[Completed] Q: Where's the cheapest iPhone 6 unlock? - XDA Assist

Without spamming me...
I'm looking for the cheapest iPhone 6 Plus unlocking service. I need one unlocked on from ATT and another from Tmo.
Anyone know the cheapest service for those? So far I've found Tmo unlock for $60 and ATT for $15. Is there anything out there cheaper?
I ask because there are so many companies that do it, and the price varies widely. Perhaps someone has found a reliable company with cheap prices.

Hi,
You'll need to search the Web on that. Xda does not have iPhone sections. Perhaps you can find an iPhone forum and ask. ?
Good luck! Thread closed.

Does Anyone know where to purchase the samsung omnia?

I've been searching for days online and I just simply can not find anywhere online that carries the samsung omnia. I know it is not released in america yet but usually you can at least find one overseas somewhere that sells them.
Its available here in Singapore but with telco contracts
oh really, whats the price with out contracts? Does that company have a website?
i'd say yes
Yeah they definitely have it over there but the thing cost 1098 with out contract of what ever their currency is over there which can't be good in American Dollars.
SO will there be info, support, tweeks, and such for the Samsung Omnia from this community?
Dude probably not. this site only really caters to HTC phones. It's very unfortunate though cause it seem that this phone will be the phone of the year for it's type. I lost a little respect for this site after the thread requesting to open a forum for the omnia was closed.

Good places to buy SIM unlocked phones in the US?

I'm an American in Canada, but I frequently travel back to the states for friends, family, etc. As many of you know, we Americans are quite accustomed to buying subsidized handsets. There is also relatively little infrastructure--especially compared to somewhere like Europe--for buying unlocked phones from someone other than a carrier.
I'm tired of that model. I have hacked dozens and dozens of 'droids for other people, but I've had the same old BlackBerry since 2008. First I had to wait for my contract to expire, then I waited for the first seriously good crop of dual core phones. Now that the SGS2 and the Sensation are coming, I think it's time to buy unlocked. If the Nexus 3 is as good as the rumors suggest, I'll be buying another unlocked phone in the fall as well.
So, my question to you all is this:
What are some reputable sites for buying SIM unlocked phones in the US? I've heard Expansys is good. Is that true? Are there others?
Bonus:
Where do you go to find the MSRP/SEP of an unlocked phone from the mfgr? I want to know if the prices I'm seeing fall in line with what the manufacturer suggests, just like I would with a video card or a CPU.
Fleamarket or pawn shops
You can check this one:
www.geeksphone.com it's unlock and has root access (it's android)
Hope it's not against the forum rules to bump for visibility. Thanks, all.

[Q] Sprint contract workaround?

Hi all, this is my first post here. I'm relatively tech-savvy but mobile development isn't my forte. Anyway, I've tried many search strings on the site but I haven't found a directly relevant answer.
Essentially the issue is I have a grandfathered service plan from approximately 2004 where I'm getting data for $5/month. I was using a lame HTC Touch Pro until it shattered. Unfortunately, to purchase a new smartphone (figuratively anything that isn't a flip phone), I would need to enter into a new contract on their exponentially more expensive terms. Additionally, I'm going to get nailed with all kinds of new bull**** fees (a 4G fee when it has barely been developed in NYC). Obviously I'm hoping for a more cost-effective approach.
Furthermore, I saw someone briefly mention in another thread that the OP could just buy a phone outright. I'm wondering if purchasing a phone unlocked and then somehow activating it on Sprint's network or some other hack would be possible. Price is a significant constraint; it's not feasible for me to drop $750 on an unlocked smartphone, so it's preferable if I can find some kind of workaround that's subsidized.
Thanks for reading through this, hope you can lend some advice on the optimal solution.
Sprint won't accept unlocked phones. I don't think there is a such thing as a unlocked cdma phone.

