Phone dies when before battery shows 0 (dies at around 20) using AK Kernel - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
After I flashed AK Kernel using a profile posted by magnamentis my battery has been outstanding but the phone dies when battery reaches 20 % mark. sometimes 30, sometimes 25. Any ideas as to why this might be happening? Any way of calibrating the battery to state the correct level?
Many thanks

Use the app BatteryCalibration.

I just tried it. Will report back when the phone discharges. Thanks

I've got 50 minutes of screen on time and my battery is still at 100%. I think something is still clearly wrong...

Have you used BatteryCalibration?
Remember, let it charge to 100% first as instructed in the app itself.
If that doesn't work, I suggest wiping all cache in recovery or ultimately a factory reset.

Yes, I followed the instruction in the app. I will try wiping the cache see if that helps.

I found something frome paultje162
First download Thaiz O3D Stock 2.7.1
And make sure you are rooted and have CWM
let it on the charger for about 2 hours.
go into CWM
Wipe data
Wipe cache
Advanced settings:
wipe battery stats
wipe dalvik
go back
Mounts and Storage:
format system
go back
Install zip from sdcard
Choose zip
Flash thaiz O3d 2.7.1
reboot
wipe battery stats again
flash thaiz O3d 2.7.1
and reboot
now let it sit on the charger for about 24 hours. after that. you will see you magically have 30% battery.
unplug it. plug it. and it charges fast again
........
Thats a post of him hope it works

It worked for me. so it should do the trick.
and if it doesnt.
you can put your phone into download mode to restore it to stock.
just unplug battery. hold power and vol up
put in usb cord
put in battery
and let LG mobile update restore it.
remember, you need to take your own KDZ and flash it manually.
like you always restore your phone.
if i'm not wrong it shouldnt ask for charging your battery first.
So, I thought I'd add my experience to this.
I'd been having the same problem with the 0% battery thing since I bought the phone off Ebay.
I tried wiping and flashing rom etc, and it didn't work.
I recently got the battery expansion cover and the larger battery.
One night, I'd had a couple beers and dropped the phone on the floor. The back case flew off and the battery flew out as well. I replaced the battery and replaced the case and turned the phone on.
What do you know, the battery problem was fixed and hasn't returned.
Strange.

proper battery calibration i would suggest
get these apps first
current widget(its a widget..so yu need to add widget onto your screen)
battery calibration
charge the phone completely..not until the battery shows 100% but until the current widget shows 0/1 mah (it might take hours too..for this to happen even after 100%)
then stop charging and immediately wipe the stats using battery calibration app
then let it discharge completely(i.e. until phone switches off because of low battery)
then charge it completely again and then check the stats

If all fail, try to do "temp root" (instead of perm root), temp root does not modify any system partition nor recovery, you can try the link (or Google it): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161283 (I never tried it), after temp root is done, should be able to remove the battery stat file (I believe it is /data/system/batterystats.bin) and reboot.

Battery Callibration - For Micromax A110/MyPhone 919 / Q10 Noir

Hi All,
There is No-one Noob, all are the same. Some are Developer & Porters and Others are Members...
For Those Who are Just "Flashoholic" and are Flashing ROMs and Mods, Battery Calibration is Must...
We have Seen Wipe Battery Stats in CWM Recovery Advanced Options but never tried it. Now its time to use it.
Lets Start With the Calibration, but Please Please make Sure to Charge your Battery to 100% or else it will Show wrong Parameters.
Follow the Steps mentioned below....:-
Make sure battery is at 100% and then Leave it on charge for 15 minutes.
Without Disconnecting the Charger just boot in to Recovery(Dont dis-connect the charger)
Then go to advanced in then wipe battery status.
Then reboot to system.
It will show you somewhere 97%.
Let it get full charged again...
You are Done Now....

