This guide will help you get Hearthstone running on your Rooted Android device!
Note: I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus, with 1 GB of RAM, Broadcom GPU, 1,2Ghz Dual Core CPU, and with the settings below, it runs with about 25-30 FPS.
Requirements:
-Rooted Android device with minimum 1GB RAM(I don't think it's possible running it with less than that, but I haven't tested) - Follow Link
-Xposed Framework - Follow Link
-App Settings - Xposed Module - Follow Link
-Latest version of GLTools - Follow Link
-Brain.exe version 2.0
GLTools is a highly experimental program! I am not taking any responsibility if it causes any problem to your device!
Xposed is also risky for use on certain devices! I am not taking any responsibility if it causes any problem to your device!
Follow the steps:
Make sure your device is rooted. You can do that, by clicking on the link from the "Requirements" section
Install Xposed Framework from the "Requirements" section. I won't go into detail, but you should already know how to use it, if not, search for a tutorial somewhere.
Install App Settings xposed module from the "Requirements" section. Also not going into detail. Go to next step after you have it activated.
Download Hearthstone: APK and OBB files
Install Hearthstone and place the 2 .obb files in
Code:
/sdcard/Android/obb/com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone
If there is no folder, create it.
Open App settings xposed module, scroll down to Hearthstone, check the box which says "xlarge res" and save it.
Hearthstone now should run just fine. Have fun!
In case you have framerate issues like I did(mine was running with 5 fps at first), follow these steps too.
I would like to add a note here. These adjustments differ from device to device, but in general, it should make the game run much smoother.
Install GLTools from the "Requirements" section and open it.
Search for Hearthstone
Check the first checkbox, which will enable the graphical modifications for the game.
Enable the following settings:
Code:
[U]Anti-aliasing[/U] - Disable (force);
[U]Force 16-bit rendering[/U] - Checked;
[U]Optimize GLSL shaders[/U] - Checked;
[U]Enable texture decompression[/U] - All;
[U]Downscale textures[/U] - 0.5x(won't really affect the appearance of the game, but it will make it run much smoother)
[U]Use FPS Counter[/U] - Onscreen(this is optional, but I enabled it so I can see how much FPS I have)
[U]Simple MapBuffer emulation[/U] - Checked;
With these settings, I got Hearthstone from 4-5 FPS up to 15-20 FPS, which is indeed great, and the best of all, now it's playable!
Have fun and have a wonderful day!

Nice! Work here on note 4

There's also this great guide on how to modify the APK in order to run it without root or Xposed! I tested and it's working on my Nexus 4 running Lollipop.

All files you need are included.
Works fine on my Note 2.

I have a question:
- Does my Tablet needs to be Rooted in order to open GLTools and lower the fr? I kind of want a smoother game on my Nexus 7 2012 but I wasn't really on the mood of rooting (will do If theres no other choice)

No way to have this running on a 512 ram android tablet ?
Would love to play this on my old kindle fire (first gen).

its says folder link not supported when downloading obb folder from mega link.

Try downloading it on your PC, then transfer all the files to your device. The Mega app still does not support(for some strange reason) mega folders. These can only be downloaded on your PC...

I have not tested it on a device with 512MB ram. The official requirements are 1GB, but if you lower the graphics with GLtools, it might work even on 512MB ram. Try it out

Yes, GLTools needs root sadly, but it is capable of "black magic"! It even allows you to run even Tegra games on your device.

Step 6.
Open App settings xposed module, scroll down to Hearthstone, check the box which says "xlarge res" and save it.
This is the thing that controls it, so you can run it on your phone.

i make all that stuff, but when he started and i try to log with my heartstone acc or press setting icon the game crash down why ?

Hello, Which android versions are supported?

Hearthstone runs pretty well on my Nexus 6. I might try GLTools to see if it makes a difference but it's probably not worth it. Curiosity though...lol

I don't know. Does your device have 1GB ram? Maybe there are some other issues. Unfortunately, without a crash log, I cannot help you.

Yeah well, the Nexus 6 is a great device itself, if it runs well without GLTools. You can try however just changing ONLY the "Downscale textures to 0.5" option. That makes visually no difference on a small screen like 6"(only on a 10" tablet), and the game should run pretty much just like on a PC.

