this issue lately, and I use to solve it going to mounts and storage and mounting all the filesystems, then try again.
Looks like the updater script can't mount the file systems automatically or something lately and so it gives that error.
Hope this solves your issue.
BTW, I also saw it extrange that the assert of the zip you were flashing indicated captivate, our device codename for CyanogenMod is galaxysl, not captivate, make sure you're flashing the right zip. (Also, captivate is not p970 either, so you should have mistakenly downloaded the zip from somewhere else).

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
TWRP should allow for adb access, you should be able to push a different ROM zip to your device. Such as:
Code:
adb push name-of-rom.zip /sdcard/
Then there is also the fire-breather method:
> Nexus 7 > Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [GUIDE] Flashing a Factory Image with fastboot / return to stock
If you go this way, read and understand everything before continuing. Any questions about it, can go in that thread (once you have an XDA account).
Hope this helps, and good luck!
