[Q] Poor reception Any fix ? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Am facing the worst problem, poor reception way too poor i have tried almost all the modems but no success before oneplus one i had samsung galaxy s4 never had any issue regarding signals but with this phone all the time. please is there any fix for it ?

I have one of the first batch of the OPO and have always found the signal to be a bit weak. I was using the Find 7 modem for a while and found that it did help to improve reception, however using the find 7 modem with 44s will cause random reboots with varying degrees of severity.

Signal

My brother has been offered a sensation XE as an upgrade. I told him that the senseation phones experienced big signal fluctuation that made me sell mine and replace with the galaxy s2.
Did this ever get resolved or is the signal issues still a problem?

Hi,
Signal is largely dependent on the radio/ril combination you have on your phone, and your location.
If you are experiencing difficulties, post your problems on THIS THREAD
If you're talking about stock phones, yes it is still a problem depending on network coverage in your area. For example, I'm in a rural setting and I use O2, I can be in my front room and see 3 signal bars, then moments later I may lose the signal completely. I know that the signal will likely reconnect, but it is rather annoying not being sure if you do have a signal. My son's GSII doesn't have this issue.
If you're in a location with a strong signal, you're unlikely to experience this problem.
Cheers guys I'll let him know.

[Q] MB865 (Atrix 2) Hardware Question/Help Needed

My MB865 (Atrix 2) started losing signal and restarting. When it does re-acquire a signal, it is always a strong signal (5 bars ~ -65-dB). The problem has been getting worse and it is getting more difficult to acquire/retain a signal. Often the phone will spontaneously re-start as well. The re-starting seems to happen more frequently when I am charging the phone or do not have a signal.
My son has the exact same phone with the exact same configuration, and his is working perfectly. Side-by-side, he will have 5 bars while I'm not able to get a signal at all.
I have been told that this is likely an antenna issue, but I'm truly not sure.
Could a faulty antenna cause the re-starting issue described above? If it is a faulty antenna, is this something I could replace myself? I was unable to turn up anything useful in my search for a replacement antenna for this phone, so I'm not sure where to even get one.
Thanks in advance.
I am having nearly same issue with my atrix 2
I cant make or receive any calls/sms
The signal reception have decreased a lot.
I would like to know what you did to fix the issue

I bought a different phone.

having problem with reception in my house since upgraded from S4 to S6 EDGE

i get reception problems in my house
never had those
it started the second i changed from s4 to s6
i dont know what to do
the only thing i can think of trying is to download my provider's stock rom for this device and pull the modem from there
the only one i could find is file named CEL-G925FXXU1AOD4
its 5.0.1 though and my device has the updated 5.1.1' would this modem work ?
Hello,
Return your Galaxy S6, it's useless if you want a signal. I also have the same problem coming from the Galaxy S4, I sent the S6 for repair twice and the signal is still poor. Samsung have made a horrible mistake with the antenna on the S6. it's the worst signal of any phone I've ever seen. And don't worry about 5.1.1, I have it on my G920F and the signal is still poor.
Change mobile providers. My signal is generally full on my S6 indoors and outdoors. In the basement at work right now I have Full bars, -95dbm, 10asu. No different than on S4 or HTC One M9.
How is changing mobile provider going to help an issue caused by the phone? We both notice worse signal with our S6s compared to other phones, on the same network. So Samsung probably has a huge batch with useless antennas.

Problems with reception

Hello.
Bought this OPO recently second hand. It sadly had an issue with connectivity. It has really bad reception 99% of the time, no matter where you are. Below -103 dBm and is rarely usable at all.
I have noticed though, that it sometimes gets really good reception with +HSPA, but then it switches to 3G, and the reception dives to < 100 dBm (most often unusable). It does the same when roaming on the 2G-net - sometimes good reception, but most often really bad.
I have flashed different basebands, but didn't help, so I expect it to be a hardware issue. Does anybody have any idea, what it could be? I can fix most things myself, as long as I know what the issue is and where to get the spare part.
Thanks in advance!
Okay. So I haven't actually been using 4G a lot, but I got around to testing it yesterday. It seems 4G isn't affected by the problem, since it holds a 4G service really well. But as soon as it switches to 3G/+H, the reception drops dramatically.
Same problem here. I have tried many ROMs but the problem isn't solved. Now I am trying to flash .img files one by one and I will tell you how it goes a few days later.
...
Hello again,
After flashing all .img files one by one it still didn't work. The problem was that the previous owner of this phone had the IMEI changed. So I found a guy to recover its original IMEI and now it's all fine.

Reception not recovering issues

Hi all
I recently upgraded from the Galaxy S5 to a Pixel. Something I'm noticing is that the phone is not recovering very well from reception dropouts.
While commuting on the train the reception drops in and out while going through tunnels etc. The S5 would obtain reception again pretty much instantly however I find that the Pixel is taking up to 3-5 minutes to get reception again. I find that a restart of the phone will sort the issue out. Putting the phone in and out of flight mode doesnt seem to help.
The phone is running Android 7.1. Has anyone experienced this issue or know how I can go about fixing it?
Cheers
I'm on T-Mobile. I went through 3 edge 7s and one Note 7. I had the same issue as you and sometimes they wouldn't re acquire signal till I restarted the phones. What do they all have in common with the Pixel ? The snapdragon 820/821chipset and modem !
The latest Nougat beta update for the 7 edge seems to have fixed the issue though and now it re acquires signal fast.
Sent from my SM-G935T using XDA-Developers mobile app
I recently upgraded the device to 7.1.1 which seems to have made a positive impact in alleviating the issue. The Pixel is now recovering much better from reception dropouts while on the train!
