HBOOT-1.17.1111 and ICS

Hi,
I have an HTC Sensation with HBOOT-1.17.1111 (i'am currently S-OFF, Rooted, with CWM installed).
I receive OTA notification for ICS but of course, as i can see i cannot install it (exclamation mark blue robot) due to the fact of S-OFF (as i have understand).
What is the best solution in my case to have ICS on my phone ? Using CWM to flash a custom rom like VIPERS ? Other ?

best i would say is flash 3.32/3.33 firmware and have custom ics (viperS will blow your mind )

If you want to flash stock ROM yourself, find it here. You can chose between Sensation and Sensation XE ROM (will work regardless of your device). Don't forget to flash compatible firmware first.
For me, Wifi was broken with the stock XE ROM. Installing faux kernel 009b4 solved it for me. For the AROMA kernel settings to actually work on stock ROM, you need busybox installed and have to modify the init.post_boot.sh script so it calls busybox run-parts /system/etc/init.d unconditionally (stock ROM does not come with init.d support).

so if i understand well, first of all i need to update my firmware version (3.32/3.33) by following :
Step 3. Downloading the firmware package (PG58IMG.zip)
Step 4. Updating the firmware
Step 5. Removing the PG58IMG.zip file from the sd card
(no previous step, due to the fact that i'm S-OFF, ROOTED (no impact), and have CWM).
Right ?
Concerning the update of the firmware, does my current ROM version (Operator ROM , SFR) will continue to work after the firmware upgrade ?

as you have GB rom running when you update the firmware to ICS compatible version you cant boot to your current rom ..so if you want to do any app data backups,msg,call logs backups do it before hand i.e before flashing the firmware ..then flash the firmware ..go to recovery ..do a nand backup if wanted then flash the new rom ..after full wipe

So i have test yesterday the viperS Rom on a friend phone (HTC Sensation XE), it's a very good ROM with a lot of tweak but comparing to my crurrent Stock ROM on my HTC sensation it's a little bit slower (some lag, Sense 4.0 crash sometime, battery consuming, etc..) but really a good ROM, developper have done a good job at all..
I'am a little bit worried to install it on my HTC Sense for performance reason (i think that Sense 4.0 is the black point).
So, is there an other ROM (close to Stock ROM) ? Is it possible for me on my current HBOOT version (specially with S-OFF and Revolutionnary patch) to put a stock ROM (ICS i mean), or is there a custom ROM which is close to Stock Rom (rooted of course).

3) Install the ROM
4) Root my phone.
Right ?

FYI ..the vipers got updated to 1.2.1 just yesterday and its terribly fast and got sense 4.1 (the stock rom has sense 3.6 )

Honestly, no Idea about "Revolutionary" text -- but S-OFF is not affected by flashing firmware and rom from CWM recovery.
Btw, given ganeshps experience that viper 1.2.1 performs good, I might try it. My reason so far to stick with Sense 3.6 is I read here Sense 4 would be very memory hungry ...

Yep, we have test it with version 1.2.1 (OTA update, 15 Mb) but we still have some trouble with sense.
In any case, this ROM is really really nice (you can change what ever you want on it) but i find it really slow comparing to my current stock ROM.

So, my HTC Sensation is updated to ROM Revoltion HD without any problem.

I just installed the ROM and I have the first experience with Sense 5. Hope incall calls would be fix soon and wifi mobile data also. Some apps like phone and clock need to be resizing. Thanks for bringing this awesome ROM!

Its possible to make a custom kernel with ville-4.2.2-sense5-evitaul_porting ?
So it now must be possible to make s2w working and so on right ?

I am S-On and 1.06 hboot and cannot pass the boot loop, just like on Magio beta ROMs. I followed all the installation instructions and flashed the boot img. too. So please: is there another person having my phone specs which was able to flash either this or Magio beta ROMs ?

You will need to upgrade your hboot to 2.15, as you will need to do this for ALL 3.4 kernel based ROMs. (Don't confuse with hboot 2.16 which you only need for the MaximusHD ROM!!)
See this thread or just RUU your device and return to the original firmware, take the latest official OTA update and then reunlock your device to install the newer ROMs.