Bro,
S.off your phone take the battery out and then re insert the battery and s.on it. It will show you a 99% battery or less than that let it get charged then try this.
I was suggested this by another user here. It also does same. CWM or this APP, both deletes "batterystats.bin" file and after immediate reboot the counter starts fresh with actual value. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration&hl=en Give it a try. No need to go in recovery mode with this app.
thank you...
Will definitely try this one... Thank you...
Bro what else if we dont have wipe battery stats option in advance?
Our latest cwm recovery doesnt have this option.. the old one has.. but developer says its useless as it wont work.. so he remove it in latest version.. m talking about mmx A110 device.
Sent from my MICROMAX A110 using xda premium
Wipe battery is useless
on every restart phone automatically wipe it
so this option remove from recovery..
just charge your mob 100%
restart without remove charger
check charging is 100% if not then charge it until 100% (some time take 3-4 hrs.)
100% done... remove charger.. use it until 0% don't charging until 0%
try to restart 1-2 time (for empty battery)
then again charge until 100% without remove charger
you do this any time when you feel your battery is need to calibrate..

battery percentage not accurate on mytouch 4g slide cm9.1

battery percentage not accurate on mytouch 4g slide cm9.1 ....i charged my phone for 6 hours it gives 36%,i unplug it and reboot it and it gives 94%,after another reboot it gives 72% just wondering why it keeps fluctuating and the batt stats as been wipe but still the same please kindly help
Try discharging it completely, then charge up to 100% without any breaks. Then, again empty the battery and charge to max. Then, for the third time, once you're done discharging and charging up to 100%, don't disconnect the charger, manually delete batterystats.bin in data/system, and then disconnect the charger.
...The above solution might work. Might. Yeah.
thanks please is there any other option?
Use Battery Monitor Widget. Put the widget on your home screen, monitor your battery at all times, gather enough data, and then calibrate it.
If that still does not solve the problem then... wipe cache, dalvik, flash a new kernel.
If that's no good either, then switch to another ROM.
If you still cannot see light at the end of the tunnel, then... buy a new battery.
If, even then, life still betrays you... then... thoroughly mix 2.34 grams of sugar and 5.09 grams of powdered gold in 155.71 grams of warm distilled water. Drink the mixture and hopefully, your life will change for the better.
I've got your back. :fingers-crossed:
thanks for getting back at me....my battery works great on the stock rom when i tried switching back but its just malfunction on cm9 and cm10 as well...i.e battery percentage not accurate...well,i will give it a try and please how do i flash a new kernel
Flash WildKernel Reloaded on either CM9 or CM10.
1. Download the zip file and copy it to your phone's SD card.
2. Boot your phone in Recovery. Wipe cache and dalvik cache.
3. Flash/Install the zip file.
4. Reboot your phone.
5. Empty the battery, charge to 100%, wipe batterystats, unplug charger.
That should do the trick. But if it still fails, try flashing a different ROM. AOKP, for instance.

Batterystats.bin is automatically wiped when the battery charge. So doing all that crazy calibration is honestly a waste of time.

I had to buy extra batteries if I wanted to stay on the bleeding edge of development.
For some reason CM9 was the same way and it took ages to fix. Its just something your going to have to compensate for if you plan on staying with the device.

Download kernel of choice...make sure your s-off then wipe cache and dalvik then flash in recovery or...if your s-on download kernel of choice. Flash it in recovery (for modules to be flashed) then boot into boot loader and run put the boot.img in your SDK/fastboot dir and run fastboot flash boot boot.img and reboot.

The battery drains from 15 to 0% in a matter of seconds

Hey guys, I have been getting really good battery life, and I still am. But since a couple of days I have been noticing that the whole battery gets drained in a couple of seconds soon after the battery hits somewhere as low as 14 or 15%. The phone just shuts down and wouldn't turn on before it's plugged in again. Also, I noticed the phone charges back from 0-12 or 13 % in under a minute, which is VERY STRANGE.
What do you think is happening guys? Please help.
PS: Read somewhere here about calibrating battery by charging it for 8 hours, turning off, and all that. I did try that and it did not work for me
Thanks a lot in advance
Anyone?
Have you tried factory reset or stock img flash via fastboot? These are first two steps you should try.

So does that mean there is nothing wrong with the battery? I mean the hardware part? @Lukiqq
I think hw is fine in your case, you should really try revert it to factory state first.

Yes. Turns out it was a problem with the battery calibration. Let your phone run out of charge. Once it turns itself off, plug it in for about 2.5 hours without interruption. Unplug, wait for 5 minutes, re-plug and charge for another 15 minutes. Unplug and turn on the phone. Your phone should be re calibrated
