Does anyone else have problems setting up an exchange email account on their mate7? i keep having a "cannot connect to server" prompt.
I've successfully set up my exchange on my ipad2 and htcM8 previously (and currently still syncing fine) so it's not a problem with the email server.

Ok so I flashed to WM6.1 got everything finally going and decided to get my email setup. Got my yahoo mail account and my gmail account started then tryed to sync and keep getting this message:
Dialed: isp.cingular
Cannot connect for an unknown reason.....
I think i need to manually set something up, possibly "My ISP" in settings. Can someone please inform me. I searched, but couldn't find a thing on 6.1 and AT&T.
Thanks

Here are the settings you should use.
trying to locate the ATT proxy manager.....anyone have it close by?
It sounds like the same problem I had.
You need to change the advance server settings on the individual accounts to use medianet. You can find the setting in onhthe Outgoing mail server page when you are checking the setting on the email accounts.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=XDA-LiveTiltAddonFiles
changed settings and rebooting as we speak.
now I get this message
Cannot connect with current connection settings
tried to remove and restore proxy settings with no luck
having the same issue, any more ideas out there?
I had this problem also.. this is why I went back to 6.0
ok so with WIFI connected I am able to sync my email. when I set the connection to Media Net, Work, and The Internet I get the error sync message. I have removed and restored proxy.
anything else?
I think there could be a larger problem. My Internet stopped working late Tuesday (Feb 5, 2008) afternoon. A quick perusal of the Kaiser and Kaiser upgrading etc. forums in looking for a solution to my problem suggests others may be experiencing the same thing.
Can only get online using PIE
I cant use AT&T internet on certain apps?
Opera Mini works but not PIE?
Internet stopped working on my Tilt at around 8pm PST today. Seems to be working fine now though.
Similar problem here
Running Dutty 6.1 Beta. 2 yahoo accounts, 1 gmail - tried auto and manual IMAP configuration. None can connect using MediaNet. However, both Internet and Outlook push from exchange server work fine.
Turn on Wifi, then Yahoo/Gmail work. Connect through USB ActiveSync, then Yahoo/Gmail work. Very strange...
Hey guys, its not an upgrade issue, its a network issue, here's some more info over here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366104
ok so with everything set to connect via Media Net I get not connection, still get the error.....WELL.....this morning I work up and the phone had sync'd?
What the heck? So i am guessing the connection is set correct, maybe I just have a stubborn phone? I will test and try things out today
I had the same problem Post 2 and 4 fixed my problem.

I can't believe I missed that setting! That was it! It was default to "The Internet".

Thanks for this post, dragonacc, you just saved my butt after I installed a new ROM!!
I had the same issue moving to Dutty's DualTouch v4, so it has nothing to do with 6.1 vs 6.0. It was the "by default" setting. Turns out that streaming media and Pocket Outlook were trying to use the "My ISP" setting rather than MediaNet. Fixing the default fixed it for them, too.
I've lost the push email capability from my company's mail server -- worked great for months but in the past couple of weeks I can only get my email by using the send/receive feature to force downloads. Still uploads my msg. when I send them. Any suggestions or advice is most welcome.
Thanks!
hi, i'm having the same problem here...
push worked great for a while but now it stopped and i can't activate it anymore
i'm using the same rom as you, maybe it's a bug of the rom???
I had the same problem with this ROM version.. There was any incompatibility in exchange calendar... After unsubscribing calendar sync from active sync (syncing only emails, contacts and tasks), AS and push mail works great via GPRS or WIFI or USB...
Hey, I just got the fuze and setup my gmail. I can receive, but can't send. Whey it tried to send I get the message "The messag(s) could not be sent. Check that you have the network coverage and that yhour account information is correct. Then try resending".
I did verify my account info was correct and I double checked the gmail settings. Also I thought maybe the proxy was active so I did run the disable proxy.
Anyone else have this issue?

