[Q] After downgraded from lolipop to GPE 4.4.4 i cant install the rom stock - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed android lollipop, after a while decide to return to the original version, but the tutorial was speaking to return to play Goggle edition, and then go to the original, but i tried to install the original but it restarts in fast boot after installing.
the version of google play edition only works one chip, I need the another chip, I tried installing with the fastboot but after installing the rom stock does not start, it goes to fast boot menu automatically.
and I can not install by the recovery menu.
--------------------------------
Finally got it! after hours installing roms, I got through a tutorial which uses this .bat (i cant post links lol), the tutorial is in the android pit (Motorola Moto G - [Tutorial] [STOCK] Reinstalling the stock firmware and installing updates [XT1032 and XT1033]) if someone happened the same thing send me a private message.

[Q] MotoG downgrade to 4.3 with Ubuntu (Linux)?

Hello,
I have an XT1032 ('falcon') MotoG, purchased from Tesco in the UK. The bootloader was unlocked very soon after I bought it and I purchased an unlock code to allow it to be used on all UK networks. It works well. I think it was supplied with Android 4.3 Jellybean, and it was updated OTA to 4.4.4 KitKat.
I'm trying to install CM11 M6 (dated 4/5/2014) on the 'phone using CWM6.0.4.7. It appears to install fine, but goes to the bootloop, with the CM face in the middle and the rotating arrow running around it - and never progresses from there. This seems to be a common problem as there are a number of threads about it on this forum. It appears that the solution is to downgrade it to 4.3 by flashing it.
Following the instructions here:
http://www.nerdoholic.com/mobiles/restore-stock-firmware-motorola-moto-g/
... the opening instruction is "Download and install Motorola drivers" - which is where the problems start as it appears that the Motorola drivers are only available for Windows and Mac users, but not for Linux users, and I only have Ubuntu machines to play with.
So, where do I go from here? How can I downgrade to 4.3 with a Linux machine? I have tried the instructions, and they don't complete (although they seem to get most of the way there.)
Alternatively, is there any other way of installing CM11 on my 'phone without downgrading? There seem to be some people around who have made it work by installing CM11 twice (which didn't work for me), by wiping the 'phone and the Dalvik Cache (which also hasn't worked) or by using a different Recovery tool ('Philz Advanced CWM Tool' is mentioned occasionally, but I haven't tried it.)
All help welcomed, thanks. (For clarity, the 'phone is an original Moto G, 16GB. It's not the Moto G2, nor is it the 4G/LTE version that was released a little later.)
Oli.
A little more information - I have backed-up the working configuration of the 'phone with CWM and can restore from it fine. This is hence allowing me to tinker with all sort of other configurations and still get back to an operational 'phone - which is great! However I would be nervous about trying anything that would jeopardise this restore capability, which is one of the reasons why I haven't progressed with Philz Advanced CWM Tool.
Oli.
Linux requires no drivers. Fastboot tutorial here:
http://lifehacker.com/the-easiest-way-to-install-androids-adb-and-fastboot-to-1586992378http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
You cannot boot into 4.3 with your 4.4.4 bootloader. I suggest you flash the Retail UK 4.4.4 firmware image available here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54872143&postcount=362
Lost101,
Thanks - I suspected that it was the case that Ubuntu needed no drivers. Will the fact that I am trying to downgrade from 4.4.4 to 4.3 explain the fact that the flash didn't complete?
If so, and I try using the Retail UK 4.4.4 image then will it subsequently allow me to install CM11 (which is my final goal)?
Thanks again for your help.
Oli.
Personally I am more inclined to suspect the ROM itself and/or your custom recovery version is the problem.
Lost101,
Thanks again. Following the instructions in your first post (above) has successfully installed 4.4.4 from the Retail UK image. It boots and (appears) to work OK. However manually rebooting into fastboot and choosing 'Recovery' has highlighted the fact that CWM seems to have been lost and SuperSU is not in the Apps List - so it really does look like a very stock build (albeit the unlocked bootloader remains unlocked, as you'd expect).
I guess I therefore gain Root Access and re-install CWM and see where we go from there. Thanks again for your help.
Oli.
You have been using an early build of CWM. I recommend Philz Touch or TWRP.

Easiest way to reinstall stock rom

Hi all as title states my moto g is downloading the new 5.0 update but during install it says error and switches phone back on with no changes made. It was rooted and custom firmware was installed. Since then uts back to fully unrooted, stock recovery is reinstalled and bootloader is still unlocked. However still it errors a quarter into installing.
So i have come to the assumption that it is best for me to revert/ reinstall the stock 4.4.4 rom back on and try updating after that. However seen loads of complicated methods on how to reinstall the stock firmware onto my phone so want the easiest way if possible.
In attatchments is the info from the current stock rom that is on the phone (will state a custom rom has never been installed to the phone always been stock) and i have downloaded the following to put onto it:
XT1032_RETAIL-GB_4.4.4_KXB21.14-L1.40_36_cid7_CFC_1FF.xml.zip
Ive tried using the mototools v3.1 and does abserlitly nothing non of the commants work or do anything with my phone.
So which is the easiest method?
Many Thanks
major problems!!!!!
Stock recovery installed to phone. Started update it was installing and got to 3/4 of the way through, errored, restarted and not goes in a loop saying no command!
Phone will not switch on!!!
Why has this happened?
If fastboot is too convoluted - using a custom recovery, flash one of these zips:

What update were you installing when it errored?