So that's why it wasn't the Rom it's your firmware use the jb ruu and unlock your bootloader then come back and flash

It's because you updated your firmware so your partitions are not correct for this Rom you will have to downgrade your firmware to run this Rom

I try,but I get error ¨ E: unable to mount / system ,and after that stuck at htc logo.I restored my old rom from recovery until I find solution for this problem.

Again, and again and again.. the only way this Rom can be installed is that you use this Firmware package http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2759131 .... Then I'd install the firmware package from here and then install sense 6... I can't for the life of me understand why no one doesn't want to have there device on the latest firmware

I installed your latest STOCK SENSE 6 ROM and it is very good.
HTC did a good job. Smooth and stable.
Things that are strange:
- Personalize -> Lock Screen Style option is missing even if it is mentioned in HELP
- no Motion Launch gestures (I hoped that HTC will add the same as for HTC One M8)

1. Idk if HTC removed that option or not.
2. We will never see MLG officially by HTC. Only way we will ever receive that is when @kairi_zeroblade starts kernel building for us.

To be honest there is absolutely no reason to rebase IC to m4 base simply because there are virtually no difference.. I will though be using sense 6 libs from M4 rather then sense 5.5 libs. And i will be using a lot more fixes from our m4 base in our m7 base IC

Basically, I care only about DOUBLE TAP TO WAKE.
This is in my opinion very useful.
Questions:
- Calculator is missing (I found only Calculator Widget) - do you have it?
- Can you anyhow change the Theme Colors (I really like the Dark Blue, but I think that you cannot modify the color of the predefined Themes)
- Security -> Lock Screen: Notification Settings -> Text Messages and Phone ... it does NOT work, can you try it?
Btw. I recommend to install this great Android L font: Roboto Light

It tells me com.android.systemui stopped while booting.
Unlocked, S-OFF, SuperCID, Firmware 4.09.401.3.
Also tried to manually install boot.img via fastboot, but that didn't change anything.
[UPDATE]
Did one more try with manually wiping /data, /cache, dalvik-cache and /system, instead of a factory-reset.
Now it works.

just successfully installed. also have red text at boot, and my phone says, its a test model.
i think, you have to go back to s-on???
i will try that later

After I install this rom I cant delete any file with es file explorer on internal memory,or copy from pc to internal memory.Instaling/uninstaling apps works ok.
Update: Fixed with flash firmware.zip again

Please read the FAQ below and ask questions!
How do you install Sensational SkyDragon?
Download the latest Sensational SkyDragon zip from the download section
Make sure to check that the MD5 checksum matches with the one posted on the download page
Place the zip file on your internal (virtual) SD card
Reboot your phone into recovery TWRP or CWM recovery
Make a backup of your current Rom
Select to install SkyDragon Reborn in recovery and follow the instructions in Aroma installer always selecting full wipe to start the installation
I always prefer to manually wipe cache, Dalvik cache, and data in recovery before starting the Rom installation. Trust me, this method does help prevent many issues.
Some users also reported that after flashing the ROM, flash it over again and make sure to wipe cache and dalvik cache for the ROM to boot up properly.
Please remember to flash kernel in fastboot using: fastboot flash boot boot.img
OR ROM WILL NOT BOOT!
How do I get into recovery?
Hold down power button and volume down at the same time.
Can I install themes and make custom mods?
We do not recommend themes and mods that are not included in the Rom or are not in the SD Hub. If you have any questions follow the main SkyDragon thread, read a few pages, and feel free to ask questions. Someone will be willing to help you. We have the best and friendliest Themers on board!
Can I install a custom kernel?
This specific Rom version is tuned to run optimally with the stock kernel
We now also have custom kernels! Created by acclaimed SkyDragon Dev HolyAngel. SD custom kernels may be included in Aroma at the time of release. Follow this thread for news and updates.
Does SkyDragon Rom include radio firmware, Hboot, recovery, etc.?
Never!
Will installing SkyDragon erase my SD card/internal memory?
No personal data stored on your internal memory will be affected by installing SkyDragon Roms. Photos, music and other files stored on your SD card will remain untouched. The most likely way to erase your internal storage is by flashing stock firmware updates (because they contain stock recovery), flashing incompatible kernels, and incompatible custom recoveries. (always make a backup)