You claim this works on any rooted Android device, even mentioning Android 5.0 specifically. But you're using Xposed framework which, as of this writing, does not run on Android 5.0+. What am I missing?

There is a modded version of Hearthstone which doesn't need the Xposed module. My tutorial is for Android versions 4.0-4.4, but GLTools with modded Hearthstone, is working on 5.0 too.
Sorry if I created some misunderstanding.

Hey Seth,
I followed your tutorial for Gltools. Problem is when I open it up after installing the .apk, and after I check the 3 boxes, it says "library building failed". It does this when I press either "install" or "install using recovery" buttons.
I have a galaxy tab 3, 10.1, kitkat 4.4.2 and rooted with TWRP.
I haven't been able to find any info on this error on any other forum. Appreciate the tutorial as well.

Hi. As far as I know, GL Tools does not support x86 processors.

can't play ARMV7 games on armv6,why?
can't play ARMV7 games on armv6 without "swap partition",Chainfire 3D, root explorer and v6 Super charger..
I have already written down a guide to convert armv7 games to armv6
Please use that
If you edit build.prop there is a risk of soft brick or multiple bootloops in your device so converting games is the safest way round

You will get a bootloop since your phone thinks it has an armv7 when you don't have the instruction set in your CPU so it won't work. Best try converting armv7 games to armv6
lol... Changing CPU Version May Result Hard Brick For Our ArmV6 Devices:screwy:
Uhmm... How about NO!?
It's a NO NO, for me
It will just Bootloop the device. I think you should just port ARMv7 games to ARMv6 (as previous posts said).
Or maybe create an app that can disguise/cloak your ARMv6 phone as an ARMv7. That should do it, my funny guess

hey..it worked but keyboard n some apps are missing.fix this bug especially keyboard n it will b a great work

but doing that wont allow armv6 apps to run on device anymore
In that case add ro.product.cpu.abi2=armeabi-v7a
after this line ro.product.cpu.abi=armeabi
That can't be working, so if I'm change it to x86 then I have x86 CPU ? Hahaha
is your method working?

[EASY MOD] Get Access to more Games straight from the PlayStore

Hello Everyone,
Since our S4s use a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, you will not be able to find games/apps that are specific to each device, such as phones that use the NVIDIA Tegra processor.
This Mod will allow you to find, buy and install games from the Play Store that normally wouldn't be available for users using a stock S4 ROM.
Also, this was not discovered by me - I just found this on some sites and thought I should share the info :silly:
Disclaimer: As always, I am not responsible for any damages this may cause to your device. Proceed at own risk.
This works by fooling the Play Store into thinking you're using a different device.
INSTRUCTIONS
Get Root Access.
. Using a program such as Root Explorer, work your way to the following folder:
Code:
[B]/system[/B]
Make sure you have Read and Write Access (do this by hitting the "Mount R/W" button at the top in Root Explorer)
Long press "build.prop" and hit "Open in Text Editor"
Locate the line where it says:
Code:
[B]ro.product.device=**********[/B]
Change whatever it says in there to 'olympus'. So you should now see:
Code:
[B]ro.product.device=olympus[/B]
Reboot phone.
You should now be able to view and download Tegra apps from the Play Store.
Remember to hit Thanks if I helped you out in anyway Cheers!
Note: Since these games are developed for Tegra devices, they may be a tad bit glitchy. However, I've tried a few games out and they seem to work perfectly fine!
UPDATE: Even though changing the build.prop will give you access to more games, Tegra Exclusive games still don't seem to be working. If I find anymore information, I will update this thread.
More build.prop devices you can use
Motorola Atrix:
Code:
[B]ro.product.device=olympus[/B]
AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3:
Code:
[B]ro.product.device=d2att[/B]
Nexus 7 Tablet:
Code:
[B]ro.product.device=grouper[/B]
Asus Transformer Pad:
Code:
[B]ro.product.device=tf300t[/B]
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1:
Code:
[B]ro.product.device=GT-P7500[/B]
Samsung Galaxy Nexus:
Code:
[B]ro.product.device=maguro[/B]
Asus Transformer Prime (TF201):
Code:

Maybe when you changed it it got the permissions wrong.

