[REQUEST] App to Visualize Music from PC on Android device?

So I recently got a Nexus 7 and I love my device. The only annoying part is I don't get to play with it during my working hours I figured maybe I could change that by using it as a visualizer for the music I play on my PC (linux), ie. Audio Glow but with a remote audio source.
So far I've been unable to find any solution that would actually let me do this though. I could play music on my android device instead but this is not ideal as it's not as easy to quickly press pause and many music services will charge you if you want to use them on a mobile device.
So I resort to XDA, does anyone know of any methods to do this or can I possibly kindle someones developer enthusiasm with this idea?
Thanks

The only thing I can think of is maybe xbmc installed on your Linux box then one of the android remotes that's available from the play store.

launchers...
Can you please describe this problem further? When I search for home screens or launchers in google play store, I get 2 or 3 that seem good for display on televisions such as this one "TVLauncher". Is this what you are talking about?

YouTube leanback... Utorrent...
I'm not sure if apps in one android device can control another android device the way you want... Maybe if the control device runs the app, while the other device to be controlled runs a browser in 'desktop' mode (not Chrome) and browses to an appropriate web address such as youtube.com/leanback or remote.utorrent.com but this seems awkward. So basically I recommend to try a remote control app that is designed for android-to-android control, such as "Tablet Remote".

Whatever happens, I recommend to opt-in for HTML5 player in youtube.com/html5 so as to minimize use of Flash player. Otherwise, install Flash player app on all android devices that will play youtube and other online videos.
Cheers.

[APP][PORT][4.0/4.1+] Archos Multimedia Apps (22/03/2015 - Archos Files updated)

Hi all,
I managed to get Archos apps working on other Android devices. No big changes compared to Archos versions for now, it is something to do later. The apps are supposed to work on any Jelly Bean+ device. Remove AVOS applications first before installing these ones. For example - you can not install "my" Archos Music above Archos Music from Archos, but you can install "my" Archos Music next to Archos video from Archos. Currently the following apps are working:
Archos Music
Archos Files
Archos Video (free/paid versions are available at Google Play Store)
Archos Game Zone (cool for JXD devices and so on )
Archos Kids Zone (cool for Kids tablets and so on)
Archos Share (for easy DLNA sharing)
Archos Multimedia applications among to the best of their kind and feature metadata scraping, auto-subtitles and of course, the best format and codec support around including 1080p video decoding. There is uPnP and Samba sharing for streaming media from a PC or Mac on your home network and multiple languages and resolutions are supported, should work on nearly every configuration. You are always welcome to try.
Downloads are located here:
http://www.sendspace.com/folder/8krp1f
Feedback is very welcome.
Bonus:
See my topic for Archos wallpapers.
Change Log:
22/03/2015 - Update Archos FIles with Lollipop look, support for FTP and more.
11/03/2014 - Add new builds for Archos Files & Archos Music
04/03/2014 - Add Archos Share application
02/03/2014 - Update Archos Music to 6.0.46T
03/02/2014 - Add Kids Zone app
02/02/2014 - Initial release
Archos Music is working nicely here, didn't try the rest yet.
Archos Kids Zone now running too.
Great job. I like these apps a lot and it is great to have the ability to install them in other archos devices.
Best regards and thank you very much.
Thanks everybody for 500 downloads.
Archos Music Version 6.0.46T based on 6.0.46 now included. The changes:
- Archos: Support for x86 platform
- Archos: A few bug fixes
- Archos: Add MediaRender option(doesn't work with my configuration, but you are always welcome to try )
- tablet-guy: Improve Russian translations
www.sendspace.com/file/zai9m4
Note: 6.0.46 is not even shipping with Archos devices yet, nor it is on Google Play(6.0.33 is the latest currently).
Game Zone force closes immediately. Nexus 5 4.4.2 all other apps work.

Thanks for your feedback. That's quite strange as Kids Zone/Game Zone/Chef zone(which I can not find) are actually based on one single app. However, I will see whether I can do something with it during the week.
Well I don't try those apps XD all others I tried. Music and file manager are good.
Well, they are not very important apps anyway. Glad that the other two are working.
Added Archos Share app. Requires Archos Files for full functionality. http://www.sendspace.com/file/gb4ctb
With Archos Share, you can easily organise your DLNA shared folders and select the file types to be shared. Not much different from DLNAServer.apk which was uploaded first, just a few name/translation changes.

Sorry to hear it is not working like it should be. Can you give me more details about the device(google doesn't recognise the note 005) and the Android version, so I can try to reproduce the problem? Does it happen on all audio files?
is there anyway for archos music to look for music on ext sd cards?
looks good

I'm unable to install Archos Music on my Galaxy S3 (I9300). Any idea why?

So I was just about to buy the amazon fire until I found out about the nexus player..

Sooo I was just about to buy either a fire tv or stick until i just found out about the nexus player today.
So my question is which one and which one is being more supported and easier to load xmbc at this time?
another question is are the apps and playstore preinstalled on these devices?

If I were you, I would take my time, look at the Nexus TV Player, and the Coming real soon Razor Forge TV, depending on your needs, plus the features
you want on your Android TV box. As far as the XBMC player, take a good look at my new "Kodi Streaming Auto Wizard" app found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...nback-launcher-code-play-store-t2976754/page9 !
If you plan on adding a HDHomeRun Prime {For Cable TV} or a HDHomeRun Extend OTA Digital {HD} box for adding your Live Local TV via a PVR set up, then I will advise you to take a very strong look at my new "Kodi Streaming Auto Wizard" app!
