[Q] Sim card problem - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
Weird problem occured today.
I flash new roms almost weekly and just yesterday I installed Elix-R and when it booted it asked me to insert my sim card.
I cleaned the sim and rebooted, nothing helped. Reflash din't help either. I completely wiped my phone and installed stock images from google.
No problems, detected my sim. Now I wanted to try out XtraSmooth, Again after boot it asked me to insert my sim ?
All radio's etc are stock from google.
Any one idea's ? Do I have to order a new sim ?
*Edit*
It seems to have happend after messing with a rom that had busy box. Do any of these configuration stay even after completely wiping the phone ?

unreadable sim card

as i allready saw there are bunch of questions regarding ureadable sim cards and not much of them have an answer. please dont post and say to take my phone to the store and ask about warranity because i just installed custom rom and by that it lost it warranity. the problem is that the phone showed sim card for the first run and now it doesnt. i installed hypersensation cm7 rom and im so scared ill lose such a good phone. there are some screenshots of teh phone and it all went well on the installation.
That problem may be with ROM.. for me also it happen in i9000 while installing ICS alpha build 7 i was able to make calls. but then after flashing Beta 1 , i was not able to make calls, it was saying SIM pin locked. then came back to Stock Firmware. Problem solved then after even if i Flash Alpha 7 it was not detecting my SIM card. you may need to Flash Stock FM Once.

[Q] SIM won't work after Fera Lab ROM install.

Hi! Some months ago I installed a version of FeraLab, the installment process was fine and when I rebooted, my phone said: "There is no SIM card inserted, please insert one and reboot". (I didn't care a lot because it was the first boot with that ROM) then I noticed that the WiFi wasn't working at all. Rebooted and the same SIM and Wifi problem were present.
I returned to read the post of the FeraLab ROM and the version I installed was removed with a note of the developers saying that it contained some bugs so they deleted that version and were working on an update. Below I found a .zip file which I installed via xRecovery and after reboot it solved the WiFi problem. But the SIM problem persisted. Then I thought it will be solved by installing the stock ROM but it didn't solved anything. I tried with lots of ROMS but the results were the same. I never tried to unlock my bootloader nor install any custom kernel. The only thing I found is that my phone can recognize mobile networks but it won't let me connect to any of them saying that my SIM don't support that network.
The problem isn't exclusive of me, I found that many other people had the same problem after installing ROMs. It would be a blast if anyone could help me!

[Q] CM10.0 damaged SD card

Hello,
I am very new to all of this and any help would be appreciated. I just rooted and unlocked the bootloader on my verizon galaxy s3 for the first time without any issues (its my second android phone, but my first time rooting). for my first custom ROM i downloaded and flashed CM10.0.0-d2vzw and did everything through ROM mananger. everything went through cleanly, but since it finished i have had a message in my drawer that says the SD card is damaged and that i should try to reformat it. i have the card backed up on my desktop, so if i need to do that its okay, but i was wondering if this is something that happens when you flash new ROMs and if there is something i should have done differently through the process to avoid this and if there is anything i can do to fix it now. Thanks.

[Q] Huawei U8860 doesn't do "DLOAD" flashes and fails to recognize SIM card

Hello all.
I would like to ask this in this thread but I still have no permissions to write there. :crying:
I succesfully rooted my U8860 and installed TWRP. Also every custom ROM installation from the thread above works. Unfortunaly since I installed a custom ROM the phone doesn't recognize the SIM card anymore. It just sais "no SIM installed". I tried to fix this with setting up own APN entries but without any results.
Then I wanted to go back to Stock ICS 4.0.3, because the SIM works there. But the update process stops after approx. 30%. Also the downgrade patch hangs after 60%.
So, there I am. Read a lot of hints and tryed everything except of this: formating the partition in pink mode. I am a little afraid of making it worse with loosing the IMEI and/or MAC Address.
Would be nice if anybody has the solution for getting back to ICS or the SIM working on other ROMs.
Thank you!
Greetz,
Vijabei

Xperia Z3 SIM Problem

Hello again!
I have issue with SIM card, phone doesnt recognize the SIM card and when I insert it says NO SIM CARD/EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY (Sometime it says, "No signal" but I cant search for any network). I remeber flashing simlock.ta by accident, I've tried every single solution but none sadly worke. And no I haven't done TA backup. Is there any fix, or is my sim reader fried? Thank you guys again so much, I hope I get some good answers. Peace
I had a similar issue but my sim used to get detected. The thing was that I stopped getting network in my home or at college. It's still not fixed. I have sometimes manually find and the preferred network.
You could try flashing the stock firmware and see if it's fixed.
I'm guessing either our antenna is at fault or some software glitch while flashing custom roms.

I figured the issue, it was software related I had to reflash 6.0.1 and after flashing it open the back cover, find antenna cable remove them and then insert them back and after that boot the phone without SIM card and reflash back to 4.4 generic global and it works! In my case its the only issue to fix it. (Im not responsible for any damage you do on your phone, try this at your own risk!)
Thanks. I was try the flashing the old firmware. I had previously removed the antenna cable and put it back again but there was no change. But now as you said I'll reflash the old firmware. :good:
