How do I turn the phone on?
OK, not as stupid as it might sound; when the battery gets to 0 and the phone powers down, I have real problems powering it back up again. Even after it's left plugged in for a while, I just have a flashing orange notification light.
Pressing the power on button does nothing.
Pressing and holding the power on eventually makes the screen flash (hard reset?)
But the phone wont start up unless I unplug it.
Should the phone vibrate/blink/flash to show it is starting the boot up process?
For how long do you charge it after dead?
Is it with the original charger?
Sent from my HTC One S using XDA
it is totally normal for htc phones to do that. blinking yellow light means the battery is too low to power the system but it is still charging the battery. after 10-15 minutes of charging, the blinking yellow will change to stable yellow light after which you can press the power button to turn on your phone. hope this helps
Well its new and nothing happens when pressing power button, holding. Plugged in to AC and now has a orange light next to button. Guess 100% dead battery. 2nd time.. I gave up. Yeah nothing lol. Press on while plugged (left plugged in) in just blinks orange.

Just let it charge for 4-5 hrs, then try again, if you go, then exchange for another one. There is no trick to turn on a brand new device, possible bad power button, mainboard, battery what ever....or if you feel a very vibration while holding down the power button, possible screen issue.
I bought my Zenfone 2 about 3 months ago and it had been working perfectly fine. However, on the day before yesterday the phone appeared to lag more than it usually does but I didn't pay much attention to it. Later in the evening I noticed that the battery was not reducing and it remained constantly at 50%, despite me having watched at least an hour of youtube on it.
Later, when I was watching some videos online, the phone suddenly turned off - I thought that was because I had used up all the battery, so I plugged it into the main using the original cable and charger, but the phone would not charge and the little light on the top right of the phone never came on. I could not turn on my phone and all the phone would do was buzzes every few minutes. So since then, I have kept the phone connected to the charger (and it carried on to buzz twice every few minutes). I tried to turn the phone on yesterday morning by long pressing the button on the top of the phone but it would again not turn on at all.
When the phone is being charged, it buzzes every 1 and a half minute regardless of which charger or cable I'm using, and when the phone is not being charged, it doesn't buzz
Someone tried to help and suggested me to do the 3 following things:
1) Hold the power button for 15 minutes then let go and press for another few secs to try to turn the phone on - I did this, and the phone did buzz when i tried to turn it on, but the screen is still off, as well as the small light on the top right
2) hold the volume up + power button for 5 seconds, then release volume up before releasing power button - my phone buzzed after holding both volume up + power button for a few seconds, but still the screen did not come on and neither did the small light.
3) hold the volume down + power button for 5 seconds, then release volume down before releasing power button - nothing happened. The phone didn't even buzz.
I don't really understand why I was asked to do them, but i did them anyway
I am currently in the UK and I bought my phone from abroad so I cannot get a warranty fix in the UK.
Please kindly help if you know the the problem is and please give me some advice.
Much appreciated. Thank you.

Hello. Today when i was at the beach, i pulled my z5 from the bag and it was HOT, like 50°C on the outside, barrely holding it. When i pressed the power button it turned off. 3 short vibrations, like the vol+ and power burron combo.
I pressed the volup+power button and let the phone cool down.
After ~1h it was cool and i tryed to power it up.
After the power button press it vibrates ones and the screen doesn't turn on.
After a little 3 short red light led blinks and 1 long red led blink (around 10sec) and then the led notification turns off.
What could be wrong with the phone?
p.s. when i plug it to the charger the same thing happens... 3short red led blinks and 1 long, and then nothing.
Just send it to service, they will recover your device under guarantee.
Long story short, today i received a new device with 2years guarantee.
Thumbs up
I just replaced the battery as well as both the fingerprint reader and the charging port board. Of course many potential problems with a tripple-fix like that but I actually think I got it right!
Now it appears as the new battery is fully drained and I can't get the phone to boot – not even into Recovery. It doesn't seem to take any charge either.
The bootloader is unlocked and rooted (Magisk) and has TWRP and Lineage 17.1 installed.
When connected to charger, red LED starts blinking but the screen stays black.
After 45 seconds the LED turns off.
Intermittently starts blinking again.
Restarting with VOL DOWN + POWER BUTTON doesn't work
It does vibrate after 12-15 seconds but then nothing.
VOL DOWN -> adding POWER BUTTON, then releasing POWER at vibration doesn’t work either.
Resetting battery calibration according to htc-instructions didn't do anything either
VOL UP + VOL DOWN + POWER for up to 2 minutes

Had it connected to charger for several hours without any result
Had it connected to USB 2.0-port on computer for several hours without any result
Read somewhere that a drained battery might have a hard time receiving the high current from a charger but could work with the relatively weak charging from a USB 2.0-port. (couldn’t find the source right now..)
Wondering whether the battery has been put into "sleep mode" by its protective circuit built due to too low voltage, as described in this thread:
SOLVED: Device will not power on after battery ran dry? - HTC One M8
Have you tried to reset the charging logic of the device, first you must charge your M8 for a minimum of 10 minutes using a wall charger. With the power off, press down and hold the volume up and down button with the power button for approximately 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, release all of...
