Okay so i have owned my One since update 33R, but in the following update which was 38R they removed the screen colour adjustment options, making my screen look very washed out. Over the coming weeks i kinda got used to this, but today when i placed my One next to my old Moto G and compared the colours, it was clear that the colours on the One's display are not saturated anywhere near as much as i'd like them to be.
Like most people i think the decision to remove the colour adjustment options was absolutely ridiculous, but now they're gone are there any other methods i can use to tweak the saturation levels of my screen?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
Custom kernels like AK have the ability to adjust the colour settings of the display.

Thanks for the response. At the moment i am running Boeffla kernel, but inside the Boeffla Config app i don't see any settings for colour enhancement. I also have Synapse installed but again i can't locate any settings which would adjust the saturation of the screen. Are there any other methods i could use to modify the colours with a custom kernel?

From what I can see, Boeffla doesn't have colour adjustment support. You'd need to use AK in conjunction with UKM and Synapse.

Hi,
My Nexus-S colors are bugged (browned colors (pb with red value)).
I'm looking for a list of kernels with pre-2.3.3 color drivers.
voodoo color drivers is an option but it didn't work on all luminosity values (green tint on low luminosity, or bad color at certain luminosity).
for info my voodoo colors imperfect tweak :
# Settings with no green tint, but with bad colors at low luminosity :
echo "-80" > /sys/class/misc/voodoo_color/red_v1_offset
echo "-15" > /sys/class/misc/voodoo_color/green_v1_offset
echo "0" > /sys/class/misc/voodoo_color/blue_v1_offset
# Other setting option (better colors but green tint at low luminosity):
echo "-102" > /sys/class/misc/voodoo_color/red_v1_offset
echo "-54" > /sys/class/misc/voodoo_color/green_v1_offset
echo "-52" > /sys/class/misc/voodoo_color/blue_v1_offset

List of found kernels with pre-2.3.3 colors as of now :
- Lucid Nexus : The CM7.1 version is fine, but the ics one is instable. This kernel doesn't seem to be in active developement.
- Matrix Patched : not tested for now, don't know if he is in active dev (patched version : 15, non-patched version 22).
- to be continued ...
Thanks for your help !

Your colors are that garbled?? I'd take that phone to repair if you have to set the red value this low. This is also why you're getting a green tint on low brightness settings. If your rom supports it you could also change the default lowest brightness settings so you never get to see the green tint, except when you turn the phone on for a few miliseconds.
As far as I'm aware CM9 based roms support it, cannot talk about others.
Yes my colors are that garbled (but zero pbs with pre-2.3.3 divers).
Maybe an hardware pb ? But I'm not the only one having trouble with colors.
I've got this phone for free because of the garbled colors, I can't take it to repair.
In my experience the green tint come from the green offset (less than -34 => green tint)
For me pre-2.3.3 driver is the best option : work out of the box, with no-tuning/tweaks.

The green tint is in direct correlation with the gamma to brightness ratio, not just the gamma. So pre 2.3.3 drivers without any setting and your colors are fine? Or you mean pre 2.3.3 colors with manual settings?

That is strange! :|
Stock ICS kernel is not good, yet pre 2.3.3 colors without setting anything works. Are you sure it's not just an issue with Voodoo colors?
Yes i'm sure it's not a voodoo issue, I've started with stock ics (no voodoo, no pre-2.3.3 drivers) and the colors was brownish.
Hello, I am using the Cyanogenmod 10 for my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.
Is there any way to change the gamma settings / hue settings to change the overall colour of the display as I know it's possible to do it in versions of Cyanogenmod 10 for other devices.
I love this device and mod but the colours just seem a bit washed out.
Many thanks.
i think the gamma settings are in the kernel
for p3100 how many different options for kernels are there ?
have you tried screen filter or screen adjuster ?
i dont have experience with this rom yet
Whats the best display settings or custom display settings(magisk module). The display color its way different from my friends s8+ and I don't know if his colors or mine are wrong. I am using custom color and I put it slightly from the center to cold. Does anyone know a good custom settings to flash it from twrp or magisk module?
Just set it up to your liking... No other than you have your eyes.
Modules not needed.

If you want to have the correct colors, just set it to SRGB et DCI P3 But i personally like the punch of default !
Hello all,
I am using the ElementalX kernel for the custom color control (RGB 255,0,0 at night is my life). On the OP7t however the fingerprint sensor does not work with custom colors.
I know that I can find the "is scanning fingerprint" status using tasker and would like to disable custom colors for 500ms while it scans. I can't find any way however to control ElementalX custom colors through a shell command.
Does anyone have an idea how to approach this?
Ps. I wanted to post in the development/modding board but have no post count.

Did you try changing the Display Color Mode on settings? If not, you can try this out.
From Settings, tap Display, and then tap Screen mode. Tap Vivid or Natural.
You also get a preview image for these different display modes so you can choose them according to your liking.

A22 5G has a built-in color adjustment tool that you can use to adjust the brightness, contrast, and saturation of the display. Go to Settings > Display > Advanced > Color adjustment. You can try this out if it works.
If it doesnt, there are various 3rd party apps you could use like Color Calibration and OLED Saver which could help solve your issue but I suggest trying the Color Adjustment first before getting into these 3rd Party Apps.
