[Q] ROM's and Rooting

Hi This might be a question that has been answered already or no. I've been browsing through the site and ready on ROM's and stuff. I just wanted to ask how to identify if a Custom rom is stable already and if there is a way to know without trying the rom first. I am scared of rooting my phone because I am afraid that I might brick my phone and if so is there different ways or just a standard way to do like S-off/S-On and flashing a rom.
Phone: HTC Sensation
ROM: Stock ICS Rom 4.0.3

To identify the custom rom you need to flash it yourself and then judge it .But most of the JB rom like viperS/revelation especially Sense 5 is the latest and stable one ..
Also Before rooting and flashing custom rom you need to first Unlock bootloader and then flash recovery after that rooting and flashing roms..
No need to S-OFF , you will find it difficult (Wire Trick).
A great guide can be found HERE just skip the HBoot-S-OFF part and follow other instruction ..

Sorry for having such a lot of questions. Any particular Rom you would suggest. I just use basic stuff like gmail, txtplus app, and some games. A black based design would be perfect. Thanks in advance for the suggestion.

Need help regarding Kernals/Roms and more

Hello,
I used to flash only roms before, but now after owning nexus 5, i want to try out the kernals also. For that i have a few questions .

Any other suggestions you would like to give me

Please provide your exact device name and model.
There are so many different HTC Sense devices available.
Here is a nice thread about the HTC One M8: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376.
Just as an example.

Hmm ... check this threads about Lollipop for your device: HTC One (M8) Lollipop Threads.
There are many custom Lollipop ROMs for your device, e.g. [ROM][28-1]SD v 33 |4.16.401.10|1st ANDROID 5.0+Sense Rom|SDkernel|SDHub|Best Batt..
And I found a stock rooted GPE ROM here: [ROM][5.0.1] 12/7/2014-Lollipop Stock Rooted Google Play Edition LXR22C.H5.
And here is a guide how to flash the GPE ROM: [GUIDE] [S-OFF] Update from Almost Anything to Official Developer Edition Lollipop.
Good luck !
thank for the help but do you know where i can find the official not custom flashable rom using custom recovery , i dont want any custom rom due to crashes

Thread closed. Thank you.

HTC One X

Hi guys.
I'm currently running Android revolution on my HTC One X. I want to upgrade to either a kitkat or lollipop based rom, but i understand i need a new recovery (SELinux). I have tried installing such roms as slimkat 9.0 and crDroid 5.0.2. I'm having trouble flashing CWM`s latest recovery to my phone using the fastboot option and cant seem to find a zip file of it, only the image, so using update.zip isn`t a option at the moment. If any one would take the time to help me on this it would be appriciated.
Also i have been looking into developing my own rom, again based on kitkat or lollipop. I am wondering if i`d have to base the rom on a recovery that again requires SELinux support, or if i could base it on a older recovery?
I apologise if I have posted this in the wrong place.
Again any help is greatly welcomed

[closed]Multi Recovries and Flashing

Hello All,
So I just had my Samsung SII plus (with NFC) rooted and find 2 recoveries installed CWM and TWRP, How can I safely remove CWM so I can have a smooth Flashing to a custom ROM?
I also find my self confused with acronymous used by TWRP but there is no description of it, can somebody tell me what is s2ve and s2vep, and which is better for my phone? I think the one installed is s2ve, how to exactly detrmine that?
Speaking of custom ROMs, is it better to choose Kitkat over lollipop as it's more stable ?
thanks.
