[Q] USB OTG Webcam(non-rooted) - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I have been trying to integrate usb webcam to my sony experia t3 phone through OTG cable since few days.I tried many apps which is available on play store for this purpose and none of the app worked. Except for two apps ,it showed "unknown device connected". OTG cable works fine if i connect to a pendrive ,but webcam doesn't work. And I am not able to get this information about my webcam whether it is a UVC supported one or not. So can anyone please resolve this issue.
PS:My phone is not rooted and android 4.4

USB keyboard problem

Hi
I have a new tablet (Medion Lifetab s10346) running KitKat that works fine with all sorts of periperals (mouse, umts-stick, hard-drive, hub) I have connected so far via otg.
And I have a Cherry G230 usb keyboard that works fine on my PC and my raspberry.
But when I connect the keyboard via otg to the tablet it is not recognized as a keyboard and does not work at all. The device shows up on the usb-bus (when I do a "lsusb" in a terminal) but that's it.
Even though the keyboard has a few non-standard multimedia-keys I would have expected that it would at least get recognized as a generic HID-keyboard....
Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be and if there is anything I could do to address it?
Many thanks!

USB OTG?

Hi guys, should have my P8max tomorrow, was just wondering if any of you guys had tested USB OTG with it? If it can't do USB audio out then that's going to be a major problem for me (if it doesn't support it natively that's OK, providing an app like USB Audio Player PRO or Hiby Music Player works). Generally anything that has OTG support will work with those apps, so should be fine, but always nice to have confirmation - don't suppose anyone here has tested it out? Any other feedback about USB OTG welcome.
i tested internet via usb otg. It's not working bec. google has disabled usb otg on android 4.4 and higher. why? i don't know. it's stupid google decision.
internet via usb can be enabled but:
1. it's need root
2. it's always need wifi or fake wifi connection
3. stupid google
USB OTG drives work for me, the DACs I have also work, although they need USB Audio Player PRO or Hiby Music to function. Only phone I've tried with functional USB ethernet via OTG was the ASUS Padfone Infinity, and even there I suspect it only worked because the drivers were intended for use in tablet mode.

ASUS Padfone Infinity on Android 4.4.
Trouble with USB ethernet via OTG users have on Android 5.0 and higher.
Confirmed ... USB OTG works for my P8 max...
Confirm Usb OTG working on DEV701-L europe.
I have connected a 1 Tb 2,5" external Hd and it worked perfectly.

My OTG is not working, cable is good... what can i do?

Hello my otg it's just not working at all... i'm rooted, with 5.0.2 lollipop in a xt1032 terminal (1st gen i guess).
Cable works good and mounts pendrive flawless in another J7 i have, so, the cable is not the problem.
*USB Host app shows everything good with green checkmarks.
*USB Troubleshooter app does detect otg on phone and the cable connected, but... marks in red next 2, "not detected device in linux / android"
*Stickmount app does anything, it does not detect stick.
Sometimes when connecting cable it turnoff my phone.
What should i do? i really want to conect my pendrive or gamepads... Thanks in advance!

WiFi Issue

If device's WiFi isn't working then can we use a USB WiFi catcher router via USB OTG cable? Does it work?
If yes then how?
Please help
Infact I attached an external USB WiFi adapter via USB OTG cable to my device Sony Xperia Z5 which internal WiFi isn't working.
But It didn't work perhaps external USB WiFi adapter needs driver to install in my android device and I was unable to find even by Google search...
I don't understand what is this ****ty thing called driver and in this case apple devices are best they don't need any kind of drivers for any device, you plug any device in an apple device and you'll not have to install drivers for it just plug and play and enjoy.
Now this windows and Android are annoying in this case.....

Samsung A50 - OTG and USB problems

I have a A50 phone and tried to connect a Samsung OTG to the phone and inserted a USB containing videos into the OTG.
The OTG does not display and neither do the videos.
I can transfer the videos from the PC and the USB does not have any errors and works on PC and PVR.
The odd thing is that the OTG together with the videos on the USB display correctly on my wifes A70 and my sons S6 phones with the Samsung OTG and also non Samsung OTG without any problems.
Tried restarting and reinserting OTG and USB into the phone without any success.
I have tried restarting the phone ,did a factory reset without success . I also ran a OTG checker app and the the phone is compatible with the OTG.
The Samsung Customer Service Centre also could not solve the problem.
Any other suggestion please ?
Thanks
Les
Could someone help me wth this problem,
Thanks.