I think I forgotten to add this extra languages into the ROM. But I'm not confident whether it'll work or not as I've not been very successful

Sorry. There's no way for me to post screenshot as I don't have the device in the first place. Please read the op next time

It's Android 4.0.3 with HTC Sense 3.6, not Sense 4.
And I think this ROM is outdated now, there are also many HTC Services unusable now, like HTC Locations, HTC Hub, HTC Watch, etc.
Ported ROM from newer device will be better, such as Sense 5.
But it's so smooth like the stock one. Thanks.

If you did read the first page, the ROM is built for a friend and I hate ROM idling on my desktop. Good things are meant to share so if it works well for my friend than I don't see a reason why I shouldn't share it.
If you feel that its a outdated ROM & OS, please feel free to flash other ROM. I won't stop you
For the rest: other stuff will be added in slowly as I will need my friend to test out the ROM before I could let your have a play with it. Things will come in slowly like my other ROM [emoji14] So please be patient with me

Will check out the Sensation XE threads for some ideas [emoji14]
Public beta will be posted to see what when wrong bcos I don't open the device so I can't check at all. That's the only way to improve on this ROM
I hope I can get your understanding in this issue. Its fine by me if you don't want to try out beta but please don't be the first to be complaining about issues when things don't work. I won't appreciate it and still makes me irritated to do a blind build.

Of course M8 & M9 will receive the newest and greatest, the M8 is only 1 year old and the M9 is brand new 0_o
We, unfortunately, M7 owners will not be receiving Sense 7 officially. Here is proof from Mo, someone very high up in HTC management http://www.neowin.net/news/htc-reveals-that-its-one-m7-will-get-no-further-os-updates
We will receive Android 5.1 GPE though officially. (he states the target is April)
So be very happy for these ports, it's the only ones we will be treated to.
So thank you Arthur, more treats the better

*Whats the Difference between GPE and my Stock ROM?
I mean i know the meaning of GPE Google Play Edition. But the ROM itself whats the difference?
*Correct me if im wrong, Xposed is same with iOS Jailbreak and Having a Cydia Repository?
So it means, its better having Xposed than getting a huge size Custom ROM which is not quietly bloatfree right?
*And, This ArtMod Sence 7, this is not Custom ROM right? Only minimal Zip file and only has Sence 7?
So i will get the whole Sence 7 only?
Please answer with * so i can understand please

Um where have you been during the entire "Sense" series? Like since the birth of Android...
Sense is a skin like TouchWiz, or what LG does with their phones, or Sony. Sense is like those, but I honestly feel like Sense makes waay more sense than any of those, I've only had HTC because of their Sense skin. It's completely integrated and is less of a 'Skin' than what the other OEMs do, I think. It's also not 'bloated' like it used to be. Sure, seems that way because its literally 4x the size of any other ROM for any other phone but for some reason, Sense always has worked best on this phone for me any non-sense ROMs like CM, always seem to have some lags or something. GPE is the same as CM, non-Sense.
Xposed is a modifier, or buffer, that allows you to modify the ROM on the fly using modules. Nothing to do with ROMs size or w.e. its just a modification tool. And it can cause bootloops, its still extremely alpha (xposed - don't use it for another few more weeks unless you want to risk bootloops)
This ROM from Author is just like the other Sense 7 ROMS you see on this forum right now like 'santod's Sense 7 ROM, its a port of the newest ROM using the official bases (which means the most complete 'official' experience as everything you'll see and use is identical to what the M9/8 users will be using). He's put in his own tweaks that make it his 'own port'. So its a 'custom' official ROM. Just read. If you don't understand what I mean by any of this, probably best you DON"T touch anything. Leave your phone how it is now, working, before you break it.

These are not bugs. whichever rom you used had those things added to the rom.
This rom doesn't have them.

I forgot enable Beats Audio. Please flash attached zip after rom in any time.