Sprint/Virgin flash/clone curiousity

I hope that this isn't against the rules or in the wrong section but I have questions regarding my topic.
I'm a student so I don't have a ton of money. I've been without a phone for a few months now but I am really looking to get service again if its not too expensive. Currently it seems like VM offers the best deal with $35 a month for unlimited data/sms however they do that buy getting one to buy a new phone. $35 seems do-able for me but adding $300 is a bit too much for me.
I used to have a nexus s 4g when I was on sprint and I also have access to a sprint galaxy s2. Is there any way I can get either to work on Virgin?
Thanks a bunch

If you have the galaxy S2, then yes you could use it on VM. You would probably have to make sure that it is unlocked. To get it unlocked you can pay someone or look up a website that offers the service because carriers tend to lock the device specifically for the carrier. Either way you shouldn't pay more that 50$ to unlock it and move your S2 over to VM.
thanks; unlocking it shouldn't be an issue so I'll see how things turn out.
I hope VM is down with it on their end though

[Q] How much would you ask for your nexus?

First off I'm not trying to advertise but I'm going to sell my two black 16gb devices.
So out of curiosity what would you ask for or
What would you pay for one? Something fair obviously under googles price tag.
Assuming they are mint condition lol
Just check your local classifieds and see what they are selling for. And decide from there. Low to sell fast, high if you're in no rush.
That's definitely the best way to sell anything.
Sent from my N5, N7, Moto X, G Tab 3 or S2.....
Eh. I'd say $330 for a used one in mint condition with no accessories.

Take a look and summary on eBay...
Once again as a disclaimer, as I do not want to break forum rules. This is not meant to be advertising
Thanks for the quick replies
I have mine listed as $200 mint with sg ballistic case.
There's no local listings for nexus 5 phones and any
People that have messages me have acted like I'm asking too much?
I think that's fair considering google lists the phone new at $350
Do you guys think I'm asking a fair price based on your locale?

More than fair. It's actually too low if in mint condition. I don't think anyone's selling them that cheap.
I can only imagine they see a low price and are trying to drive you down even further.

Search eBay for completed listings so you can see what they're selling for. Also search for what the used case is selling for too. But being that it's yours, ultimately it is your decision as to what you want for it. I think $200 in mint condition + case is more than a fair asking price.

I would list it for $270
Remember that the website will charge you around
$15 between ebay and PP for total listing + post sale charges.
The fact that Google subsidies its cost, doesn't mean that we have to do the same thing again
They wont get a similar phone for that low.
I would see what they are going for on Swappa.Com (list it, it is free and their fee of $10 is added to what you ask), ask for more than that on Craigslist, and Ebay will get you more, but have higher fees.

This. Swappa is a great resource to see what phones are selling for.
I use Swappa for almost all of my tech buys and sells. It is free to list and $10 for a sell (paid for by the buyer, so if you list for $200, the buyer sees the price as $210). So you just pay shipping (and technically $10 since you lost out on buyer's $10 to Swappa). eBay takes like 10% + shipping. I always forget this until I get my eBay invoice and realize I took huge losses when I thought I broke even. I sell a $300 tablet, I end up with like $245 after eBay fees, shipping, and PayPal fees. Craigslist is good if you're in a city, but it is terrible for rural areas. Sometimes I find good deals on there, but when I'm selling, no one wants to pay me asking price.
Thanks fellas. The phones are mint.
And you were spot on when you said people kept asking for a cheaper price.
But to be honest I just sold them for what I owed to t-mobile, as I just wanted out of their
Financing because I has a bad experience on their network lol.
But they just finally sold about an hour ago. He called himself a "phone geek" so I'm sure he knew what a deal it was!!

I would suggest you to go through the online selling rates on E bay or Amazon , do a research on the maximum selling price. You would get to know the current rates I am very sure. :good:

Phones were sold about 14 hours ago.
While this didn't "specifically" break any rules with regards to selling on the site, it was very, very close. Even so much as listing the price at an almost invitation for PMs about it type of nature.
Regardless, the phones are sold, Thread Closed.
