[Completed] [Q] LG 620 realm hands free activation Splash screen - XDA Assist

Yes I have looked at all the other threads but still get the splash Hands free activation screen on a cold restart. Once I select it goes away because I have renamed the Activation.apk to Activation.bak under system/priv-app
the phione is new rooted via Kingo and I am modifing files using Root Browser
I have looked for the OmaDmClient.APK but it is nowhere to be found. Likewise no SprintDM.apk
I am new to phone programming and this issue is more a nuisance than a deal breaker but I do want it solved if anyone out there in the know can tell me which file starts up the splash screen. It seems to pop up just as the wireless signal module is started and once I click on activate it goes away because I have changed the Activate.apk file name . I read through all the other 6 threads on this but none seem to match my file so I am wondering if LG has recoded this activation screen for android 4.4 or maybe just my phone. What happens if I go in and clear the data/dalvik-cache file? Is it possible there are a few lines of code that are put there initially that prompt this action? Will this cache be rebuilt upon a reboot? Anyway maybe one of you has this figured out.
TIA

[Completed] [Q] need help restoring from a full adb backup of non-rooted phone

Hello there,
I need some info on how or if it is possible to make use of my full adb restore file or I just throw it away and restart fresh of my device.
Device is allview viper v1 (16Gb) -
NO ROOT and not interested in rooting it.
I believe I made a few versions of good back-ups including at least one good full backup including apks by using UBT (1.3.2 version if I am not mistaking).
My problem: I can't restore the phone by using any of the created ab files by using adb which drives me nuts.
It's worth to mention that in between I upgraded the phone software from 4.2 to 4.4 by using the producer's update images... I did a factory reset with 4.4 and re-installed most of the apps I had. I even copied most of the data from a file-sync backup...
Every time I try to use adb restore I get to the screen to input (now 2 passwords which basically are the same), I get the message "restore starting" and quite fast "restore finished" on the phone screen though while using the full back-up I definitely see that adb is still accessing / reading the file for longer time...
What I tried further: I used abe (android backup extractor by tweaking their .sh script) to create both standard individual .ab-s but also kitkat compatible ones (with abe pack-kk) with no luck in restoring the apps and their data.
It is quite annoying since after converting to .tar and un-tar-ing I can see that the backups seem ok and I can even see the sqlite data and xml settings for the apps but I do not know how to import those to the new OS running on the phone.
I tried this using both USB storage, picture mode, etc., input only the desktop pass and afterwards inputing both of the asked passwords.
So the question is: can I restore the data (about 32Gb including the pics and docs) or should I delete all the "working" files I created and put it on the "learn by error"?
Should I try to downgrade to 4.2. (if it is even possible..) and try the adb restore there?
Cheers and thanks in advance.
Hi there,
I'm sorry but I can't find anything relevant to your question/device.
Please post that in the forum bellow for more answers from the experts:

Good luck
Info about the device is available on the forums here - more or less related to the allview name since that's a re-branded phone - e.g. how to root it, how to flash it, how to recover from a broken state but that is not what I am interested in...
I guess it's more of an Android related question but might be a device issue too.
Nevertheless, I will take your advice and copy / paste the original post in Android Troubleshooting section.
Thanks.

[Completed] [Q] Kyocera Hydro, About crashes Settings and IMEI is null

Hi. I factory reset 4 Hydro's and when I try to go into Settings>About it crashes Settings with the message "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped." I want to sell them and obviously this would be a problem for anybody that wants to activate them. I installed an app named Device ID - IMEI Checker and that says IMEI: null. Could the problem be related? Not sure where to post this problem. Thanks.

Thanks. I'll try asking there but from extensive searching it seems the only way to fix this is to send them to Kyocera and have them wipe and re-flash the motherboard. I'm no expert but it seems like rooting and unrooting them permanently corrupts something. I also have 5 Kyocera Event's doing the exact same thing. I bricked one of the Hydro's last night so I'm down to 3 Hydro's and 5 Event's. I saved all the Hydro's system apps a while ago and just pasting them all into system/apps didn't work. So I thought deleting everything in system/apps before pasting them might work. lol Needless to say EVERYTHING crashed including ES File Explorer which was needed to paste the apps back in. Bootloop after that and into the trash it went. I earned cashback on the phones which made them almost free but I thought somebody else might be able to use them since they can now be activated on FreedomPop for $19.99 and have free service every month. It's more of a loss for somebody else that could have used them and had free service every month for a one time fee. I won't sell them like this though. I can still root them but now they're just wifi devices.

build.prop file in Verizon HTC One M8 keeps on being overwritten/can't save

First off, I've been reading all around here, and this doesn't seem like an uncommon problem.
I'm trying to edit my build.prop file to be able to unlock APN access on my Verizon phone as I need to use it for T-Mobile.
My problem is that nothing in system files that I edit, including build.prop, will stick. I have used Root Explorer Pro, buildprop editor. My phone is rooted through weaksauce 2.
Once I edit file, I save it, set chmod to 644 and restart. the build.prop isn't being editted back to the default, it's just being replaced completely-- it will be right back to the default build.prop file that was originally there, with the same create date and everything.
I've tried everything I know, and I absolutely cannot get anything to stay editted because no matter what I do, the phone will just replace my phones as soon as I boot.
My phone does not have a different ROM installed, and it is still S-ON, but I've tried to stay away from getting that far into it for something that I thought should be pretty simple to fix. Any advice?

[Completed] Deleted all my .odex files in system root folder. No Boot, No recovery.

I've already posted this in another part of the forum, but I really need to figure out whether this is a fixable issue or not so i know whether or not to get a new phone... any help would be much appreciated!
It started with me half-assed reading the below post, and then horribly executing what i thought i had read...

So (and i know, i messed up) I Deleted all of .odex files with fx root explorer in the main system root folder(stupid!)… phone now starts to boot and gets stuck on android screen and stays there.
So far no recovery options will come up (have tried all start-up button combinations)
And all attempts to connect via usb have failed.
I do have proper drivers installed (installed from lg website)
And I have tried doing a hard reset (phone resets, android recovery robot image with open access panel on chest flashes briefly, then the phone resets again, back to square 1. does not continue to loop.)
I realize i did not follow your directions precisely, and would like to know if you can help me restore my phone, or at least tell me if i have completely ruined it?
It's an LG G Stylo from cricket.
It is rooted (via kingroot)
as mentioned, last known activity before loss of file system access was me deleting ALL .odex files found in a search of system root folder using fx root explorer.
thanks in advance for any reply you or anyone else might have