If you have AT&T set your SMTP to: CWMX.COM
This is a known, and now fixed Microsoft problem with WM 6.1 Here is the link to the download on the Microsoft site.

Hope this helps,

I got the same error trying to send an email to Gmail IMAP server over a 3G connection. Does the WinMo 6.1 problem/fix apply to Gmail IMAP the same as it does to POP3 accounts?
Sure does.
Brian
Thanks for the verification, Brian. I applied the fix, and Gmail IMAP is working as it should.

This resolved the GMail outbound email issue for me as well.
Thanks to all of you who help others around here!
Okay, so I'm having this problem as well. I installed the Microsoft update, but like ... it's still not working.
I recently switched from a Tytn II/Tilt and Touch Pro/Fuze. I had email working on my Tilt, but it won't let me send on the Fuze. I am 100% sure all the settings are correct, and like I said, the update is installed. Aside from the proxy server thing, I have no ideas of how to fix this. But I don't know how the proxy server thing works.

What provider do you have, what account are you trying to set up, what ROM are you on, etc, etc, etc.....
I hope you weren't expecting someone to answer your vague question...
Yes, you mentioned Tilt and Fuze which tells me that your on AT&T but you really haven't provided enough info to assist you.
For your proxy, go to Start\Settings\Connection\Connections\Manage Existing Connections\Proxy Settings and check "TAhis network connects to the internet" uncheck "this network uses a proxy" and clear out any proxy listed.
Also go to Advanced\Select Networks and set both to MediaNet.
Depending on WHAT e-mail your trying to set up, check your settings for the outgoing server.
For example default settings for Yahoo put in smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com but I have to remove .mobile to get it to send.
Fuze and gmail
I have pop enabled for gmail--do I need imap instead?
I can't seem to connect--it rejects my password.
Hotmail works.
Pop3 through Lunarpages server works fine.
I can access my gmail just fine on my desktop computer.
oopsss, it decided to start working..didn't do anything different, not even reboot. persistence pays..
Fuze--change default email account?
How do I change my default email account?
I have several apps that send email to the default email set in Windows, and they all end up in the Outlook E-mail account Outbox, which is the Exchange one, and I don't use it.
Can't delete or change it. AT&T support was clueless.
Corporate Sync was working prior to 2.3.6. Now when I try to connect to my company's exchange server, I get this message:This device does not support this server version. Is anyone else having Corporate Sync problems after update?
Nope. My activesync connectivity is working with 2.3.6.
A different error

No, I don't have that problem, and we're using Exchange 2003.I have a different problem:
A client sent me an email this morning and when I'm viewing my inbox, I can see the first line of text, yet when I select the message to view it, the message is empty and the attachment (a pdf) doesn't show up....
No problems here either.
Sent from my mAtrix2!!

I had this very same error. I got it to work again by unchecking the "verify certificate" option in the corporate sync account settings.
All day I have not been able to send gmail mail with K9 comes back with errors, but if I use the gmail app I can send?
Any one else having issues?
I am not running Droidwall or anything.
Also it works on WIFI but not on the Verzion network? I called Verizon and asked if they are having issues or blocking gmail port 465 smtp port...
I wonder if I froze something that would affect that??? Don't think so though.
Also I un-installed K9 and reinstalled it and it won't even setup gmail not connecting to server.
I wonder if gmail is having issues
Getting a SocketTimeoutException
I think it's a network problem between me and the mail server, or the mail server is down.
Anyone else having issues with gmail and k9 or even trying to access gmail pop
I tried to setup a gmail pop account in k9 and would not connect to the server.
Just for fun I also tried un freezing everything and still a no go.
Must have been Gmail because it's working this am.
I did not change anything just sent a test email and it works.
I guess no one else had this issue yesterday.
Does anyone here use K9? I thought about switching to something like aqua mail pro??? and I hate the stock gmail app. I freeze it.

I use K9 but not with Gmail. K9's imap implementation is better than the stock email app.
