How could i know my z3 is bootloader unlock or not? - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to root my z3 so bad. I was bought from amazon D6603 and using ATT very well. I am constantly check out the developer thread for the new root method but it didn't update for months.
So I decide to ask in here . anyone could answer my question ? could my z3 root safe?

1) There is no news because there is no news
2) It will be unlocked if you unlocked it
3) Dial *#*#7378423#*#* goto service info and configuration. The last line will tell you if you can unlock it or not.
You currently cannot root without unlocking the bootloader.

[Q] Unlocking carrier restrictions on Xperia M2

Hello! sorry for creating a new thread but here it goes.
I bought a M2 xperia and when I reached home I saw that it was carrier locked.
I tried to unlock the boot loader in order to root it but it was a no go.
Eventually I downgraded the firmware to 4.3, rooted it with towelroot and then upgrade it to 4.4 again, the root was still there.
Now my question is, is there any way I could unlock the sim restrictions using my root privileges?
I kinda don't want to pay 30$ for a imei code.
My m2 it's O2 locked, if it has any relevance...
Thank you

[Q] Bootloader unlock impossible?

Hi guys, my new Z3 has just arrived today and I am looking to remove the bloat. I went to the Sony site to unlock my bootloader but aparently it cannot be unlocked (using service menu to check). I am new to Sony products, does this mean I will never be able to unlock my bootloader? Is this caused by a hardware difference?
Thanks

Plenty about this on the forums already.
If service menu says "bootloader unlock allowed: no"
You can't do anything.

[Q] Any way to Unlock Bootloader for Sony Xperia Ion (LT28at)?

Hi,
I recently got a Sony xperia Ion from a friend (her contract with it on At&t expired and she has a new phone now) so I wanted to activate it on a different Carrier. I think I got that figured out, since I went through att and they gave me an unlock code so when my new SIM comes in, I should be able to unlock the phone. However, I want to unlock the bootloader, root, and install custom ROMs such as Cyanogenmod 11. (Heard there was an unofficial release for this phone). I went through Sony's website for unlocking the bootloader and it had me check to see if unlocking it was allowed (Through the service Menu > Service Info > Configuration > Rooting Status) and it was not. :crying: It says "Bootloader unlock allowed: No".
Now I heard somewhere that if you are able to unlock the SIM, then that "No" would change to a "Yes" and you could then go through Sony's official process of unlocking the bootloader. Can anyone attest to this? It sounds kind of strange, so I wasn't sure. Does anyone know if there is any way at all that I can Root and Unlock the Bootloader of this phone?
Thanks a bunch.
Here's some info:
Model number: LT28at
Build Number: 6.1.C.1.105
P.S. It says there is a system update available to .111, but It says it requires a PC companion and It doesn't really say how to proceed with the update and I'm not sure if it would mess anything up as far as rooting and unlocking goes.

[Q] Xperia M2 Version Number

Ive found on few sites that my Sony Xperia M2 D2303 with Kitkat should be 18.3.C.0.37 but mine software version is 18.3.1.C.0.21.
Why is it like this? Is there something wrong with my device, is it fully updated to last software version or not?
Also ive checked bootloader unlock status and it says Not allowed.
In the official Sony site ive seen a text that says: "Important note! In order to unlock your Xperia™ M2 you need to be on software version 18.3.C.0.37." - which is different then mine.
I also checked for any updates but there is nonne showing in my sony app.
How can i solve this?
Thanks in advance.

Different terms, different topics.
Let's see, .21 build version number means 4.4.4 KitKat (most updated version of KitKat).
If the unlock allowed device says No, it means you have the SIM Locked, so, you need to contact your carrier provider in order to unlock it and change the status to "yes", so, you could unlock your bootloader without any troubles in the process
Official Sony says you need to be in 4.4.2 or higher build number version, it's not stated you need to be in .37 build number.
Note: 4.4.2 (is precisely .37 build number, but, still .21 or higher works fine with the unlocking).
Regards!
i know its a bit turn off the topic, but while im still here let me ask - Does anyone know is Lolipop gonna come out for M2 or not?
There have been many different statements about this so id like to know once for all, is it or not?

No. It ain't confirmed yet. In some point might show up for our device. But right now there's no confirmation. Just OmniROM, CyanogenMod 12 and FXP AOSP.
If your bootloader unlock allowed says no. Then there is nothing you can do to unlock it. Not even network unlocking your phone will change that. To get bootloader unlock allowed yes buy sim free unlocked device. Most carriers lock down bootloaders hope this answers your questions

And is there a way to root my device without unlocking bootloader?

Under what assumptions you say that? Topics before some guy said that he unlocked its device changing the status of its SIMLock with some code to unlock it. The carrier locks down your phone via SIM, but it doesn't mean you can't unlock it forever. If you "free" it, the problem must be solved. The guy I'm talkin' about, unlock two devices using the same method I'm sayin' here, and the two of them went fine. So, just try. The carrier shouldn't show any troubles in order to disable the SIMLock, it's your right, in fact.

Xperia Z3 D6616 SIM unlock or Custom firmware

hi
i am having my Xperia Z3 D6616 idle for more than 5 months, meaning? its not sim unlocked. actually unable to unlock it. i did not know that t-mob disabled the SIM unlock code pop up in their phones.
i am not in US right now so unable to unlock the phone as i bought from ebay as new. totally fed up with this situation.
i am tried all over the forum and waited log time to get the root, i felt it will be unlocked after then. but unfortunately rooting did not shed any light on unlocking possibility.
so far
1. D6616 cannot be Sim unlocked without Tmob support
2. No custom firmwares.
3. will not boot if international Firmware flashed via flashtool. or flashing pre rooted zips.
4. its known that it the boot loader cannot be unlocked.
i am looking for D6603 firmware ported to D6616 so that we can flash into recovery and get the sim unlock code Pop up to Enter the unlock code.
or anyway how to port the simunlock app from international D6603 FW to make it work on D6616.
I saw and tried HTC one M9 T mob sim unlocking method and it worked on HTC one M9. (the link is below) is it possible can we follow the same method to unlock the D6616 also.
looks like T-Mob disable sim unlock pop up in their phone to restrict the user to unlock as they wish.
link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/general/sim-unlock-method-t3143333
i request some developer help how to get this done. i believe they are so generous and helpful. at least some guides on how to make it.

I'm facing the same problem, all servers are down indefinitely. One guy also found if your phone never were used or registered in T-mobile network, can't be registered as elegible to unlock, this is my worst problem, I'm outside of USA with brand new expensive phone . If some one found any other solution to unlock, I'll appreciate the information
Unlock service is up.
Now we can unlock xperia Z3 with t mobile app,
The service is up. I bought the unlock service from cellphoneunlock.net
This service cost 50$, but this is the only option for D6616. Time will 3-6 days. I unlocked two of my D6616 after years

not that I believe in pay for those type of services. but I have a z3v and am in a similar position. I was wondering if you could check if your bootloader unlockable status has changed from no to yes or how can u flash stock z3 firmware with only a sim unlock.

This has nothing to do with the bootloader, it is for unlocking the sim only. The z3v is alread SIM unlocked, but, like the T-Mobile d6616, the bootloader is locked and likely to stay that way.
