I just wanted to know if there was any talk ever about software that would help me manage my phone and maybe that i could get music from?
Use Android Music to manage your music files and Amazon Music to buy the music.
It just seems weird that Google wouldnt do that especially with this device I saw called the Samsung Galaxy 5. When I found that, it prompted my original question because it is marketed as a music player.
I read somewhere they are working on adding a music store to the Google Music app

Check out media monkey. It allow for syncing to android devices. And only runs one background process (when running).. unlike iTunes which runs four at all times.

Correct - there was a press release that music purchasing through Google Music will "be here soon"
Ok so I cant post link but i did some more reading and type in,
google(dot)music(dot)com
and it takes you to a beta sign up. Theres a video. Its all there. GO THERE!
It looks like there is no way to control music currently?
Until recently I have been using the Smart Extras Music app and Media Button control apps to control my music player (Google Music). Now that I have updated to KitKat, the Smart Extras Music app crashes.
Sony should be ashamed. This is one of the main uses of the damn watch. :cyclops:
I am developer by trade, so I will use Sony's API to create an app to do it, but it is infuriating that I have to!
This sort of stuff is the reason I sold my Xperia S and bought a Nexus!
I just picked up a sw2 and have the n5, willing to test for you if need be

A possible solution could be to find another working music player smart extension on the Google Play.
In my case the Sony music player extension no longer works after the latest update, so I bought this one and it works well with my S4 stock music player and it's also fast responding:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.disrapptive.smart.music
If you want to try, consider that if you'll not be satisfied with it you have 15 minutes to eventually ask for a reimbursement.
Re: No way to control music
Sony should create a application that could help in stoping and playing music from the Smartwatch
If you have poweramp player installed, you can use it's plugin. It supports SW1 and SW2.
And what about default app for SW1 - it works with both default player and poweramp. Don't know about SW2.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonyericsson.extras.liveware.extension.music
Check this default app out.
Re: No ways to control music
Yes I did not find any way to control to music over smartwatch..
Works fine for me on my N4 with 4.4.2 in ART mode and Google Music. It sometimes takes a few attempts but then works fine. I just don't see any album art on the SW2.
Make sure you don't have some sort of task killer and that you didn't Greenify the Sony apps.
A Redditor created a new extension to control music. His one shows album art and also supports the new "low power" mode: http://www.reddit.com/r/smartwatch/comments/1ty29q/smartwatch_2_music_control
Ive solved this problem with remote widgets app and Its perfect.

I get:
Parse error
There was a problem while parsing the package.
Nexus 4, Android 4.3. I guess perhaps the guy has written it only for 4.4 for now?
I had a chance to have a closer look. It is a permission error:
Code:
permission Denial: reading com.android.providers.media.MediaProvider uri
I don't have the full text of the log cat entry, as stupid me didn't save it before factory reset my phone.
Anyway, it turns out the Sony music control app is getting a permission denied error under KitKat when it attempts to retrieve album art.
The work around is to root your device. I hadn't gotten around to rooting my N4 until now. My N4 is now rooted, and it all works fine.
It is a pretty piss poor effort by Sony that they haven't fixed this. On Facebook their excuse was that "their phones don't run KitKat yet". Big deal Sony, you market you watches to other brands of phone too. This is exactly the sort of attitude that caused me to sell my Xperia S and get a Nexus.

My Nexus 5 is rooted and yet the Sony extension has never worked well, in fact it's easily the worse part of the watch. I have had no problems with anything else, aside from the music app. I wonder how did you get it to work with root? Do you need to give it permission elsewhere?
The above app from the Reddit thread works nicely, very simple but, album art is sort of there and it only plays/pauses but, it WORKS which is the main thing.
Disabbling Google music in application manager on My note 3 makes the SW2 control music on the stock music player which is the one I like to use

Not finding much launchers for my ugoos um2.
Anyone have any solutions?
Also has anyone had any luck with getting YouTube lean back working so that I can queue videos with my android device to the TV stick.
Utorrent would be nice if I could queue files from my android mobile to the TV stick also. Anyone got this working?
Thanks
Steven

launchers...
Can you please describe this problem further? When I search for home screens or launchers in google play store, I get 2 or 3 that seem good for display on televisions such as this one "TVLauncher". Is this what you are talking about?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.awe.dev.pro.tv&hl=en
YouTube leanback... Utorrent...
I'm not sure if apps in one android device can control another android device the way you want... Maybe if the control device runs the app, while the other device to be controlled runs a browser in 'desktop' mode (not Chrome) and browses to an appropriate web address such as youtube.com/leanback or remote.utorrent.com but this seems awkward. So basically I recommend to try a remote control app that is designed for android-to-android control, such as "Tablet Remote".
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tournesol.tabletremote&hl=en
Whatever happens, I recommend to opt-in for HTML5 player in youtube.com/html5 so as to minimize use of Flash player. Otherwise, install Flash player app on all android devices that will play youtube and other online videos.
Cheers.

Dear all,
I am listening to my music using GooglePlayMusic cloud on my android.
I would like to send this music from my smartphone to my PC (linked to my Hifi) using internet or Bluetooth.
Do you know if such an app will allow me to do so ?
I have been looking at 10 different app and I still can find what I am looking for.
Twonky App is the one closest to what I want but:
1. i don't know if this app will read my google play cloud (it is not a local database on my smartphone)
2. for some reason this app is not available on the google phone NEXUS 5 O__o.
Thanks for you help !

Am I misunderstanding what you would like to do? You can just use Chrome and go to the Google Music website and stream the music direct on your PC without using your phone at all. I do that all the time.
You should have your music when you login into chrome by email which is also login in your phone
Http://www.Music.Google.com will give you what you need just open that on your computer and its the same exact library on your phone as long as you're logged in to your Google account

I'm trying to play my music that playing on my pc "windows" to some of my android devices.
The thing is i have multiple old android phones and i want to stream my music to them all being synced at same time. all of them will be on the same network but in different rooms ofc.
I tried stream what you hear with soundseeder but they are way out of sync. like 10 sec delay. I'm trying to find a less delayed solution as i will be moving from room to room often and going from 1 room to another hearing a weird shift and delay in music won't be fun at all.

There are other apps in the PlayStore that allow playing music with multiple devices in "party mode", the free ones aren't going to help, you will probably not find a completely free option, you will need to at least pay for premium service in one of those apps, but you take your chances because you won't know which of them work well or not until after you pay for it.

Do a Google search for:
"Apps to play music in party mode on multiple devices"
That will give you plenty of suggestions. Sometimes, quite often really, you just can't beat a simple Google search.
This is where I like my JBL bluetooth speakers using JBL connect to connect multiple speakers to one device. Better audio quality and no latency.