Modified the Underwater Apps
Is there anyone able to modify the Underwater Apps to read C6503(Z2) model rather than edit build.prop?
I don't wanna root my Z2.
Goldie, rainyoke and photolab aren't working please do something about it. Goldie stuck at downloading resources, photolab freezes and rainyoke also gives downloading resource error.

It's really easy to patch the apk to run on any device .
I've patched the goldfish but it fails at the resource download ->force close.
I've patched the submarine and it works fine.
so we need the resources from an original Z1s owner or from the US.

yeah bro iv'e been lookin for a z1s us owner to copy me the apk files from his data/app but iv'e got no luck .still searching tho.
We have the apks. We need the extra downloaded resources. I think these are in tge sdcard\android\obb or somewhere there.
But only some of these apks need to download extra resources.
For example goldfish wants to download but submarine has all the resources.
Thats why i can run it on my z1 with apk patching.

[ROM][Android M/MPZ44O][UnnamedM - SDK port of Android M][for Multirom][29/05/2015]

Yes, I know this is in the wrong section - I didn't have 10 posts when I created this thread. Please move this to the developer section if possible.
This is a port of the Android M developer preview from the emulator SDK image to the Nexus 7 (2012).
This ROM is pretty useless. Wi-Fi doesn't work, it's insecure, and there's no point in running it unless you really want to play with some of the new features of Android M. You have been warned.
Currently, this is only tested with the Nexus 7 Wi-Fi (grouper) as a secondary ROM in MultiROM with the main partition formatted as ext4: other configurations probably won't work.
Since this is based on the emulator image from the SDK, no Gapps are included.
What doesn't work:
Wi-Fi - Unfortunately, the SDK image did not include wpa_supplicant, which is required for Wi-Fi. I tried copying it from 5.1.1, but the 5.1.1 version is compiled against OpenSSL, while Android M uses BoringSSL instead. If anyone has a solution for this, I'll really appreciate it!
Bluetooth
NFC
GPS (again, /system/bin/glgps uses OpenSSL, not BoringSSL)
Screenshot function over adb
SELinux - this port runs in permissive mode; it will not run in enforcing mode as I have not adjusted the SELinux policies
Security - this is a port from an emulator image, which is signed with test-keys; thus, a malicious application can impersonate system apps. In addition, the image is rooted, but does not have a superuser management app - all superuser requests are allowed. Please don't use this ROM if you're going to store important data on it.
adb on Ubuntu - if you're getting a "Permission denied" error while trying to use ADB with this ROM on Ubuntu, make sure to tap "USB for charging" in the notification tray and select "Transfer files". ADB will start working.
(Probably more.)
Kernel
The bundled kernel is "Kernel w/ kexec-hardboot patch (Stock 5.1 and 5.1.1)" from MultiROM, which can be found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011403
Installation
The recommended way to install this ROM is through the MultiROM custom recovery.
First, install MultiROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011403
Then, boot into recovery, and select Advanced -> MultiROM -> Add ROM
Choose the ROM, and then swipe to install.

Thanks. I was interested to test multiwindow mode and it works! Just needed to enable it in Developer settings.
how to port from sdk ?
any tutorial?
Possible to do the same with Nexus 4?
If there's no WPA_supplicant in the Emulator image, why arent you using the ones from N5/etc. Images?
Awesome!!! :d :d :d :d :d
Thanks?

I believe if anyone is running Linux at the minute, they could compile this into the zip (\rom\system.tar.gz\etc\) and change the boot image for WiFi to work (likelihood is it wont, this is a cheap fix at its best). Please notify me of any progress.
EDIT: If anyone would care to elaborate how I could participate in making WiFi work, I would gladly be able to help, but please, give a thorough explanation

how to port sdk emulator v7 system image to any other device

how to compress my system folder into system.tar.gz

Hi first I was glad to install this Android M preview. But Wifi and bluetooth not working is a big annoyance, since I can't use Internet on the phone, even by bluetooth tethering.
Btw, I tried to install .APK files and the "App permission" feature doesn't seem to work. It installed the apps with all permissions, and never asked to approve any permission on app use.
Are you sure this is Android M? Only thing which tells this is Android M is the About screen and the Android M logo.