[Q] Getting nowhere trying to flash lollipop :(

Hi,
I wonder if anyone could offer me a little assistance please ? I have a UK Tesco Moto G 16GB (2013) that I have successfully unlocked the bootloader and rooted and CWM recovery installed. Currently, it's running 4.4.4 Kitkat. I gave up with the OTA update as I was getting the 'preflash validation failed' message. More recently, I have tried following the guide on here to flash the XT1032_GPE_5.1_Optimized_v1.1.zip file using CWM. However, this resulted in what I believe is termed a bootloop - i.e. the coloured dots animation just never stopped - I waited half an hour and it was still going.
I've managed to restore it back to my previous 4.4.4 for the moment, but I would like to move to Lollipop at some point - if I could !
Could someone suggest a method I could try please ?
Many thanks !
Kev.
Hi there.
Well, my device is a XT1032 Retail US but I may have been through the problems you're facing right now.
Here we go:
Go full stock (don't know if you revocer from a backup or already did this but in any case you'd know what to do: This guide helped me a lot. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219.
Do not install any official update using a custom recovery
Make sure you got the actual latest recovery version. If you went stock from the latest firmware you should have already got it.
If you have your OTA, Install it manually from the stock recovery
This method should work. It is the one I followed.
I got two errors: 1st was because was using custom recovery.
2nd was because my rom was stock but had deleted system apps, so the install failed always at some point.
Once I flashed the latest stock firmware including the stock recovery, I was able to install my OTA update.
Let me know if this works.

[Q] Atrix 2 soft bricked and sbf/fxz stock files not available anywhere on the net

[CLOSED]
Files available here: WARNING! ATT firmware. (Worked perfectly on my India variant phone)
http://motofirmware.center/files/file/138-inlineflashing_edison_6721125_cfc_p3_apbpxmlzip/
I have Asia retail version of MB865 (India).
I had previously updated to official ics OTA 4.0.4 given by Motorola. (rooted)
After that, I flashed LiquidSmooth kk for edison (4.4.4) and installed BMM 0.3.4
When tried flashing pa gapps modular pico (<50mb package) it gave error and gapps couldn't be flashed. Then I re-installed BMM thinking some fault with it and after that Atrix 2 got soft bricked. It returned to stock recovery when I tried installing BMM earlier.
Current scenario:
-gapps not installing (pa minimal pico gapps modular) -cleared data and cache and reflashed. Still not working
Tried booting anyway and now after moto logo blank screen appears and again moto logo, again blank.
Soft brick
But there is no custom recovery img file available for atrix2
And stock recovery can not flash custom ROM .zip
No adb in Moto stock recovery
Now only option is to return to stock but Anywhere on the internet, on sbf.droid-developers.com/edison or any other dl database, I simply can't find the stock sbf/fxz/fastboot .img files for ICS/GB none of them. Now I am helpless because of unavailability of files. What should be done?

Firmware files by region thread. Links posted here redirect to the droid-dev website and return this error message:
Forbidden.
You're not authorized to view this content.
If you are the system administrator of this resource then you should check the error log for details.
Same is case with all others threads/tutorial videos desc./anywhere else. No other hosting sites.
Otherwise is there any method to flash zip via stock recovery with some modification?
Also fastboot is working..
Can anybody provide link or temporarily host ICS stock files on Google drive/dropbox account I will be very thankful for that.

I had the same problem a week ago. Searching for 6.7.2_EDEM-18-SEARET_cfc.xml.zip got me absolutely nothing. Eventually, I found the middle-east variant of the firmware and it works perfectly.

Trouble installing custom ROM on stock AT&T LG G2

I am having a problem installing customs ROM on stock LG G2. My phone was bricked so I reverted to stock AT&G firmware using LG flash tool (Android version - 4.4.2, Kernel version - 3.4.0).
I then perform the following steps:
(1) Enable developer mode with USB debugging
(2) Use Kingo Root to root phone
(3) Install TWRP using AutoRec
(4) Update TWRP to latest version (3.2.1)
This is where the problems start. I get the same result when I try installing crDroid 7.1.2 or Resurrection Remix 5.7.4 custom ROMs.
The installation of the custom ROM (and gapps) succeeds in TWRP and then I reboot the system. However, the reboot always results in the "LG" logo showing for 1/2 seconds and then a constant black screen.
I am able to recover the phone from this by putting it into firmware update and then using LG Flash tool however I would still like to successfully install and use the custom ROMs. Not sure why this is happening (I am sure it might have been treated with in the forums however I cant find anything). Any help would be appreciated here as I really do not want to be stuck on stock AT&T firmware.

Update: It seems as if older ROMs can be installed with no issues. I got a copy of Cyanogen 12 and it installed perfectly and works fine. However, trying to install new ROMs still give issues. Don't know if I am missing something here and/or someone had a similar previous experience.
