Hi all,
I know flash isn't supported by newer android devices anymore but I am running a Toshiba Thrive AT100 that has ICS and the latest adobe flash.
If I am on redditisfun app or firefox or the built in browser and get to a flash video only half of it will show.
I was wondering if anyone knows a fix for this issue My device is rooted. idk if that helps.
I had a JB custom rom before this... It was slower but did not have this issue.

Hi,
I can't find anything relevant on XDA for your device and issue. I will leave this to you to decide, but you can post your question here in your device section,
> Legacy & Low Activity Devices > Toshiba Thrive > Thrive General
But that section is very quiet, you could have better luck asking here,
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Also, try other browsers perhaps. I've always found Dolphin the best at handling Flash. Also, you could search Google on other flash versions perhaps to try.
Good luck!
Yes my device is old and there is actually another forum that is recommed for it but still dead... I still use it alot and its my first tablet. I think i had the same issue on my htc g2 and i fixed it by dow grading flash to and older version. Ill try that tomorrow and oistthe results. I have tried a few different browsers with no vale. Dolphen is really good. I was hoping for a modified flash apk or something lol.
Perhaps there's other options, so asking in the threads I suggested might be a good idea. ?

Awesome, Yes I'll try that now... Thanks for the help. Downgrading versions didn't help.
Thanks! Thread closed.

Hi all,
You may need to bare with me a little with all of this, I'm extremely new to it all.
I picked up my Nexus S on Monday after previously owning an iPhone and then a Windows Phone 7 handset, firstly I have to say that I can't believe I didn't get an Android phone sooner - they're leaps and bounds ahead of the competition in my opinion and offer a much better!
With the help of a set of instructions I was able to unlock the bootloader and flash the recovery to use Clockwork 3.0.0.5, from there I was able to install Superuser from the ZIP to root the device.
Everything is working and rooted but whenever I try and get into the Clockwork recovery it keeps chucking me into the standard recovery, I've tried from the bootloader and from ROM manager.
The problem I have is that I can't backup my ROM because it just takes me to the standard recovery and sits there.
I had a look around but couldn't find anything relating to this on the forum.
There was mention of something called 'sgs kernel flasher' but it states it wont run on Gingerbread which I'm running.
Any ideas?
If you have any questions of something I may have missed out I can answer those!
Sosmething very similar to me recently. I just reflashed the clockwork recovery via adb/fastboot and works like a champ now.
Sent from my Nexus S

Thanks for the help guys, as I said I'm quite new to all this so sadly the thread title:
"Q about cwm 3.0+ and 2.3.2"
Didn't quite stick out to me!
Problem sorted now though, all backed up and new ROM installed - happy days!
I'm getting an error when I try and ugprade my Android version. I'll start with the history and spec first:
Google Nexus One, bought in April 2010, it had Eclair (2.1) on it. I wanted Froyo 2.2 (for the hotspot/tethering) but the update delays being what they were I ended up rooting it, getting clockworkmod, and installing CyanogenMod 6 (based on 2.2). It's been the same ever since and I've been happy with it. It's only because a month or two ago it stopped being able to update any of the apps that I'm even wanting to upgrade, otherwise I'd be happy with CM6. I can no longer update or even search for apps. If I can't go back to plain Android because I've gone CyanogenMod, that's fine, I'll just go for a newer version of it.
I'm not wanting to live on the bleeding edge with ICS4 on this old-timer (yes I've heard it runs but with bugs), so if I can, I'll go for a plain vanilla Gingerbread 2.3.3.
I downloaded 2.3.3 from here and renamed it update.zip and put it in the root of my SD card. I shut the phone down and then followed the instructions I found here.
It seemed like it would be easy, but I'm getting this error after choosing "Apply sdcard: update.zip". After the error I show two screenshots of how I got to that point.

For anyone with the same issue, you could have posted the solution here.Dont promote other sites.
I think the problem was with the file.
Sometimes the browsers get bugged and they dont download the whole package.
I have had this error a couple of times and re-downloading the rom fixed the solution.
Hi there
FIRST OFF I REALLY DONT KNOW WHERE I SHOULD HAVE POSTED THIS, SO BARE WITH ME

So yesterday I installed CM11 through the CM installer, and everything went fine. I then discovered how tough it was to import my facebook friends phonenumbers into my People app(contacts). I did som research and found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2064859 , I followed the guide, but it wouldnt work, so i moved my backup of the Contactprovider.apk into the system/priv-app and thought that would fix it. But it didnt, I think this is were i made hell brake lose, i went into the system/priv-app folder and installed the apk(contact.apk and contactprovider.apk), I then restarted my phone, and now its ****. I starts by prompting me that the process "com.android.systemui" has stopped, when pressed ok, it pormpts me with the process com.anodroid.phone has stopped and finally the porcess com.google.process.gapps has stopped. I cant press ok to the last prompt....the worst part is that I just sat the phone up with some really importat 2-way authentications, I would hate to go through a long and painless process in gaining my accounts back....
I really hope someone has a hack so that i can either fix the entire problem or just gain som access to my google authenticator. or atleast can point me in the right direction.. ?
Kind Regards
A stressed out CM noob / Terpminator

Hi there all . I'm really new to all this so i'll try to be as informative as I can. I have a proline H7516R tab that I am trying to flash. It has a RK3126 and BX_86VT_3026_v2.4 motherboard if I am not mistaken. I have downloaded 3 images but to no avail. I've been using RK batchtool 1.6 and the device is recognized with a green square but i cannot find the correct firmware. I have included a pic of the motherboard and CPU. PLease help!

Thanx for the speedy reply. I forgot to mention that on the recovery mode screen I found the Image build no. (rk312x-eng 4.4.4 ktu84q.eng.edward.20150402.153430 test-keys). Can this help in any way? What does that number refer to anyway? Sorry for the noob question but i really want to know whats going on. Thanx.

It is telling you that your chip is a ROCKCHIP processor running android version 4.4..4 .The last number is the time and date the rom was built. If you try asking here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
hopefully someone with your device will upload the firmware you need
Good Luck

Apologies for posting here but there is no forum for the LG Wine Smart (D486). Mine currently has stock 4.4.2 KitKat. Aw remember that? LG update app no longer functions correctly as it was shut down in 2020.
Is there any way to update this to 5 or preferably 6? There is an app I need that isn't compatible with Android 4.
You have to find
1. A Custom ROM suitable to phone ( specs: 1 GB RAM, 4 GB max storage )
2. If found, a Custom Recovery suitable to phone to flash the Custom ROM found
Many thanks. Sorry for the questions but if you were me, where would you look first?
Alternatively I wanted to make it clear that this phone officially shipped with Android 5.1 later in its life. I just happen to have an earlier 4.4.2 version. Where might I find the official 5.1 ROM and flash it?
Edit: I have found some options that I will try at http://lg-roms.com/lg-firmware/lg-h410/h41010d/2879
I'm not having any luck @jwoegerbauer . It turns out 4.4.2 was the latest official ROM for this phone.
Would you be able to assist a little? If you were me, where would you look first (as in URLs) to get a custom Android 6 ROM and recovery?
I'd like to update to Android 6 or higher. All the apps I want to install require Android 6+.
I'd just need to make sure it can recognise input from the LG Wine Smart D486 keypad.
