Hello
I am quite confused here due to all these versions and stuff, it would be nice if someone can clear up some of my confusion.
After searching here and there I realised that I should "convert" the dual sim XT1033 to GPE version and sacrifice on the dual sim part to install the ROMs.
I want to know if it's a reversible process? Is there a way I can make it go back to normal? (I am guessing flashing Stock firmware would do it but can someone confirm?)
Are there any ROMs I can install without making it to GPE and get the dual sim support? I have installed Crdroid but it's somewhat buggy for me also causing random reboots.
Can someone list out other ROMs that support Dual Sim on XT1033?
XT1033 is a dual sim variant. Most of the ROM's are for the single sim variant. So in order to flash those ROM's you need to convert your XT1033 to GPE by flashing Stock GPE OTA.
Yes you can revert back to use dual sim functionality of your phone by flashing Stock Firmware for XT1033.
CM11 (Dont know about CM12) ROM's and CM11 based ROM's does support dual sim, but you should check it out in the respective ROM's thread to be sure before flashing it
Currently there are many ROM's that support dual sim variant(XT1033). I personally use PAC MAN ROM running 4.4.4 KitKat and it works pretty well for me.
Thanks. Installed PAC Man ROM Everything looks fine.

I recently bought a Moto G only to discover that my version (XT1033, the Dual SIM/16GB Brazillian version) doesn't have many (if any) custom ROMs avaiable (mostly because of dual SIM, I guess?).
Now, by lurking a bit I got mixed opinions.
Is it possible to successfully (with no serious bugs/issues) flash a custom ROM (say, Cyanogen 11) from a different version?
The idea I got is that Dual SIM won't work (since most custom ROMs are made for single chips). I don't really care about dual chip capability (I use only one), but I fear that I will brick/screw up my brand new phone.
I have a mild know-how on flashing/rooting and whatnot, my only problem is that Single/Dual SIM cards issue.
Thanks in advance.
q1)Are there any kernel that is support xt1033?
q2)after i flash the cm11 rom to my xt1033,i can't even get any signal even i have a sim card...what should i do?
Hi there,
I have been searching the threads for the last few days trying to find some sort of status on Dhackers cm11 rom for the XT1033, However there seems to be so much miss-information it's hard to decipher it all. What I want to know is the following:
Is dual sim support fully working yet?
Are there any bugs?
Custom Kernels that work with the dual sim variety?
Also on a side note is anybody aware of a place in New Zealand where I can get backdoor case for the Moto G? I've searched online and nothing seems to have turned up!
And yes I have read the FAQ, I'm not that stupid
dual sim is fully supported. some bugs are still there like boot screen lag, phone freezes sometimes etc. can't say about kernels.
here is a list of known issues

I got got a moto g xt1031 and have started to read through various topics, but so far I have not found one. Apparently Boost is taking its sweet time updating their roms, so I was looking for a stock, unbloated rom. however I am not sure what I should be looking for.
Can a xt1031 be converted to a google play edition moto g? I think the gpe moto g is a gsm model, so it probably would not work? My searches were inconclusive.
Or is there some 'generic' or unbranded cdma aosp or stock moto rom out there that I could flash instead?

thanks but not sure if that is what i am looking for, and still leaves me with a lot of questions. unless some of those others on the list, like the XT1032 can be flashed over the xt1031? So far I have not been able to find any convert xt1031 to gpe guides... so I've no idea if that is even possible.
There are two ROMs for XT1031 in that thread. You can unlock the Bootloader (See FAQ in Q & A) and flash a custom recovery, then flash the ROM or a custom ROM if CDMA compatible.
