My rooted Nexus 5 ver4.4.3 suddenly has issue with wifi. In about 24 hr, wifi connection cannot be re-established. Even I turn off the wifi button in the setting I still see all the available wifi there. Close it and reopen the wifi setting, the wifi shows ON. It fails to connect any hotspot, encrypted or not. For any encrypted hotspot, it asks for password again and no password knows.
Only reboot correct the issue and I uninstalled several apps but condition remains.
will capturing bug report help? Should I wipe device clean? How can I do full application+data backup?

Ever since my phone got the XNPH38R update I've been having an issue with wi-fi
If I connect to wifi it works fine but as soon as I lose the wifi signal it can't seem to reconnect to the same wifi without rebooting the phone. Its especially annoying when I walk to get the mail or come home from anywhere.
I've tried manually connecting to the wifi after being disconnected in the android wifi settings menu but it doesn't connect until I reboot my phone.
I'm running the 64GB oneplus one on t-mobile in the usa.
Any suggestions?

I've had this issue on CM, except it'd work when I manually connected back to the wifi - I believe it's an issue when the phone goes to sleep it's failing to resume wifi connections.
The only thing I could suggest is try downgrading back down, or doing a clean re-install, and reporting this issue on CM's jira, so they can fix it.

I'm on OMNI now, so I can't really help you out, but do try unticking that 'wifi optimization' option, or perhaps using a tasker profile to turn off and on wifi whenever the screen display turns off and on respectively (at the trade off of loosing connection, so you won't be able to download stuff while the phone's off).
i have the same problem..
Hello,
Every known wifi network I walk into, I get an wifi connection failure and my phone does not get connected. After going to the wifi network settings and manually choose connect, there is no problem...
Also overnight, my connection get lost and when I wake up I have the same error. I have to do the same thing (manually connect to my known wifi network(s).) before I can use it...
Deleting the network and adding it again will not solve the issue. I have attached the logcat. I also have enabled extended wifi logging for the logcat.
At 16.21 I enabled wifi and it does not connect
At 16.50 I manually connect to the network
Also added a logcat during night. I loose my wifi connection over night and when I wake up, I have to manually reconnect to my wifi.... Really annoying
I have done a factory reset, with no luck. Did a rom update with full wipe, still no luck.
Did removed the data/misc/dhcp and data/misc/wifi folders and removed all known wifi networks and readded them... No luck
Using catalysm 5.1.1 with faux kernel 025u
Does anybody know what's going on?
Thnx!
Same problem for me . Already reported from a guy https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=170078
Hello!
Since I installed YOG4PAS1N0, I have an annoying problem with my wifi:
Whenever I turn wifi off, I'm not able to turn it on again. Tapping on it doesn't do anything. Entering and leaving airplane mode doesn't help either. The only way to turn on wifi is to reboot the phone. Then wifi is turned on when the phone started.
After installing YOG4PAS1N0 I didn't do anything. No app installed or any settings changed. Nothing.
Can anybody help me finding a solution please?
It happened to me just once: i switched my profile with one that turns wifi off, then turning it on again by any means would not start scanning for networks resulting in an empty list. A full reboot solved the problem, but now I can't seem to reproduce this issue. I rembember my headphones were plugged in but I can't see why that would interfere with wifi interface.
I don't use any profiles, though.
When I try to activate wifi and hit the wifi settings, my phone literally freezes for 10 seconds before I can use it again - with disabled wifi.
Hello everyone,
I recently encountered an issue with my Nexus 5 that has been driving me crazy for the past couple days.
So basically I was streaming a video on you tube the other night, until my Nexus 5 froze up. My phone was taking way too long to respond, so I decided to hold the power button until the device shut off, and I held the power button again to turn it back on. (duh) As soon as it turned back on, I was no longer able to connect to my home WIFI. So now whenever I try to connect to our home WiFi, I get an "authentication error" and the WiFi network status just comes up as 'saved" instead of "connected". My mobile Data works fine, it's just my WiFi that isn't working anymore. Did I accidentally fry a component within my Device that allowed me to connect to a WiFi network? If there is a fix to this, please let me know ASAP! :crying:
'forget' your wifi network and put in the password again; should fix it.
Do other devices still connect to the same WiFi network?
Rebooted the router?
As above, also forget the network and re-enter the password.
For completeness, test the Nexus on different WiFi networks as well.
Very last resort should be factory reset if you can't get it to connect. If it doesn't connect on fully stock unmodified software, then you have a hardware problem.
Hi All,
I hope im not duplicating this question ( i have searched with no results).
Recently Ive been having a problem with the mobile tethering from the tablet. My phone shows connecting, connects for a few seconds and disconnects. This happens a few times then it shows the message Authentication Error.
Im trying to connect my Note 5 which is on 5.1.1 but the tablet is on 5.0.2.
I have tried the following already:
Changed SSID to a different name;
I changed the broadcast channel to a specific channel;
I cleared data of Google Services Framework (messed up the syncing of my Google account but resolved this);
I changed the password;
I changed from Allowed devices only to all devices and back;
Removed security and password to connect;
Deleted the device as an allowed device and re-added it.
On the Note 5:
I forgot the network and reconnected;
I reset settings in the backup and reset menu (this is missing on the tablet)
The phone connects to other wifi networks.
Ive noticed the issue starts in my office but at home I manage to connect sometimes. It does disconnect from time to time.
This started about a month back, before that it connected without any issues. Any ideas what i should check or reset to resolve this? I don't want to do a factory reset. Connecting via bluetooth works perfectly still.
Thank you,
Any help please?
Any ideas why the tethering would not work at certain locations?