Did you watch Google I/O? This preview has multi-windows support.
Also, the settings reference Android M.
And last, if Bluetooth and WiFi not working is and issue, then I must assume you are using this as the main ROM, not Dual/Multi booted, completely ignoring the broken features list: we know it isn't working, and saying it isn't doesn't help development.
Apk permissions might not work as this has to be AOSP due to liscencing issues, and I'm sure that relies on Google Play Services (correct me otherwise).
Just a heads-up to any future posters: Don't install this of you are going yo use it add your Internal ROM - bugs are present and features are missing.
Can anyone who flashed this ROM kindly upload the SystemUi.apk file from system/priv-app? Thanks a lot, I need some files from it

What exactly do you need it for? Aside, can't you grab it from the official developer previews? I'm just curious, that's all, as I don't see why you don't just extract it from the actual ROM? I'd post it, but I'm not in office right now.

I need some pngs for another project, and I'd extract it myself but in Lollipop, ROMs have that stupid system.new.whatever it is so I can't take a file from the ROM file, I'd have to flash it, extract the file I need and then delete it, so it's kind of a waste of time.
EDIT: I just saw that the system is a tar.gz so I managed to extract what I needed from the ROM zip, ignore my previous request
Have you updated the ramdisk?
Can you do this for the Nexus 7 2013?

[BACKPORT][6.0.1+] Pixel Launcher ODR-4023749 from Android 8.0 DP3

Pixel Launcher ODR-4023749 Backport for Android 6.0.1+

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know I'm boring and I keep posting the same thing over and over after each Developer Preview from Android O 8.0 releases... But I needed to do this backport for my SHIELD Tablet anyways, so I really don't mind sharing it here. Find this irrelevant and repetitive, feel free to close the thread.
So... Yet another time, the title says it all.
This is a quick (I spent 3 hours on it) backport of the Pixel Launcher ODR-4023749, extracted from the Android O (8.0) Developer Preview 3. I extracted the APK from the sailfish (Google Pixel) and tested it on my SHIELD Tablet, and as it wasn't working I modded it so that it'd work just fine on any Android 6.0.1+ devices.
I have implemented the Google's signature verification patch, as according to this thread so that the application doesn't Force Close on launch, as well as all the goodies from the Pixel Launcher O-3952143 v2 backport.
I've tested the application in my SHIELD Tablet running official LineageOS 13.0 nightlies, as well as in my Wileyfox Swift 2 with Android 7.1.1, and seems to be working like a charm with latest Google Play Services installed.
However, like last time I'd like to roll call all of you to please, test it and report back with any issue you find.

Isn't working the option to long press an icon to show up shortcuts? For example Google Maps > Go Home, etc... It does depend on the launcher? I've Android 7.0 / LG G5 SE

One more thing, is it possible to change the number of icons displayed in a row? I've a 5.3'' and the other launchers give me much more space on the home screen. This one have only space for 4 icons in a row

Actually, I've seen quite few new things specifically for Android O in the code (making calls to the method isAtLeastO), but nothing as big as the ones in DP2.

You need Android 7.1+ for the DeepShortcuts functionality, it's limited by the APIs.

It's possible to hardcode it but you can also try to modify your screen density (either from the Settings since you're on Android N), or using any other app to change the DPIs system-wide but that'd require root.

No, since they used their own, proprietary implementation. Maybe once Google releases the source code of Android 8.0 someone tries to work on that, but for now I don't see the point in it.
(What I mean is that, if it was as easy as flicking a switch, I'd have already done that, but it's more complex, and requires some Android 7.1 APIs, so that's why)
@linuxct tnx for flashble zip
Tnx for your hard work

I am on Android beta, running 8.0.0(Nexus 6P) , but I cannot load the applicable Pixel launcher.
I get an error each time.
I was running an older version, but removed it, and still the new one will not load.
Any help would be appreciated.

This mod is intended for users running on older versions of Android, and some functionalities may not work properly in Android 8.0 because of the backport itself... in your case, you can get the official app from APKmirror.
