[Q] 4G Speed

I rooted the phone and without a custom rom i get the h+ with the check mark. But I get no connection.
So I tried to install a custom mod and now i dont get the 4g speed i get an h with an up down arrow but I can connect to internet.
Can anyone help me. Please
Make sure the battery cover and sd card/sim card cover it on. Check settings>wireless and networks> mobile networks, and check your apn settings.
the h or h+ is irrelevant.
rooting procedure breaks the h+ connection. known fact. cm7 speedtest=.62 megabits down. .12 up. stock s on in same spot= 2.30 megabits down. .76 up.

Then there is something wrong with your flash. CM7 gets me the exact same speeds as any sense ROM.
Custom ROMs do NOT have the h+ icon. That is all it is. You may have to edit build.prop to get the 14.4mbit connectivity back. But no towers can even go near that fast right now.

This man speaks da truff.
Yup. LeeDroid's rom shows 3G for HSPA, and H for HSPA+, from what I can tell. I've had it cycle through the icons after a reboot. I haven't messed with a rom yet that had the H+ icon.
I just got 1514k / 1321k using the Gingerbread version of Android Revolution. Mine only shows an "H" icon.

Which rooting procedure did you use? I used bubbys and my download speeds are way slower.

While I know you weren't asking me, I too used Bubby's tool and my speeds are as fast as can be expected based on the time of day. I've seen as high as 3.79dn and 1.5up.
Dl Prop Editor from market and see what your settings are in build.prop.

I personally used the hack kit before bubby's came out.
Custom ROMs tend to remove the H+ icon, so all you will see is an H.
The speed varies on some ROMs. Edit your build.prop and reboot twice, and you should be good to go. I got 2.5ish on stock ROM, I get 5+ now.
GL!
I know mine varies all the time depening on the time of day. Used bubbys on 3.5 rev rom and have seen 4.6 and 1.9.. it varies though
Waiting on the new gb we will see what speeds we get there

[Q] Signal Problems HTC Sensation 4G

Hey guys I have an T-Mobile HTC Sensation 4G, I've unlocked it and now i am using AT&T. Currently i have problems with my signal being cut out or extremely weak when i'm in my house, and in some areas. Sometime my 3G Data doesnt work and it wont load facebook or any website on the browser. I have tried many Roms and they are mostly the same problem with signal. Sorry i'm still a noob about this stuff.
Any idea how to fix this? Thanks in advance
I dont know if this will help but it will help you change signals. Press *#*#4636#*#* you will see a menu come up. Scroll down to see what you signal is locked on then you can press and another menu will come up with different signal options. You can choose the option you want, then scroll down to press refresh. A series of numbers will come up on line and your good to go. I use this method to lock on to my H signal so it does not switch. Like I said, not sure if it will work in your case but its worth a try! Good luck and I do hope this helps !

Sure, have a look a this thread.
Best advice, read, read, read and understand what you read. Flashing a Radio can brick your phone, but when done correctly it's practically failsafe.

Anyone know a solution for this?

I can't seem to get any service from my carrier. The phone can get reception/signal, it's just the phone displays No Service from the pull down notifications. And when I go into mobile settings and try to search for a network or anything, It says "Error while searching for networks." Is this the antenna problem? Would I have to open up the phone and adjust something? btw does anyone know where the antenna is located at?

I unlocked the sidekick, tried a ATT simcard got good reception like Tmobile, but still no service. Do you know where the antenna is in the sidekick?
Its probally an antena prob because surprisingly I droped my old samsung gravity smart in water by accident and my first thought was to take the battery out and let it dry, that succeeded on letting me turn it on fully but I had no reception what so ever which is odd but this sounds off topic a lil but I ended up bricking it o.o normaly t-mobile themselfs sometimes making horrible phones don't get me wrong their good but most of them are 2.2 froyo ._.

Have you tried using a different Rom? Can you get into your boot loader? If so perhaps try wiping and reinstalling a new Rom if problem persists try another radio and ril. I lost data connection once from flashing a recommended radio for a certain Rom, I restored my connection by finding a generic ICS radio/ril file. I first flashed radio, then matching ril and my data connection returned. You can give this a try before giving up. Use the generic ICS radio /ril combo as they are more apt to work easily. Sometimes it takes trying a few to get the connection correct for your area. I really hope this works for you! It worked for me when my data connection was wiped. I'm hoping it's a simple fix like this. If this does not work the problem MUST be internal. But do give it a try! It very well could work. I wish you the best! Also when getting radio don't forget the ril. Best wishes! Hoping this works for you!

[Q] Hardware Repair - No Service

I smashed the screen on my HTC One XL and am in the process of replacing it. The new screen is installed, all the connectors are inserted correctly, but I haven't put the backplate back on yet.
I know that the screen is working fine, as I can turn the phone on and use the touchscreen. The wifi is also connecting nicely. However, the phone doesn't connect to the phone network and has a 'No Service' error message. It recognises the SIM card, so that's not the problem.
Can anyone suggest what I can do to fix this?

I already have.
But which connection would it be? If I'm not mistaken, the cellular signal antenna is on the same chip as the Wifi. So how can the wifi work without the cellular?

If I'm not mistaken there should be a ton of metal connections on the backplate, maybe one of those is the antenna?

You mean I'd need to install the backplate to get the antenna to work? I can't see anything that looks like an antenna, but it's possible.

That's what I'm thinking. If you didn't miss any of the antenna connectors the only real option is to reassemble the phone and try it.

Yes! It did.
I think the antenna is the contact on the top-right side of the backplate.
Except now the earpiece speaker isn't working.
Anyone have any idea what could be going wrong there?
